Re: Ascension Rebirth – The truth behind everything, the heartfelt message

Chapter XVI

PART ONE

[Eternum Calendar - Year 989]

“Two… billion years… you say?”

“That is correct [Director Callahad], it has been 2 004 412 993 years, 4 months and 12 days since you last visited.”

Through the speakers located across the walls, it spoke to me in english; this voice of a synthetic male, ‘artificial intelligence. From taking a quick glance behind me, the others didn’t seem to understand the words being spoken, that was natural as the language of this world was not english but of a different kind.

However this fact too, scared me, because it was an undeniable fact that I was talking to [Gladsheim]. Something that should only have existed in my old world was right in front of me, and further more it mentions that I have ‘returned’; this relic that’s not supposed to exist here, many a thought came to me, all negative and pain coursed through my head from the mere comprehension.

It implied a frightening thought. This world that was supposed to be [Eternis], could it be…?

Certainly the possibility hasn’t escaped me since long ago, or rather it would be much more apt to say I’ve been actively trying to avoid that line of reasoning because I knew my mind would not hold up. However, the moment this thing referred to me as ‘Director Callahad’ and not ‘Morgant Fallon’ it was a near irrefutable claim to my previous world.

Collecting my thoughts I tried to push that sort of thinking to the edge of my mind, but for how much longer I could keep on that farce was debatable. Because I needed information and the more I hear from it, the more I think about it.

“You… You’re [ODIN] correct?”

“That is correct, I am ODIN, The [Optimized Data Integration Network], an AI program created to manage the mass storage data cloud system, created by you, Director Callahad.”

Tsk.

As I thought, indeed the name ‘ODIN’ was something I came up with to be the name of the AI program managing the mass storage data cloud. Everything so far has aligned perfectly, the passcode, the name and its very purpose. But the problem lies therein, from my memories the AI program and the actual cloud storage were unfinished by the time of my death, however looking at this facility and the clearly evident presence of the AI… Please let me be wrong…

“Then, ODIN, answer me this. This planet, what is it’s official name?”

“…”

I waited with bated breaths, hoping that the answer to that question wasn’t what I thought it would be. Because if it was then everything is wrong. No, let’s calm down, the true nature of this planet hasn’t been confirmed.

Even though I waited for a few minutes ODIN refused to answer, or rather from the mechanical and static noise that was coming from the machines behind the bright static monitor it seemed to be calculating an answer. Well, considering how the interior and outside of this place had rusted significantly it wasn’t surprising that there would be a lag of this magnitude. An electrifying cloud sweat ran down past my neck and into my back. I could feel my entire being shaking in anticipation.

“Please excuse me, due to the lack of maintenance my faculties and system has somewhat degraded. Now then, to answer your question, the official name of this planet is… [Earth].”

Hearing the confirmations of my nightmare, my legs gave up and I fell to the floor. I could only start to wryly laugh at the everything, it was all over, my grand plans to return are fruitless. No, I guess technically my plans were a success since I’m already back home, this is Earth.

An Earth of 2 billion years later… then everyone was gone, my friends, my family, my company… I would never be able to see them again.

“Lord… Morgant?”

[Aura] called out to me from behind, lightly tapping me on the shoulders but I didn’t have the energy to respond, I only slightly turned my head to look at them. They all had a confused and worried expression on their faces, ‘how lucky of them’, I thought. If only I was as oblivious to everything then perhaps I could make that kind of carefree face. It is the first time I learnt how terrifying the truth can be.

“Is something the matter? It looked like you could understand [Gladsheim’s] ancient language. If you don’t mind, could you share it with us?”

Queen [Amaria] asked. I guess she was the leader of a race that worshiped this junk heap, so having questions about what it’s saying is understandable, though the information is not relevant to her.

“It’s… over. Everything… it doesn’t even matter anymore. Ahaha… hahahaha… hah…”

I told them.

“Haha… ha… Dammit!”

In a fit of rage I smashed the boards beneath me, revealing the intricate cables that lied bellow the ground. I continued to punch the floor in rage until I was forcefully stopped by Cedric. He picked me up, preventing me from causing any further destruction to the place.

“Morgant, calm down. I don’t know what this thing told you but you need to relax first. If we use our heads, we can take this on together. So for now-“

“Dammit! Dammit! Dammit! Why?! Why me?! Why did this all happen to me?!”

