《Manablood Mellie》Chapter 8: A supply run or a murder spree?

If you were to look down the main streets of the crumbling town of Otterden, you might catch a flicker here, or a flicker there as a woman dashed shadow to shadow to save her ally. Mellie stilled in the shadow next to the torchlight by the Creeky Dodger. She was feeling spooky and savage with her skills and spells but she really didnt want to fall in the water and there were too many crewmates by the steps. She pulled out her list.
Hairbrush, Toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, shampoo, conditioner, socks, underwear, lighter, more gold, healing potions!, travel rations, storage item?
She wanted to ask her allies what they needed for the trip but she wasn't sure if the question "would you prefer a slaver or a pair of socks?" was an appropriate way to ask the question. "I should think bigger. Like a pack of socks!" she thought. She crossed out socks and wrote PACK OF SOCKS next to it. Intelligence +1! She smiled and kept brainstorming.
Mellie waited. Mellie was good at waiting. Mellie was waiting her entire life to be more, to have allies worth saving. These people didnt know her but they needed her and she needed them. It had only been a few days but it felt like a lifetime. Her emotions were high, her nerves were shaky. She breathed slowly, becoming one with the shadow and her moment presented itself. She slinked from the port to the candlights shadow in the captains quarters of the Creeky Dodger.
Shadowalk lvl 21!
When Mellie landed on the ship she was startled by the half naked slob snoring loudly falling out of his bed. Jarroll Lycor, Pirate Captain lvl 16 Food and booze and puke were all over the room. She gagged. Mellie decided soap was the first supply she was collecting. Especially after walking through this room. She held her nose stood on her tippy toes, held her arm out holding her wand in her hand and tapped him willing her spell. A small chained woman yelped as the captain dissappeared a gallon of bleach dropped on top of her. Dammit. That was supposed to be shampoo. Level up!

Before Mellie had time to react the woman whispered in a meager voice, "Did Papa send you to help me? Because I don't think there's any helping me anymore." Mellie stopped moving towards the door. She found her resolve. Slowly without frightening the girl, she raised her mask and slipped from the shadows.
Rhiannah Clark Slave lvl 1
"You're alive. You'll survive and the horrors of today will be yesterdays bathwater tomorrow. " She dumped the bleach over the rancid food.
"They made me switch classes. It was either that or they took my baby sister. Now this is what I am. I have no future anymore. Papa spent his lifesavings on my Farmer class stone. I don't know how I'll survive." She whimpered.
"The life you want is out there. I'll help you find it."
She took her manablood key from her purse and tried to unlock the girls shackles. They wouldnt give. She used truthseeker on the key.
Intelligence +1!
Manablood key, empty
Crafted by the only demonkin hybrid. Emptied of manablood. Like a skeleton key when charged. Can form to open any lock.
She was struggling with the morality of turning a man into a steak dinner for the captive but ham sandwich won the coin toss. "Having powers and knowing when and how to use them are two different things." She laughed to herself.
Well the problem was obvious. "I promise I'll be right back." The girl didnt look hopeful. The burn scars across her forehead glistened in the candlight. They were subtle but there. She was still beautiful, marred as she was. It made her look authentic but she didnt know what could have caused such burns but this wasnt her world so it could even be a tribal thing. Mellie didnt know but her heart was heavy.

Mellie stood in the shadow of the door with her stick waiting for a crewmate to pass. "Knife knife knife" Mellie thought as she stuck her hand out the door to grab the man. He arm shot out "Oof" in the chest and as she willed it, he turned into a knife. She caught the knife midair, noticing it had a penis shaft. Fucks sake. Not again. Since she already cut herself catching the knife, with her back turned she covered the key and wrapped up her hand with an old shirt. She turned back around to the wary captive. Thankfully the girl, Rhiannah she was called, hadn't seen or understood what Mellie'd done. After some whispering Mellie talked Rhiannah into hiding in the closet until she returned.
The torchlight flickered on the deck of the Creeky Dodger. As the ship rocked with the ocean, so did the shadows. Mellie slipped closer to the deckhand in front of her Barry Styles Pirate Slaver lvl 14 "ham sandwich ham sandwich" she thought as she poked him with her stick. And the egghead shaped man turned into a egg salad sandwich.
Level up!
She caught it midair before it sloughed all over the deck and slipped back into the captains cabin. Quickly she slipped the sandwich in the cupboard Rhiannah was hiding in, closed it and continued back out the door to continue shopping and to find her ally.
There were 4 more slavers on the top deck. Level up! Level up! Level up! Level up! Level 19! The hairy one became a Hairbrush. The snaggletooth one became a Toothpaste and toothbrush set. The third one became a shampoo conditioner 2 in 1 and the last one became clothes and shoes for Rhiannah. Once the deck was clear of all activity, she slipped back into the captains quarters to shove proper clothes to the girl inside the cabinet. Everyone deserves a little dignity.
What must be the door to the slaves cells were behind the door in front of Mellie. She assured herself that her titles and the system would rescue them all. She was a Manablood Savior. She took a deep breath and Jamie Lycor Slavemaster lvl 20 swung the door open with Mellie smack dab in front of him.

S̶a̶m̶u̶r̶a̶i̶
I post at least once a week. I cannot promise you a story you enjoy reading, but I can promise you a story I enjoy writing. Thank you. ------------------------------------------ The sword is greater than a simple weapon; an answer to life's questions. An extension of thine master's hand, guided by wrist. Care it not whether guilty or innocent blood shed, for be it a mere edge, a weapon. For blade that forgets or refuses to cut be shameful, meaningless, disgraceful. Nay, be it considered a tool at all? What dost the weapon do when the steel hath no guide, that the master hath mingled far? Doth it Stay? Perhaps quiver at possibility, the loss of reason for existence? Or does it go forth into the unknown, guided by merely the wind and the edge? A wandering sword, a phantom blade- A lone Samurai. ------------------------ Credit to Nicklas Gustaffson for the image. TM: Monster
He died and his soul travelled across the void and ended up taking over the body of a member of one of the weakest races ever. Even worse than a goblin or slime. It was ok though, as long as he had a positive mental attitude, he could live a happy life… Nope. Interdimensional wars? An all-powerful cosmic entity called the System that will grant all your wishes for a price? Survival of the fittest? In a universe far different from his old one he will reach the Zenith. (TM stands for transmigrated which is different from reincarnation. At the very least I have my own idea on the difference between the two) (Yes the title is a play on Re:Monster which is my first light novel)

The Queen of School
Hi there, my name is Jason Corvus, you can call me Raven. My parents really (like a lot) wanted to have a boy, so when they found out that I was a girl, they still put me a boyish name. When my father was alive he always wanted to go to Tyndall Quantic Soren high school, but to the common people it was known as an elite school, but in reality, it is a school for those who are more than simple humans. My mother told me to fulfill his last wish and go to that school, but I am not that excited about it. Well, whatever. This time things seem more complicated than before, and I have no idea how long this time will last.
