In the city of Yoar
The year thirty eight
Solmin found himself stuck
At a time very late
With a thoughtful light frown
He slept as though dead
Still sat in his chair
Too many books read
In the book room was he
Open tomes all around
In a dream did he see
Some wood in a mound
He stared for a tic
Unknown what it meant
As he gazed deep in thought
Up in flames it then went
So sudden the action
So confusing the thought
He was shocked from the vision
To reality brought
Not a second he wondered
What could it all mean
'Fore the answer was clear
The air was not clean
A sound a floor down
There came quite a clatter
He arose from his seat
To see what was the matter
But touching his door
He found it too hot
His hand was now burned
An escape this was not
Silent fear entered him
So he called out for help
Some floor then fell in
His shout turned to a yelp
Surrounded was he
By shelves heavy with lore
The boards weakened with flame
They fell through the floor
What was he to do
With no path through the door
He lived three floors up
And had no wings to soar
Still he ran to the window
In search of some hope
Not stopping to look
He knows there's no rope
So he shouts loud and far
As folks in the street
Now realize the house
Houses not only heat
The searing heat rises
Flames leap and they soar
Smoke now becomes choking
He can't take any more
In his last desperate cries
To make breathing less hard
He lowers his head
But he leans out too far

Beloved Protection from a nine tailed fox
Kieren is a young man who is the heir of his family's powerful corporation. He grew up learning from his beloved grandmother who not only taught him the skills needed to run his family corporation but also how to love, responsibility and most importantly how to stay alive as a half kitsune in the land of demons which is accessible through the dreams of powerful aristocratic bloodlines. This is my first time writing a story and constructive criticism is welcome. Please feel free to comment on anything you might find wrong with the story. Also I have a full outline of the story made so I will most likely not end up dropping this story in the middle like some authors have done. Enjoy!

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com. This piece of work, after all, is only a first draft and by no means an end product by an amateur (beginner) writer. Mistakes are bound to happen. With that said, I will strive to improve as I write. Feel free to point out errors and inconsistencies as you read. I thank you for your time. Finally, I pledge to not rewrite this novel until the first draft is completed.