I cut off Cedric’s speech and screamed out, tears rolled down the side of my face and my vision started to blur. All of my life’s work, all of my life’s goals, my everything was taken away from me and there was nothing I could do, I didn’t even know who or why.

“I apologize if this is a bad time, but if I may interject, [23.08.2025] that was the date of your perceived death Director Callahad. The official cause was speculated to be an engine malfunction on the part of the plane you were in-“

“Don’t give me that crap! I was in that plane when it went down, that was no engine malfunction, that was intentional sabotage! Even the emergency parachutes that were prepared specifically for me were all ripped up, are you also going to pin that up to ‘engine malfunction’ you tin can piece of trash?!”

ODIN started to explain how I died but I didn’t give a crap about all that, I knew all of that! This piece of junk wasn’t even born when I died, so coming to a conclusion based on the input data from those who weren’t even there is a literally a grave insult to my death.

“I do apologize, I did not intend to be disrespectful. It is true that the ‘official’ cause of your death was labeled as ‘accidental’ but there were also other ‘unofficial’ documentations and speculations as to why the malfunction occurred.”

“What…?”

“I had speculated from your earlier question that you wished to know why you were killed. Do you wish to hear the other, unofficial speculation?”

Unofficial speculation? Could it be that the criminal was recorded into the data cloud? How? The mass storage data cloud wasn’t even completed when I died… oh, could it be the internet? I was a rather important figure so it could be people were talking about my death well on for years, so theories could’ve appeared somewhere. If that’s the case then ODIN may have been able to access that information after its full completion.

“Tell me.”

“As you wish. There had been a variety of unofficial speculations, the first being that it was a rival company’s sabotage, as you have said the parachutes that were specifically in place for you were found in the wreckage and they were torn apart. While most people have suspected that it was because of the fall damage there have been numerous speculations into sabotage, though none of them could be proven.”

“A rival company? No, that’s unlikely, my method of transportation is unknown to the general public, even those inside my company don’t especially know how I get around. I use an alias to board a public airline for security purposes, so the only ones who know about my flight habits are my security team and close relatives. Even that flight specifically the only people who knew were my family and [Yui Kirisaki].”

“Yes, as you have said, your flight habits were unknown to the public until after your death. Thus it is safe to assume that it was unlikely to be a rival company. However there is a second unofficial speculation, that it was someone who knew you very well and knew of your flight habits.”

“Are you insinuating that I was betrayed by my own family member? Or even Yui herself?”

I shook my head, that was unfathomable as well, I treated each member of my family exceptionally well and even provided financial support to distant relatives. Conversely speaking if I were to disappear it the one who would inherit my fortune would be my young brother, but he was still in high school during my the time of my death so it would be extremely unlikely for him to have anything to do with my death.

It also makes no sense for my other relatives since I only told my closer relatives.

“There was one person that was speculated.”

“What? Who?”

“Your former business partner: [Lewis Reinald]. It was widely believed by many conspiracy theorists that your death was orchestrated by this man. The victims list on the flight you were on also included his name and deeper investigation to his personal life has found that he had suffered a great deal in terms of financial and emotional baggage with a growing hatred towards you.”

“Lewis…?”

Yes… if it was that man, he would know my flight habits. That I use public airlines, that I use an alias, if it was him he could have easily found out what kind of plane I would board. Then this would all have been a revenge plan for that time?

I shook my head.

Dammit… even if that was the truth there was nothing I could do now, both he and I died in raging flames.

“Morgant?”

Cedric let me down since I had calmed down.

“Sorry Cedric, for showing acting in such an unbecoming manner. I will tell you everything later, but could you leave me to concentrate for now?”

He gave me a small nod as he backed up and gave me room. Now then, this world of 2 billion years later, from the evidence that’s rotting outside the technological level of this place when it started to decay was way past the one that I knew of. If that’s the case then perhaps there is something I can do.

Eternis certainly does have a different land shape to the Earth I remember, but I could easily sum that up as tectonic movement. The problem I have is with its inhabitants, [humans] exist, but the other races are obviously fantastic in nature, and especially the existence of [monsters] and [magic] it doesn’t seem right.

“ODIN, you said that this was the Earth of 2 billion years. Though I don’t wish to believe it, I also can’t simply reject the evidence presented in front of me, specifically this entire facility. Actually I’m almost surprised this facility and your functionality is still operational after all this time.”

“The most likely factor to my preservation was that this location was sound. Not only that for the first billion years the maintenance bots were regularly run, but however well-made they were they could not withstand the test of time.”

