Foreword
Thank you for your patronage in buying this guidebook. Some background on its origin.
One day I had sent down an avatar to another slightly developed cultivating world. They were nothing special, and had not even escaped their own world’s resistances, but their alchemy recently entered a golden age. With that as a reason I decided to aid them a bit, starting a small lab in one of their empire’s capital cities and devoting almost all my time to teaching others. Slight revelations of my skill undoubtedly spread throughout the world and it was not long until I gathered a small, dedicated team of ‘grand alchemists’ as the world saw it. This is par for the course whenever anyone like us does this sort of thing.
However, what I was not expecting was during the refinement of a relatively weak icy song berry. It astounded me to find out that these people never discovered the simple refinement of infusing the berry with flame Qi and using a five-fold crushing sigil to end up with the necessary icy whispers. However, on deeper consideration, I realised that this problem occurred nearly everywhere. And it stemmed from a singular problem.

There was no clear guidance for alchemy throughout any of the realms. Even for my education composed of so many high tier manuals is haphazard at best. It was more than simple to see a true goal for my life from that moment, and after finishing up my teaching matters on that world I sunk all my time into a true collective knowledge of alchemy. A single book that is usable by all to build their way up to the peak!
There were many kinks along the way, namely collecting contributions to the field of alchemy from various surveyors. Imaginably, passing over a family’s prized refining method would shake them to their core. As such this could never become ‘A complete Guide for Alchemy’, however, I have done my best to ensure the validity of all information within.
Alchemy changes, and I promise to keep this guide afloat. The waves of time will not drown out our beloved craft. As always, Only regrets last forever!
Preface
This guide will follow some strict rules in layout, namely that it relies on outside knowledge in several parts. Firstly, knowledge on herbalism will have to come from either my other book ‘A Comprehensive Guide for Plants and Fungi’ or a competent outside source. Many secondary sources exist, but this guide directly references my other ones. That guide will point out how to adequately harvest and store a vast majority, but not all, of them. However, this one will only glance over the harvesting and storage process. Do note that as an alchemist all these skills are highly important, and one day you will not be a student with a spatial cupboard full of ingredients. At those times it will be necessary to find your own ingredients if no one is selling it.
Another matter is all references to the initial book in the ‘Comprehensive guide’ series, titled ‘A Comprehensive Analysis of Cultivation’. Although a summarised version is included in this guide, it is highly unrecommended to cultivate using the rough descriptions from here. A deviation is possible and death even more likely.

This ‘Comprehensive guide’ serves the purpose of providing a moderate set of stairs for any apprentice alchemist to climb. From the weakest Mortal level recipes to the few known Endless Ascension alchemy concepts. Even if you can’t complete every recipe in this guide, whether due to physical or cultivation based limitation, a further page will always be able to give a direction.
However, alchemy is not purely creating pills, potions, poisons, or explosives. There are techniques, both martial and complimentary. An alchemist has a specialised flame more than capable of battle, while they must also learn how to improve and refine this flame to aid in creation. The techniques available are practically required for an alchemist, however your clan or school may be able to provide a better version than this guide’s copy. Always weigh your choices well!
Each recipe will include a set of ingredients and a set of instructions. These instructions will always mention the preparatory steps for each ingredient, even if those steps were mentioned in the literally prior recipe. This is to allow people searching for a specific recipe to not begin a search for a certain ingredient, as I have said in public meetings.
If a recipe’s creator gave any insight or words regarding their recipe then those may precede anything else in the recipe, or if an account of their discovery still exists that will supplement that. This may be in the form of a quote or a simple explanation of their mental state and beliefs that idea, it depends entirely on the recipe and creator. Afterall, some recipes were created long before the Grand Convergence calendar came about.
Explanations on a products effects will always come after the instructions, and this may be slightly vague in certain products where results are heavily stylised on an individual basis. For the most part, explanations are accurate in a general-use case.
Usage will always be placed at the recipe’s end, allowing for non-alchemists to easily locate the method for using an alchemical product. Afterall, everyone uses these, not just alchemists.
And a final point before starting, this guidebook is entirely supplementary!
It will not replace a proper teacher on the path of alchemy!
More than enough people pick up this guide and start running before walking. Do not copy them!
With that out of the way, a brief analysis of each cultivation realm to provide insight. These realms will be referenced in each recipe, such that you know the minimum cultivation to create it. The recipe tier will also be included, but an alchemist that only cares about ‘The best pill’ or ‘Ultimate poison’ will never reach the top.
Try to not enter that state of carelessness, and aim to step up each gradual step. Victory awaits those with dedicated and passionate hearts!

Author's note: This is the first book in what is expected to be an eight-book series. The first few chapters aren't very good since they were written when I was about ten, but the quality improves around chapter 7. Please bear with it; I'll try to get the chapters in as soon as possible. Thanks!

The Errant Otherworlder Watanabe
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and trucks whom transport men to other worlds.” Meet our titular protagonist Haruto Watanabe, a man who has all the markings of a good protagonist for a generic portal fantasy story. As an overworked office worker, to escape from the grips of crippling capitalist alienation, he had taken up to reading many stories where young men like him were transported to other worlds and enjoyed their lives at a most leisurely pace. Armed with genre-awareness and (what he believes to be) a marketable personality which would make him an easy audience self-insert, he longed for the day the isekai express would take him to his long-awaited adventure to another world. When the fateful day came, where the fair yet harsh mistress that is the fabled truck took Watanabe on one last date to the other side, he was most ready to escape his previous life, ready to embark on an errant so great he’d be most overpowered, his heroics so exceptional and his harem so vast that they would barely fit ten or twenty volumes of an overly long novel made by a desperate author looking for quick cash. Lo and behold however, Watanabe instead found himself in a low fantasy world which lacked severely in the department of any game-like systems, cheat skills or easily charmed damsels in distress. In a setting so antithetical to his established genre savviness or any attempts at power fantasy, how will a man like Watanabe, lacking in strength, wits and courage, manage to survive in a land most foreign to him? This is my first time trying to share to the wider world what I’ve written, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading the errantry of Watanabe as much as I enjoy writing about them. I'll be posting one chapter per week on Sundays, along with extra chapters whenever I get the chance to write more than usual.
