《FATE TWO[sci-fi/fantasy LIT RPG]》CHAPTER 7: Floor 8/Memoires

“Old God” Tom whispered to himself, he knew better than to let anybody know about something like this. Tom, having read many stories in his times, knew the consequences of telling other people your super cool secret power.
While Tom was roaming the endless halls of the library he began to get antsy, he had just unlocked a power name,
Matter Repelling Palm
And, he had never even gotten the chance to use it. Tom was always worried someone would come and see him, and then the next thing he knows he’s in some cosmic jail of otherworldly entities or something. Tom decided to hell with it, he was going to try it on something seamless like a random wall.
As Tom prepared himself to use the spell, he closed his eyes and began to concentrate as he had multiple times before. He noticed the energy inside of himself had flowed much more easily, something he didn't realize his body was struggling with earlier. Tom began to wonder if it had something to do with Old God, and whatever that name entailed. He also wondered what the unknown meant, some of his spells said evolution while others said assimilation, maybe this was a new type. In the midst of his mind wandering Tom remembered he was still casting a spell and put more concentration into it.
With his full concentration, Tom felt his fingertips begin to go numb, this feeling began to spread until it reached the top of his arm. An eerie feeling told Tom that this numb feeling could hurt him if it continued to his head. With the numb feeling stopped at the top of his arm Tom closed his eyes and began to think about what antimatter really was. He was messing around with the literal destruction of particles, something that shouldn't exist. With the thought pushed to the back of his head Tom pushed the weird feeling past his fingertips and out into reality.
A thin layer of darkness coated Toms palm,
Matter Repelling Palm - Evolution Stage 1 10%
Tom felt fearful of the power he was wielding in his palm. He pressed it into a nearby wall and felt an indescribable feeling, It felt as though he could feel every particle under his palm getting destroyed individually. Just as Tom was cooling down and stopped supplying energy to his palm he heard a voice.
“Oh hi there mister” A girl's voice rang, but Tom couldn't pinpoint where it came from.
“Where are you talking to me from? I don't enjoy being spied on” Tom grew very serious. If she was what he did he may be trouble.
“Don't worry I have no plans on hiding myself, right now what I need to do is make a deal with you mister”
“We'll see about that but first you must show yourself”
Tom noticed a girl walk down one of the halls and straight towards him. She was the girl with blue hair he met earlier at the base of the library. After getting a closer look at her she looked very unique to say the least.
She had a dainty nose with a waist tapered down to her skirt, to top it off her one blue eye felt like it could make Tom do anything. A similar feeling he got every now and then when he stared into Selina’s eyes for too long.

“Hello again, friend.” she smiled and said to Tom.
Tom, not trying to get played by somebody clearly stronger than him, put on a straight face. “What do you want from me?”.
“I saw what you did there; that was no simple destruction spell, no I could sense that you destroyed something at the atomic level”
Tom realizing she read him like a book decided to admit it and see her motives. “What if I did, if you're not careful I’ll do it to you.”
“Haha please, I can tell you've never even killed a fly, but don't worry I’m here to make a deal. You use your funky powers to get through the 8th level door.”
“Let's pretend I do it, why do you need to get through the 8th level door you're already at that level aren't you?” Tom grew more and more confused by her motives.
“Kid you really know nothing, but that makes you cuter” The girl winked seductively.
Tom felt his heart jump but quickly calmed down and regained reason and fire back. “And what would you do if I said no to your proposition?”
“Nothing. Just know past that door is magic you would never believe, to put simply there are 4 gateways: Level 7, level 8, and level 100. After getting to level 7 the only way to get to level 8 is by making something unique and having it reviewed”
“Okay so… Just do that.”Tom grew more confused with everything the blue-haired girl said.
“All you need to know is I don't have time and with your powers, we can get through. Now, do you want to see what a level 99 or possibly 100 spell looks like?”
Tom dumbstruck knew he wanted to say yes, with his whole being all he wanted to do was say yes. But, he was cautious “That sounds cool and all but I don't want to get thrown in cosmic magic jail?”