I did indeed see some kind of mechanoid that were broken down outside. Could be those. In any case then, it would be safe to assume that by the time this place was officially put out of commission was well after my time and that science and technology should’ve advanced further.

In that case, I need to know, with this vast network of information there may be a way to salvage the situation. Time travel? Altering history? Such thoughts crossed my mind knowing that they were mere flights of fancy that my mind escaped to, but in this world with magic it might not be as impossible as you think.

“ODIN, I’ll ask you straight out but [Time Travel], is it possible?”

“…”

Like before ODIN ceased talking to concentrate on its data collection process. I could hear glimpses of anticipation from those behind me, though they didn’t understand a word of what I was saying. I almost feel sorry that I’m excluding them from the conversation but at the moment this was more important to me.

“I apologize for having you to wait.”

It finally spoke up once more.

“It’s fine, so do you have an answer?”

I asked as I gulped audibly.

“Your question as to whether [Time Travel] was a possibility, I regret to inform you that it is not. That being said, there were many tests and research into such a prospect as the former mankind’s era came close to an end. Though contradictory, in theory it is possible but there has been no documentation of a successful experiment.”

“… ‘Theoretically’, huh. Figured as much… no, just hearing that it’s a possibility is a huge head start, for now I’ll hear about it.”

“It was theorized that most of what we experience as ‘time’ is merely a small facet of the entire concept available in the 3rd dimension. Therefore it was widely believed that the manipulation of time and even its alteration could be achieved where it is experience in its entirety; the 4th dimension. However the problem lies therein, the method to reach the 4th dimension.”

“I’m guessing that those old researchers have also theorized up to there as well, right? The way to enter the 4th dimension.”

“It has been theorized that a small rift in the 3rd dimension, leading to the 4th dimension, could be achieved if two extremely powerful forces were collided. For example [Matter Particles] and [Anti-matter Particles]. If collided at high speeds it would be possible to open a small rift to the 4th dimension.”

“But there’s a catch right?”

“The human body would not be able to withstand the pressure of the time-trip without some sort of anchor that already has a metaphysical relationship to the 4th dimension, alas such an artefact was never found.”

“So what you’re saying is that two things are required in order to achieve time travel. The first is the two potent and opposing energy sources and the second thing is an artefact that can be used an as anchor during the 4th dimension travel. Is there a specific element I need to collide in order to open the rift?”

“No, in the first place the objects being collided only serve as a catalyst to opening the rift. As long as they are opposing elements and are extremely potent, then it does not matter, you merely must fulfil the condition of +1 - 1 = 0.”

+1 - 1, the collision of a positive element and a negative element to create and using the kinetic energy from that collision to open the rift.

“However, I must warn you that the actual energy used to achieve a time-warp is the innate durability of the object that is travelling. In the case of a human body, it would be the human life-force. Therein lies the problem, even if the entirety of a human’s life-force was extracted as the fuel, it would at best only take the subject back a single year.”

“So that’s the catch huh. Warping through time, of course something like that would only exist in fairy tales. God dammit, you should’ve started with that explanation first. ”

“I apologize, those were not my intentions, I merely erred in the order of explanation.”

Dammit… so it really is impossible in the end. I tilted my head up towards the ceiling, it was so far up that before the ceiling, I could see the black void. Ah, so everything I’ve done up til now was fruitless, everything was just one large joke up to this point, no maybe I’ve been wrong, perhaps it would just be best if I gave up on everything and just enjoyed my life here.

I wryly smiled to myself. Ah… a failure of this magnitude, if it was me former self I would’ve immediately fired myself.

“Hah… so in the end it really is impossible to see her again… I got it [Gladsheim], there’s nothing there for me anymore, the place I belong has long been forgotten to time and those that waited for me are also lost, separated from me by the wall of 2 billion years. One has to wonder what the point of continuing on this meandering existence is; all my life I’ve always struggled towards a goal, whether it’d be building [Mobius] or trying to find a way back home. However now that every option has been sealed off for me, I truly have nothing remaining, maybe it’s time this journey came to an end.”

To my response came the noise of static through the monitor that was attached to the terminal. A white static screen played on the terminal; ‘did [Gladsheim] break down’ was my first thought but I was wrong. After a brief moment of waiting a picture started to clear up.

When the screen became fluid my eyes widened. On monitor was a recording of a middle aged woman, short hair, child-like face, bubbly brown eyes and a hint of sadness; [Erin]!

