《Binary Progression: Torrented Edition》Top Hats Are Cool, that is all

After slaying many more minions, the group finally reached the large chamber which served as the home for the arch-lich of poison and disease.
The room was big and very wide, the cold, sterile bricks didn’t allow for any life to grown on them.
Around the room stood dozens of pipes, some large enough to fit Bonifacius, others too small to fit one’s fist.
Big, semi-circular pockets were cut into the sides of the walls as if they were the walls of a crypt where bodies would lay.
Metal grates coated the floor, green ooze lay under the rusty metal as the nauseous fumes coated the floor like a blanket of smoke
“XxFoxlyxX: I feel John has an unfair advantage in this fight…” he remarked
From the green vapours which coated the floor manifested the ghastly form of the next boss.
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: Mortals… You’ve reached my chambers…” it remarked, glancing that the four battered players.
Unlike the pervious lich, this on seemed almost depressed.
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: I suppose that means Mal was defeated…” he said to himself.
The form of the arch-lich became plain to see now, he looked almost human, clad in a black coat which dragged on the ground, from it hung belts and pouches filled with various powders and liquids.
Around his neck, he wore a grey scarf with cartoony white skulls sewn into it.
His long hair and skin were bleached white.
Large, round glasses rested upon his nose.
Upon his head was a top hat
“♛: The fight is pretty easy, just try and get its health down, I’ll take care of the poison!” she said, glancing down to her [Purify] spell which was capable or cleansing poisons from players.
“Bonifacius: Alright!”
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: Let’s get started then…” said the legless spectre, he lifted a gloved hand into the air and snapped his fingers.
The room began to shake as the iron grids of the drains began to tremble.
The liquid within began to bubble up and rise, until the rusted, metal bars burst open, splashing green ooze onto everyone.
JohnWillStab got splash right across the face, aside from a green-liquid overlay on his screen, representing the slime in his eyes, his health didn’t change as he began slashing at the lich haphazardly.
Bonifacius’ armour managed to protect him from getting poisoned this time, he charged at the boss, his shield smashing into its ethereal form with a rumble that almost knocked the lich to the ground.

Foxly’s character began to panic as the green ooze started melting his face off.
“XxFoxlyxX: THIS LOOKS SPICY!” he cried as he turned towards ♛, awaiting her healing.
♛ cast two spells in rapid succession, one to cure the poison, the other to heal him.
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: I see… I suppose you would not be so easy to slay if you made it past him…” he sighed, glancing over to the pipe-covered walls of his room before snapping his fingers again.
The room began to tremble as the sound of liquid echoed from within the length of the brass pipes protruding from the walls.
JohnWillStab slashed at the undead relentlessly while his attention remained focused on the party’s tank.
With one of its long arms, the lich swung a metal rod which served as its staff.
The weapon clashed with Bonifacius’ shield, causing him to slide a few meters across the room, his boots leaving deep gashes in the stone floor.
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: The ignorance of mortals never ceases to amaze me…”
That’s when the pressurized liquid from the pipes began to spray out as it slowly collected into puddles and later into a thin blanket of ooze on the entire floor of the chamber.
♛ was barely keeping up with the healing and poison-removal as XxFoxlyxX finally sensed his chance to strike.
He slapped a card showing a cloud with a bolt of lightning onto the boss, when he activated it, a glistening steak of lighting pierced the lich’s body causing a swarm of sparks to fly out as the boss convulsed from the electricity racing through his undead form.
Its health remained around the fifty-percent mark as it zoomed away from Bonifacius so quickly it might as well have teleported.
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: I see… so this is how you defeated him…” he said with a heavy-hearted sigh.
The boss reached into its coat, he pulled out a glass vial with a glowing, yellow liquid.
He poured it into its mouth and held it there for a few seconds before breathing out cloud of yellow gas.
“♛: Don’t stand in the clouds!” she warned as both Foxly and Bonifacius jumped back to relative safety.
Confidently, JohnWillStab ran at the boss, ready to continue to chip its health away.
“JohnWillStab: Don’t worry, this is the perfect job for an undead, I got this!” he grinned.
“♛: NO, YOU DON’T! THE GAS IS CORROSIVE, NOT POISONOUS!”
“JohnWillStab: What does that mean?” John asked running through a heavy, low-laying cloud of gas.

