《Sir Skelliton》Hindsight and Shame

Isha had her hands full being focused on restraining her mother while her father tried to talk the murderous hellspawn down. It had been working, as she stopped spamming her spell over and over. Not that she herself was cooperating that much when Isha started to explain the situation. Her father was understanding, being an arcane mage himself. Her mother on the other hand...
“How could you be so reckless!?”
Yeah, she wasn’t taking the news too well.
“Do you have any idea how dangerous what you’ve been doing has been? You forced the System to unlock, something that literally kills almost every time. You put your trust into a stranger, a human as well, and then invited them to our home!?”
Isha had been the lecture should she have survived. Didn’t meant she was free of shame as her mother pointed out every risk she justified taking. It had worked out, sure. But there were also unintended consequences. Like summoning a seemingly Unique Undead without the proper Class and Levels. Who also managed to defeat two of the strongest people they had. And would have hurt, even killed, more people if she hadn’t been there to stop it.
Yeah, it was all coming down now. Having her parents admonish her and a moment to actually reflect made Isha feel terrible. She was used to stern talking too. But never had something backfire this badly. She could only imagine what she'd feel like if anyone had actually died.
There was an audible thunk reverberating in the room. Everyone turned to see Sir Skelliton on the floor. Unconscious. Well, Isha assumed it was unconscious since the fires in its sockets were out. And because the system had yet to inform her that she lost a Minion.
“Well, that solves that problem. Fucking freak of nature won't be hurting anyone anytime soon.”

Isha’s mother thought this was a good enough time to stop her rant. Or she was prioritizing something else. Might be both. Isha was just glad to feel the least constant shame at the moment.
“Farlen, be a dear and set up one of your cages. We are not letting this thing walk around any time soon. Especially an Undead of all things.”
Isha wasn’t surprised. She was still mildly annoyed that her only Minion, who was clearly obedient, was being locked up. She didn’t voice her misgiving regardless. Didn’t feel like she was in the need of more lecturing.
Farlen for his part complied. Dragging the unresistant Skeleton to one of his many cages. Thankfully enough, he had one open. The one that had been holding the rare Mind Thief. He doesn’t quite remember what happened to it. But, since he’d never risk letting out something so dangerous in the heart of his home, he felt there was no need to worry about it. Must have disposed of it and forgot.
He had to be honest, he was curious. There many things off about this Undead. Its appearance. Its abilities. Even the level of intelligence it had. But the one thing that had stood out the most the level of reverence Sir Skelliton had for his daughter. You’d be rare to find such loyalty in a regular Minion, much less in one with such autonomy and identity.
He’d have been doing experiments already if he was sure he wouldn’t break the thing in the process. While it was dangerous, it was still a tool. A tool that appeared to be in the right position to keep his daughter safe. Something he’d much like to see. Come will a day he’s not around to keep her safe anymore.
Especially if things get as bad as he thinks they will. But as his wife always says; Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. And now is as good a time as any to prepare Isha for the worst.

Back in the room with the two female hellspawn, there fell an overwhelming silence. Zeltara had spoken her peace and had nothing more to say. Isha just didn’t want to set off anymore spellmines. Jearld was trying real hard to be forgotten by everyone involved. So far he was succeeding.
That is until he noticed his contact waking up.
“Um, Head Priest Zeltara, she’s getting up.”
While he’d have preferred to remain silent and blend into the background, not saying anything and being caught for it would be worse down the line. The woman, now prisoner due to the restraints holding her down to the table, had little to add to the situation. Well, she did have a few words to say as the full weight of the situation came down on her.
“Ah shit.”

Life is not a game. Nor is it something to enjoy. No. What it was is a challenge. A challenge to us, to see who can live longer. My first work, if you have suggestions as to writing style, please tell me in the comments. I also wont update that regularly. I am after all simply a normal person writing his first story, please be lenient.
8 194Transmigration to the Otherworldly Heavens
Transmigration is really tough ordeal. You never know what is awaiting you on the other side of summoning circle. There is bound to be misunderstanding, confusion, perhaps a certain amount of violence. Isekai, or an Otherworld, can be full of danger, it’s people might have too different beliefs and customs. They might be monsters or treat you as one. It’s always full of surprises, both good and bad. Mostly bad. Especially if the summoner is not "kidnapping" you to hire as the Hero.. but as the God. With every single trouble that entails. Published weekly on Scribblehub, RoyalRoad, Honeyfeed and Patreon*.*One chapter ahead so far. Discord channel: https://discord.gg/7SDw4gFZX6

8 290Into the world that I made
Waking up, I was quite surprised to find myself inside my fictional creation. Unfortunately, this place is the hellhole I personally designed. To survive here, I need strength. Well then, I’ll become the strongest and enjoy my new life. The world has changed? Bring it on! Things will be more entertaining from now on. The hero will fail to save the world? Fine, I’ll do it myself. My world, my rule. ================ Reader Disclaimer: - I'm not a native English speaker.