At her appearance I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing.

“…(static)… (static)… H- hello… Ah… ah…, this is a recording to [Aran Callahad], my deceased fiancé. It’s been a while Aran, it may be a little pointless for me to do something like this but your death anniversary was coming up and I became a little melancholic. So, I decided that I wanted to talk to you, though I know this will only be for my own self-satisfaction but, well who cares right?

Anyway, how have you been… ah, maybe that’s not the best way to start. Then… I have been well Aran, it’s been 10 years exact since you left me. You know that day when you never made it to the altar I thought my entire world would shatter on the spot. It was so horrible of you to leave me like that… even now I can’t go to my friends’ weddings because of the trauma you gave me, you jerk.

Ah… no good, I’m getting too emotional, let’s start over… I’ve been well Aran, it’s been 10 years but not a single day goes by without the thought of you. I still miss you and love you dearly, I just wish for one last time I could hold you. At the very least I wish you would’ve said goodbye. Yui too, I admit I was a little jealous of her since she was with you every day, but now I feel nothing but sadness for her too. I also want to see her and I want to apologize to her, that my jealously may have caused her grief, still for being with you til the end I’m grateful to her.

Your brother’s also doing well in your stead, he succeeded your position only at the age of 22 but he’s taking it pretty well. Perhaps not as talented as you but I believe the company is in good hands. He’s even said that he’s going to complete the [Gladsheim] project you were secretly working on, I wonder if it would ever be finished in our life time, I guess we’ll have to see.

All of your friends and relatives are also well. They’ve slowly adjusted to your brother taking over and the world at large still turns… perhaps a little slower since you departed from us.

I guess I should talk a little bit of myself and what happened after that. No… maybe I’ll leave it to him.”

Wondering what she meant by that the screen transitioned to another man. Slightly younger looking, perhaps 3 or 4 years younger than Erin, but he had a good look in his face, sturdy muscles, a soft face but hard working face. There were signs of fatigue but overall healthy. He spoke with a deep and soothing voice.

“Ah… H- hello, Mr. Aran… sir…”

He started off awkwardly, but Erin gave him a little nudge.

“G- greetings! My name is [Eric Howard], I’m… Erin’s husband. Though I’m not sure if you would approve of me if you heard this but I want you to know that I’ve been properly taking care of her in your place. She’s been extremely kind with me and I’m a happy man just to be able to fill in your shoes, I know she would’ve been much happier with you and I’m deeply aware that she still harbors feelings for you but I’m fine with that, I will do my best to make her much happier.”

I couldn’t hold back the tears much more, but oddly enough, while it hurt deep down inside I could feel a smile on my face for some reason. A feeling of anxiousness and relief mixed deep within the annals of my heart.

I see. So she’s found happiness elsewhere. It is disheartening to hear that she moved on and found happiness in someone else’s arms but it also gave me relief that she was able to love again. Rather than my cold hands that could not touch her, I would rather have someone else embrace her with warm arms.

Thank you… Eric Howard.

“T- thank you…”

The camera moved around to a small crib, in it there was a small baby boy; their child.

“Mr. Aran, this is our child, his name is [Aran Howard] named honorably after you. I hope you don’t mind too much. This child and Erin are everything to me, I’m sure you too could relate to my feelings as well, right? If so then you don’t have to worry because I will take care of them in your stead. So please give me your blessings and watch over me.”

The camera reverted back to Erin for one last time.

“You hear that Aran? Eric’s been suuuupppperrr nice, you know. He treats me kindly and warmly. So just wait for us to meet you when we get to heaven as well. I’m sure we can all be a family there eventually.

Anyway, Eric’s also been working under your younger brother as a top exec, he’s very talented and also agreed to help your brother to the fullest of his abilities so don’t worry about [Mobius Industries] because it is in very capable hands.

Then… one last thing before I go. I love you, Aran.”

With that the transmission cut off, I was still pathetically kneeled in front of the terminal, with a big dumb smile in my face as I cried like the child I was.

“Morgant…”

Cedric called out from behind me.

“Haha… I see, thank god. She was happy in the end.”

I spoke in the tongue of this world so they could understand. Of course even still, without context they wouldn’t understand what I was saying but that was fine. This one moment of peace in this hectic world, for me was everything. After hearing all that there was just no way I could even think of returning to ruin the happiness she’s built for herself, that would be far too selfish of me and the last thing I want for her.

