(Many Harry P reference in this Ch.)
I'm fans lol. Just this chapter I want to mix it with my story no matter what.
Those who don't like HP can skip to the next chap.
“Look, that’s him!"
"Where?"
"Next to the handsome guy with the black hair."
"Did you see his face?"
"He’s the one who did it?"
Clattering and whispers followed me from the moment I left the library with Barn, oh poor Barn. I’m in the same class with Barn and people piled up outside my classroom stood on tiptoe to get a look at him, or doubled back to pass him in the corridors again, staring with disdain in their face, some even mock him directly.
I’m sitting on my chair inside the classroom with Barn on my side, so It feel like I’m the one that being watched.
“Why did they have to be so cruel?” Said Barn in dejected manner.
“Yeah, I wished they wouldn't” I said casually while flipping the page of History of Magic.
“Lestat? You.. I know you are really a good guy despite yours ..attitude.” smile creep on Barn face.
“I was trying to concentrate to read my book.”
“...”
“So, can you change your seat so I can have some peace? Those people and you... distracting me.”
“...”
“In exchange I’ll give you something good.”
“What?”
“A mirror.” I take it from my inventory pretending it comes from the cloak.
“...”
“It’s not an ordinary mirror, mind you.”
“Ohh, what kind of mirror?”
“The talking mirror.”
“It can talk?”
“Yeah, I bought it from ‘The Talking Door”
(a shop name in Kingshill City from Ch.06)
“Whoa! Awesome. There’s even a talking door.. Fine I’ll find the other seat.”
7 minutes later
“How can I make the mirror talk?” Barn come back to me from his new seat.
“You don’t know?” I ask seems amazed, not that I know.
“Y-Yeah.” He scratch his back while looking embarrased.
I close my book and look at his face “You have to soak it in the dragon blood.”

“W-Where can I find a dragon?”
"Kill a dragon."
“... Kill.. a Dragon?! that's impossible! do you even know what kind of existence is a dragon?”
“...”
"To subjugate a dragon we need a hundred knights, mages, and priest!! Even it would be lucky if some of them survived to enjoy the fame and glory."
“Was there someone who succede in subjugate dragon in the past?”
“Of course. there was plenty of them. there were even five SS Rank Adventurer who killed a dragon two years ago."
"Just five of them?" I ask curiously.
"Yes, you can imagine how strong they are."
"Interesting" I mumle to myself. The bell ring and the students go back to their respective seat, the whole class become silent.
"You are here to learn the art of potion making now, stop anything you do and pay attention to me." Axelle said while strolling into the classroom.
"I though she teach a light magic?" I ask the random guy sitting next to me who replace Barn.
"Huh? light magic? what kind of nonsense are you talking about? there's no such a thing like light magic. you can only learn it at the Church in Capital City" said a random guy with random face.
'Damn, she's messing with me..'
She spoke in barely more than a whisper, but they caught every word. "As there is little wand waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses.... I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stop death, if you aren't as big a bunch of ghost story maker as I usually have to teach." She look at Barn when she said the last sentences. More silence followed her speech.
Barn was on the edge of his seat and looked desperate to start proving that he wasn't a ghost story maker.
"Lestat!" said Axelle suddenly.
"What would I get if I added the root of dhoasdel to an infusion of seflytin?"

‘Root of what to an infusion of what?’ I glanced at the other who looked as stumped as I was. Barn hand had shot into the air.
"I don't know" I said.
"Tch.. tch. So much for recommended student" Axelle's lips curled into a sneer, ignored Barn's hand.
"Let's try again. Lestat, where would you look if I told you to find me a Zigoa?" Barn stretched his hand as high into the air as it would go without his leaving his seat, but I didn't have the faintest idea what a Zigoa was.
I tried not to look at Logwee, Berlag, and Pimpim, who were shaking with laughter.
"I don't know"
"Thought you wouldn't open a book before coming, eh, Lestat?" I forced myself to keep looking straight into those beautiful eyes that seems to say ‘this is payback for leaving without helping me test my potion’.
Axelle was still ignoring Barn's quivering hand. "What is the difference, Lestat, between drakewood and skywood?"
Barn stood up, his hand stretching toward the class ceiling.
"I don't know," I said quietly. "I think Barn does, though, why don't you try him?" A few people laughed. Axelle, however was not pleased, but at least she stopped her aggresion towards me.
Axelle class last for 2 hours. As there is no more classes, I intend to explore the Academy.
"Barn, can you take me around the academy?" I ask him.
"Eh.. now that I think about it, you are the new student that people talking about. sure, I will show you around."
"What do you mean?"
"A new first-year who challenge a second-year on the day he join the academy to a duel." Barn replied with a slight smile on his face.
"... ah, I nearly forget about that." I say with raised tone while walking through wide staircase.
"Forget?! I hear it's today right? are you going to be alright?"
"Don't worry I can handle them. More importantly, something weird about this stairs.."
"Ah, it's because there were a 962 staircases at Arachnid Academy. Wide, narrow sweeping ones, rickety ones, some that led somewhere different on a monday and thursday."
"..."
"I occasionally trying to walk around the academy trying to find many places that I never know or visited before.
Some with a vanishing step halfway up that you had to remember to jump, and doors that weren't really doors at all, but solid walls that just pretending to be one."
'I see. It was also very hard to remember where anything was, because it all seemed to move around a lot which made my teleportation seems kind of useless except if I went to certain location that stay put, unchanging like dormitories and library.' I contemplate in my mind.
"Did the library also the same? I ask
"Yes, but below 7th floor, it's stay put and didn't change.
"I see, so the library upper floor did change sometimes, that’s why I never seems to reach the upper floor of the library."
"They say that in the top floor of the library there is a secret room that locked and some even say that the purpose of this secret room is to seal the fairy inside.
"Personally I prefer some forbidden spell that could destroy the entire continent."
"Maybe both of them exist or nothing at all." Barn sigh. "No one ever set foot in that place, even for the headmaster, and no matter how I try to reach the top, I can’t seems to reach it."
"This academy is very large and have a ancient feeling to it. Truly one of the wonder of this world."
It has been two week since the invasion of monster from the dungeon. It’s fortunate that the capital city sent their elite knight and mage to stop the monster from attacking other village and city, now they are stationed around the vicinity of the dungeon, guarding it to prevent any similar accident to happen.
I spent most of my time in classes and library below 7th floor because I don’t want to get lost and waste my mana, and trying to learn many spell as I could. Since that day, many others mage apprentice (students) trying to ask me a guidance and sparring after I emerge victorious in the duel with second-year on my second day, thus my fame spreading to the entire academy. Still my fame is nowhere near Barn though.