His character fell to the ground moments later as his molten legs which were already dissolved down to the bone snapped in half, the blackened flesh and bone the remained began to crumble away.
“JohnWillStab: Oh…”
Before ♛ could heal him, a cloud moved over John, when it moved off his body, only a few blackened bones remained.
“(Dead)JohnWillStab: …”
“(Dead)JohnWillStab: I kind of suck at this…” he remarked.
Bonifacius dodged a slow-moving cloud of gas before looking over to John.
“Bonifacius: Fear not! Thou are doing great for thy first dungeon!”
XxFoxlyxX reached for a card with the image of a gust of wind and tossed it into one of the clouds only for the card itself to dissolve.
“XxFoxlyxX: S#*t!” he opened his inventory and looked through his remaining cards.
“Freeze x2”
“Firestarter x2”
“Lightning x1”
“Light x1”
“Explosion x1”
“XxFoxlyxX: I used up my water cards!” he said, looking to his party members.
“Bonifacius: Fear not! For I have a plan!” he exclaimed confidently.
His skin turned reflective and metallic as the ability [Titan Flesh] was activated.
Bonifacius targeted the half-dead boss and used his charge ability to zoom across the room to the foe.
The speed at which he moved parted the gas like the red sea.
While Bonifacius exchanged blows with the boss in his metallic form, XxFoxlyxX used this opportunity to land a hit on the boss.
As the waves of flesh-melting and bone-eroding gas began to close.
“WHAT THE FUCK IS HE THINKING?!” ♛ thought, seeing the frogman running to his death.
“♛: WHAT THE F#*K ARE YOU DOING?!”
“(Dead)JohnWillStab: F#*K HIM UP, FOXLY!”
“♛: DON’T ENCOURAGE HIM!” she hissed, turning to face John’s corpse.
XxFoxlyxX reached into his inventory and pulled out a lighting card, he threw it at the boss.
Moments later the card became active as Foxly became consumed by the smoke resulting in his death.
“♛: NICE JOB, RETARD!” She yelled, pointing to Foxly’s corpse.
“(Dead)XxFoxlyxX: Whoops”
With a shining streak of pure light, the electricity ravaged the lich’s body, tearing chunks off and igniting parts of his clothing.
The entire time it trembled as its health slowly ticked down during the unending assault.
Bonifacius ran his blade into the boss’ chest with a wet, slicing sound effect.
As soon as his blade made contact with its body, the electricity jumped through it and into Bonifacius, forcing him to let go of the sword which remained imbedded in the dying lich.
With about half of his total health and suffering the effects of temporary paralysis thanks to the lightning, Bonifacius fell to the ground with an earth-trembling landing.
♛ could see it, their tank and both DPSs were either dead or knocked out, leaving only her, the healer to fight the boss who still had almost ten-percent of its maximum health.
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: I see… It looks like truly mighty heroes have appeared here… for once…” he remarked, trying to get back up to his feet.
He fell to the ground, as the sword lodged in its body slowly drained its health.
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: Who would have expected… Such a group to come here after all… right, Mal?” he asked with a disheartened smile, he glanced to the two corpses and the man spazzing out on the ground with sparks flying off his body.
Slowly, a few green, poisonous tears began to streak down the still-smiling face of the lich.
As his health reached one-percent, his eyes left the party members, instead he stared off into the distance, blankly.
The arch-lich turned towards the player, contemplating telling them something.
He decided not to tell them anything.
“Simon the Arch-Lich of Poison: We’ll be waiting for you… guys…” he said before lowering his head as his eyes glazed over.
The lich’s body fizzled away into green smoke, leaving behind only a skeleton wearing a top hat.
A few minutes later, John and Foxly respawned.
Aside from money, the boss dropped a top hat which went to Bonifacius and a scarf which John got to keep.
It was called “The Lich’s Gift” and allowed the user to half their maximum stamina for ten minutes in order to evade one physical attack.
Naturally, this essentially meant John could block one attack for free every ten minutes.
He put it on, revealing it to be a striped, white and grey scarf with emoji-like skulls sewn into it.
“JohnWillStab: This… looks terrible…” he said glaring at the scarf in shock.
“XxFoxlyxX: I mean… it could be worse…!” he offered.
Bonifacius nodded vigorously.
“JohnWillStab: I LOOK LIKE I’M WEARING AN EDGY CHRISTMAS DECORATION!” he cried.
And so, the group continued through the door to the third boss, the skeletal serpent, and the final destination of the four-man group as far as ♛ was concerned.