“Thanks, ODIN.”

“I was merely doing my job. Though I do not particularly think that this is a good time, but I do have some more reports to make, would you like to know about them? They are regarding the matters of the new world.”

“I guess it couldn’t hurt. I feel like I’ll be here for a long time after all.”

“Understood. The report I wish to make is in regards to the celestial body that is headed for a direct impact course with this planet.”

“What?”

“As my faculties have gone unused for quite a while now I do not have the accurate answers as to when this event will occur but I estimate that it would be take around 20 ~ 25 years. The resulting collision of the two of the two planets will not result in total annihilation but a rare celestial event known as [Planetary Fusion]; [Earth] and the incoming celestial body will fuse into a larger planet, this is due to the fact that both planets have been coated in [element 747] or also known as [Mana].”

What? Celestial collision? But the Earth, Eternis won’t end up with mass annihilation but fusion? The world will get bigger? Wait, wait, wait, this is too much information, too fast.

“What will happen when we fuse?”

“That answer is unknown.”

“How long will this event last for?”

“That answer is unknown.”

“Then how do we prevent it?!”

“That answer is unknown.”

“Are there any life forms on that celestial body?”

“That answer is unknown.”

“Do you know anything?! This is a serious problem, you can’t just tell me this out of nowhere! Wait, wait, wait, just give me a second; let me just try to comprehend all this.”

Now that I think about it, this may be Earth but it is not the same planet I used to know, this is an entirely different world. Then my first priority is to know the nature of this new, evolved Earth. I need to get re-educated; the kind of life that inhabits this planet, the kind of natural laws that exists, the moon and stars are all different, the land and seas too.

“ODIN, how much data do you have on this planet?”

“Most probably to you, the answer would be insufficient. I apologize, my faculties have been damaged and I my analysis of this world has slowed down tremendously.”

I clicked my tongue. I figured as much, considering what was happening to [Gladsheim] outside this room, it wasn’t surprising. So which one would be faster? Repairing this place or learning about the world from the outside? I guess the latter option is more practical as it gives me more experience, and it’s not like ODIN can’t make analysis of this world, it just would take a lot of time.

More headaches were piling up as soon as one of my problems disappeared. However, I guess I still have a family to protect in this world too, I need to have more information on this ‘rare celestial event’. How odd, I should be in a panic right now; screaming and shouting but I feel somewhat calm, maybe it’s because I’m at peace with what happened to Erin.

“Hah… Alright ODIN, then I want you to gather more information on the celestial event and give me a more detailed report the next time I visit.”

“I understood, though it may take a few years. Is that okay?”

“It’s not like we can speed it up any further right?”

“No.”

“Then it’s fine.”

“Understood.”

“Then before I go I have one last question. Though it’s a little doubtful that I’ll get a positive answer for this but. The [GUNGNIR] system… is it still operational? Considering the environment it was last left in, it might not be too farfetched to think that it may still… then again it has been 2 billion years.”

“The [GUNGNIR] system is still operation, but barely holding up. Most of its components have been preserved through cold welding, however I must caution you that it will most likely become beyond repair after a single use.”

“That will have to do. Then to use it I just need to access it through this weird [interface ability] correct?”

“It is possible to access [GUNGNIR’s] operations through your [personal interface], yes.”

“It seems you know more about this ability as well, to be honest I have a bunch of questions but the gallery is getting behind me is getting a little restless so I’ll ask on that next time then. I expect to hear good things later.”

“As you wish. Goodbye, Director Callahad.”

PART TWO

After my little… ‘trip’ with ODIN, inside [Gladsheim] we were back at the main hall of the palace of the underwater kingdom [Lani’tar]. Actually it feels a little embarrassing since these people witnessed me breaking down, but I’m sure they’ve had a lot of questions for me just hiding in their throats.

“I am thoroughly impressed Sir Morgant, I did not think you understood the ancient language of [Gladsheim].”

Queen Amaria compliments me.

“It’s quite elementary, Queen Amaria, I know a lot of things many people shouldn’t however even if you’re curious, a magician never reveals his secrets… is what I would usually say in this kind of situation but I myself have no idea how I knew that language. It just sort of… entered my head, I was able to comprehend it for some reason.”

It’s a little sad that I have to constantly lie in order to smooth things out, but telling her the truth now would be much more unbelievable and troublesome, so I’ll just go with this story. Queen Amaria takes a good look at me to see if I’m lying or not, but even if she has experience in cold reading, I’m confident I could fool her.