“Trust me you won't?” The blue-haired girl put her hand out waiting for Tom to shake it.
Tom initially planned on saying no and continuing his experiments. But then, he remembered the dream he had a few days ago, he knew he had to get stronger.
“Fine, but first I need to know your name.”
“How rude of me, I'm Mary, and you?”
“Its Tom, but you may call me your highness.”
“Haha, that's funny, okay your highness if we succeed i'll even bow to you.”
Tom shrugged his shoulders and began walking towards the stairwell anxiously looking around him for people, mentally preparing to cast that antimatter spell again. As they approached the door Tom grew more and more nervous, but at the same time focused on steeling his heart on whatever was to come, he knew he couldn't let history repeat itself.
“So what exactly am I doing miss Mary”
“Your highness you are just simply touching the door, now the hard part is we need to make it to the eighth floor, there are thousands of people on the 7th floor and if you get caught they will report you.”
“Is there no one on the eighth floor?” Tom questioned.
“Between floors 8 and 99 there are not a lot of people to worry about, trust me.” Tom nodded his head and with the spell recast on his palm and touched the door, this time it felt different as he was destroying magic. After destroying the magic Tom felt the difference between matter and magic, It felt like a whole different type of energy.

Old God - Unknown
The voice rang in his head again old god, the ability got triggered again, it didn't ring with assimilation or evolution, it was unknown. Tom put the thought into the back of his head not noticing the new strand of silver hair. After walking through the door Tom looked around. The 7th floor was not merely the 7th floor, it was colossal, compared to the other floors the shelves towered over the people. Hundreds of ladders covered the walls and equally thousands of people were standing in the initial section of the 7th floor”
“Come on kid I know it looks impressive, I was the same way but past that door.” Mary pointed to the door leading up to the eighth floor, “Lies something much greater.”
Tom began to prepare his spell again, he knew they were not waiting around, he had to be ready as soon as they got to the door to remove suspicion. As they began to get closer to the door Tom's hand was slowly getting darker, and some of the people noticed.
“Hey, kids there are no spells in the library” The man yelled attempting to approach Tom and Mary. Tom and Mary both began to walk faster trying to not draw further attention to themselves. As they approached the door the man attempted to grab them.
Tom touched the door and felt the destruction of magic again. As he walked through with Mary the door closed behind him leaving the man chasing them on the 7th floor in awe. “I've never seen such young people move up to the high floors.” He mumbled to himself as he returned to studying.
Tom felt like his heart was going to beat out of his chest. While he was catching his breath he noticed mary fall to her knees Tom had yet to look up.
“So this is the library connected to every building inside of the city, the library that housed the floors 8 to 100, this is the legend of Gazra city”
Tom’s interest piqued; he looked up only to notice a normal looking library. The stairs between floors only consisted of a normal staircase and did not include the elaborate spiral he saw in the earlier floors. The whole floor felt underwhelming, but when he turned to look at Mary again she was crying.
“What's wrong, is it that underwhelming?” Tom asked.
“Just the opposite,” She cried. Her one black eye shimmered, “If you could feel the magic in this room you'd be in the same state I am.”
“Ha, maybe but let's open a book,” Tom strolled over to one of the books on the bookshelf, and read the title.
Fireball
Tom's face drooped while he read the title out loud, it was just a simple fireball, a simple spell even found on the first floor.
“Give me that” Mary snatched the book out of Tom's hand, her black eye began to shimmer as she read part of the book. She walked over to one of the walls and silently spoke an incantation.
While Tom did not expect much he waited for her to finish casting her spell. Just as he was about to sit down he noticed a small spark in her hand begin to flare up.
“Ha, that's a fireball on the eighth floor” Tom laughed, he risked his life just to see this type of spell. As he was about to walk away to find something more interesting he read another spark.
Boom, Tom ducked Mary’s hand and it was charred black on the outside. The bookshelves were unharmed due to some magic field. But, Tom was still able to tell what kind of Damage just taken place.
