《A Time for Leisure》Chapter 10.5: Love

The hours passed as Amelia peacefully slept beside Caz. It was about 6 AM when Caz and Amelia caught the assassin and brought him over to Elder Diaz and it only took about an hour or so to get the situation 'handled'. It was still very early now as it was only 9 AM. Caz had decided to let Amelia sleep for a few more hours as she must have had a lot of mental stress from the events that happened earlier. The main reason as to why he let her sleep was because Caz was too lazy to get out of bed.
Sleeping in late was considered a relatively big taboo in the cultivation world, as you went higher up in cultivation, sleep wasn't a necessity. Caz never cared for this as he always went to sleep early and woke up late.
Caz closed his eyes a few minutes after Amelia fell asleep, and unsurprisingly, Amelia woke up first.
Amelia saw that Caz was loudly snoring again and rolled her eyes. She was still holding onto his sleeve when she woke up, for some reason, it felt like as long as she held onto his sleeve, no harm would ever befall onto her. She was curious as to why this happened at first but eventually threw the thought to the back of her mind.
She gently pulled the blanket off and walked towards the kitchen and quietly made a pot of tea, as it was still early and no new disciples had anything to do for the first week or so, even core disciples, she just decided to laze around until her 'lockdown' was over. It seemed that Caz had an influence over her as she never liked being lazy until now.
Pouring the tea into a small cup, she walked back over to the bed and sat down and pulled the blanket over her legs as she sat up straight. She slowly sipped on her tea as she just looked at the childish sleeping face of Caz. It gave her a sense of comfort and security when she was around this seemingly unreliable boy.

Still loudly snoring, Caz had no idea that someone was staring at him. He was in his own little world as he tossed and turned in his sleep.
Amelia restrained her laugh with her hand as she saw Caz wiggle in his sleep. As she laughed in her head, the gentle look in her eyes had increased. She never expected that in her time of need that her saviour would be this boy that was only about 3 years older than her.
While looking at him, the unfamiliar feelings appeared in her heart once more. She had a vague feeling as to what these feelings were but was a bit too embarrassed to admit to them. Something about this boy had made her feel something she had never felt before, she wanted more of it. Putting her cup of tea on the table beside the bed, she slowly pulled the blanket over the rest of her body.
Turning her body to face Caz, she slightly smiled as she pulled herself towards him and started clinging to his arm. Caz made no movements as even his snores didn't stop. Amelia just gently smiled as she looked at him still snoring away.
Amelia felt even more secure as she leaned her body against his. This man had made her awaken to something she hadn't felt before, in just the short span of about 2 days. It was something that she had craved for years and years, ever since she was a child, ever since she could read, and ever since she could start cultivating. Love. Not familial love, but pure old-fashioned love.
Now that she had this unexpected feeling, she was not going to let anything take it away from her. If someone or something wanted to take this feeling from her, they would have to take it from her cold, dead corpse.
A wave of comfort and drowsiness suddenly hit her as she clung to his arm tightly. Slowly closing her eyes with a peaceful smile, she entered the dream world once more with Caz in her embrace.