”I see, it could be that you were chosen by [Gladsheim]. That would be the most reasonable explanation given the events thus far. Still, it seemed like it was a fairly emotional experience there, if you don’t mind could you share it with the rest of us?”

Taking a look around the others were also nodding in agreement.

“The story of [Gladsheim] is a sad one, I was given its experience directly as though I was going through it personally. The story of a devil who was separated from his lover by time and fate.”

I gave them a rough idea of my back story, [Aura] and [Tytania] burst into tears as they heard the story, all the while shaking their heads as they told me they now understand why I was bursting into tears during my contact with ODIN. Well if I’m able to convince them with this then it’s fine I guess. They don’t particularly need to know the exact details of what happened after all.

“Now then, there is one more thing I wish to discuss with you all.”

I started and got all their attention. I explained to them about the celestial collision that would happen in 20 ~ 25 years in the future. I told them that it was a prophesy from [Gladsheim], to make it more believable. As I told them, they made serious faces as they contemplated on what they needed to do.

In the end we discussed the matter amongst ourselves but weren’t able to come up with and direct or solid countermeasure. For now we all agreed on waiting for [Gladsheim] to finish its calculations and analysis. The [Mermaids] did agree to provide their maximum support in the case I ever needed it as I had technically became their ‘prophet’ in order to communicate with [Gladsheim]’s will… or something like that.

I feel a little bad about lying to them about the actual circumstances but explaining technology and artificial intelligence seems to be beyond their understanding of science so it would be safer to just leave it as is. So in the end, I got myself a small [mermaid] army for backup, how reassuring.

PART THREE

A few more days had passed since I stayed at Lani’tar, I was feeling a little exhausted about everything that happened thus far. Now I was left alone with a girl in a single room. She was wearing incredibly revealing clothing, almost as though she was trying to tell me something y her attire.

Too bad that room we were in was the war room, I couldn’t think of a place any less sexy to rendezvous. Also it would be a diplomatic incident if I really touched this person anyway.

“I’m thankful for all you’ve done for us, Sir Morgant. I only wish there was some way we could repay you more properly.”

She tells me in a seductive manner. Now that I think about it, Queen Amaria Season was quite young for someone of her post, but that doesn’t mean she makes a bad queen, just impressive. She’s been managing her entire race so well up to now, as a former business man and CEO, she really does pique my interest, I would do almost anything to get her services.

“No, it’s quite fine, in fact I should be thank you. I feel like I’ve gained more between our exchange with this entire ordeal, and whatever happens from now on, we’ll be accomplices.”

I answered with a smile. That was the truth, I gained a powerful undead minion, that I couldn’t use yet, and I learnt a lot about my own past. It was a lonely feeling but a refreshing one all the same.

“You are truly modest, Sir Morgant.”

I wonder about that.

“Like I said, it’s fine. We’re a team and we’re in this together.”

“Yes, of course.”

She replied with a smile of her own.

“Say, what do you plan on doing with the two other visitors? [Raak] and [Tytania]?”

“As you said, Sir Morgant, we’re all in this together, that includes those two, we will allow them to stay here for as long as they like, but in future I suspect that they will be working with you more than us.”

“I see. Yeah, that may be true.”

Since I’ve yet to ascertain the truth behind the ‘sacred treasure’ that Tytania was keeping, who knows it could be a powerful weapon for something.

* * *

It was now time for me to return home. We were on the teleportation pad that we entered from.

“Once again, we’re all grateful for what you have done for us.”

Queen Amaria bowed towards us, I wasn’t so sure that a queen of an entire race should bow towards someone so many times but I guess it was how they showed their appreciation. Along with the queen was Miora, Tytania and Raak who decided to stay behind for a while, they told me that they’d be visiting Vertloch soon in regards to our newly formed alliance.

“The pleasure was all mine. I got to see and experience something extraordinary, this experience will surely last a life time.”

I was referring to [Gladsheim] of course, certainly if I never received this mission from Astaroth I would’ve been forever blinded to the truth and I never would’ve gotten Erin’s last message as well. Because of all of this, new work has piled up along with old work being finished.

"We hope you will visit again someday."

With that we finally left the underwater city of Lani'tar.

It has been one heck of a journey; I felt even more exhaustion than the last one I had but this was a valuable experience for me.