“You were saying little man? that kid, is the eighth out of one hundred and one floors. Most of these spells are the final works of many mages, this bottom floor is usually the average mage final spells they create in life.”
Tom felt like a giddy child and was about to run off trying to find the coolest book he could. Just as he began climbing the stairs he heard Mary’s voice yelling
“We are only going to be here for another hour. We have one last task so study wisely before we escape.”
Tom headed for the 100th floor; the stairs weren't large and the entire section between the 8th and hundredth floor felt underwhelming. Tom saw only a few people studying all of which paid no attention to him, it seemed as if they were entranced in their studying.
Tom was two-thirds the way on the 66th floor when he felt a pull. He looked around just to see no one. He turned back around to continue to climb the stairs but his body wouldn't let him, it desired the sixty-sixth floor. Tom shivered as he had never felt this type of pull, it felt as if something was pulling on his soul like they were attracted to each other.
Tom decided to investigate it walking down every hallway that eased his feelings. This led to Tom hearing noises in his head but not the normal kind.
Magic is created from desire and energy.
Magic Stems from chaos and its desire to always change forms.
Magic is life.
Tom felt as if he was learning all about magic, at least if it made any sense he would have. He finally walked down a hall that almost fully eased his heart. He knew if he was going to find whatever his soul was attracted to there.
As he kept walking down he heard one last sentence
Mechan does not like my perspective of magic I believe he has plans
Tom, confused by the whole ordeal, decided to follow his heart and pick up a book. The book Tom picked up was a red and gold book with no hopes for it being good as it didn't contain an embroidered.
Just as Tom touched it his vision went dark. When he opened his eyes he saw a flash of thousands of pictures, incoherent memories and everything. On the outside his body was ageing again. But just as quickly as he snapped into his trance his body forced him awake from the trance, it seemed he wasn't ready to see it. Tom picked up the book but heard the title in his head before reading it
Memoirs of the past.

The Ones Among Us
Friends stumble onto something that redefines what it means to be a One Percenter.
8 200Papercuts to Fell Immortals
Qing Shen is a girl from the counrtyside, forced into a role she never wanted by a Young Master who's infamy is spread throughout the land. As a Cultivator in the path to immortality, Qing Shen has to deal with her own problems as well as the mysteries surrounding her Young Master. Things, however, are not as they seem, and the young girl finds that sometimes the truth is more unbelievable than the lies we often follow. . . . If you want a less hidden-meaning summary: This story is about the struggles of one girl as she tries to become an Immortal. There won't be any meaningful romance, but there will be a plot that spans most of the story, and violence. Oh the violence! I'm not going to say that my ideas are 100% original (because hoo boy are there a lot of Wuxia), but hopefully I can write something entertaining. Guaranteed things: 1. Cliche events with a twist (I mean, it's literally in the description) 2. Important Characters will have backstories and motivations that will hopefully make them not one-dimensional (honestly, that's just normal stuff...) 3. Untrustworthy characters (everyone in the story lies, even me, so don't trust everything you read... but at the same time, trust everything you read) 4. Goodish grammar (not gonna say mine's the best, but it's readable in most cases) 5. Plot! (Everywhere!) 6. worldbuilding? (Should be there somewhere, but I probably won't do blatant info dumps... probably) 7. Character development? (Its there... at some point...) 8. The story gets dark at some points (if you don't like characters dying, then this might not be your cup of tea) 9. A strong main character? (She'll be strong, yes. However, her enemies are also strong. If everyone is strong, then is she no longer strong? My brain hurts) 10. Wow, this list is going on for awhile... uh, Believable and reasonable Action? (I mean, I'm writing for mainly my fun, so if I want a fight scene, then I might craft a scenario to explain it... or I might suddenly throw in a Dragon and call it a day) This story also goes by the same name over on Webnovel.com, but I'm going to be updating it here because, well I want to. They are both by me, and created by me. If there's anything that seems like a copy of another work, then that's just the genre being saturated by everything under the sun.
