Zaine, bandaged and worn, continues down the bushy path leading the others to a destroyed city from the past, flooded with rubble and debris, dreadfully lonely skyscrapers soaring high above them, shielding the light from the sun as it begins to set and shadows begin to crawl across the floor, as they expanded, depriving the area of light. Fe and Cu amazed by the tall structures that surrounded them, continue to follow Zaine with their metallic heads tilted to the sky, examining the buildings and scenery.

Zaine: "It'll be dark soon and we're only halfway there, we should rest here and wait out the night."

Fe: "Agreed, it wouldn't be safe for Axel to travel in the cold night."

Zaine: "That's not the reason, scavengers lurk the streets in hordes at night, so plenty more than the three that followed you this morning. And with an incoming search party from that Primor-whatever, it's best not to be on the move during the night in case they locate us. If we are found it would be easy to split us up in the dark, instead, we should hide among a hard to search area such as this one."

Cu: "But if we're located, a ' hard-to-search ' area wouldn't matter, they can just scan for all metallic beings and sniff us out."

Zaine: "Not when I have a scrambler, they won't be able to scan shit. So they would be forced to search for us the old fashioned way"

Cu: "Oh, impressive but..."

Zaine: "Just shut up, we'll be fine. We should get to high ground so we can see whatever approaches us. So let's make our way to the top of one of these buildings."

Fe: "Do you have more of that animal's milk you gave Axel earlier? It has been approximately 4 hours since he last ate."

Zaine: "yeah but I didn't get it for a damn baby, how do you know he's even hungry, doesn't seem bothered to me"

Axel immediately burst into tears,

Zaine: "Seriously?"

Zaine sighs and reaches into his backpack for a bottle of cow's milk.

Zaine: "Give me, let me feed him this time, this lil sucker isn't drinking more than he needs of my milk!"

R3D: "Breeeeee Ooooooooooop!"

Zaine: " What? It's my milk! Don't judge me!"

Fe giggles as she hands Axel over to Zaine

Zaine: "You know I find it strange that a bot can find something to be funny and react to that. But enough chatter, let's get going. We'll head into the building on the right couple blocks down since it's one of the tallest and has a vantage point to see any incoming machines from all directions"

They all walk around and climb large chunks of rumble as they make their way to the building, eventually arriving at its entrance. Broken windows, vine-infested floors, and an old and clearly stiff revolving door. Zaine approaches the stiff door and nudges it with his shoulder, realizing that the door is glued in place to the floor from the vines and rust.

Zaine: "Fe and Cu come and push this door open since I'm holding Axel"

Cu walks up to the old door and begins to push, barely nudging the door slightly forward.

Zaine: "Aren't you guys at least strong? Geez pathetic"

R3D: "Breeeee Oooop!"

Zaine: "Because I'm holding the child R3D, and maybe you should have some manners too."

R3D: "brreeee oooop"

Fe: "Let me try Cu"

Fe steps to the door and looks down to the vines that are clasped to the frame of the door. She reaches down and pulls the vines up, uprooting the large vines and releasing tons of crawling insects and worms.

R3D: "BREEEEEEE OOOOOOOOOP!"

Zaine: "It's just a couple of bugs R3D, rela.... wait is something crawling on me?!"

Zaine hops frantically to the side with Axel caressed in his arms, drinking from the bottle of milk as he closes his eyes drifting off to sleep. Fe then kicks the rusted frame at the bottom, breaking the rest of the door free from its fixed position. The door then swings across, rotating inward.

Fe:" Ok got the door open"

Zaine: "Well, head on in, I'll be right there, just making sure none of those bugs got on me"

Fe walks forward as the door rotates with her sending her into a 360-degree loop,

Fe: "What is this contraption? How do you operate it to get to the other side?"

Zaine: "Are you being serious right now?"

Cu: "Let me try"

Cu joins in, pushing on the door, and rotates the door walking in a full circle as well. Both still stuck inside the rotating door having no clue how to use it.

Zaine: "Oh my gosh, ok...ok...ok this is what I'm stuck with"

Zaine walks up to the door and enters, rotating the door until he got on the inside.

Zaine: "See? Just step forward once the door turns giving you an opening, it's not that hard, just don't follow the door!"

Fe and Cu: "Got it"

Fe and Cu both continue to walk in circles within the revolving door.

Zaine: "Ok give me your hands!"

Zaine then leads them out of the revolving door, and R3D enters with no problem.

Cu: "How did you master that contraption R3D?"

R3D: "Breee ooop"

Zaine: "A lot of practice?! Ok, you two shut up and you too R3D"

R3D: "Breeeeeeee Oooooop"

They then begin to ascend the building, with its old and decayed interior.

Zaine: "At least the stairs are still intact, lets try to reach the top before the sun sets"

Finally reaching the top, the red giant resting upon the horizon, sinking lower each minute, disappearing from view, having the surrounding clouds dyed red in the sky.

Fe: "It's beautiful, what is this phenomenon?"

Cu: "That truly is amazing"

Zaine: "It's called a sunset...You guys never saw a sunset before?"

Fe: "The streets of the city are crowded by all the massive buildings. Unless you had a flying car, there's no way to see anything below our City line"

Zaine: "Below the city line?"

Cu: "Our city rest on top of a mountain it seems"

Zaine: "Interesting, anyway now that we are finally on the roof, each person holds a corner so we can have eyes on each perimeter and be on the lookout for any incoming enemies."

Fe and Cu stand frozen in place with their eyes stuck to the Sunset.

Fe: "Zaine, are there more humans? I thought Axel to be the last of his kind, but are there more of you?"

Zaine: "You guys just can't go without asking questions can you?"

Fe: "Sorry, I know you said no questions"

Zaine: "I once had hoped I wasn't the only human left alive, after all, the world is so big how could I possibly know it for a fact. But as time went by, my hopes started to fade and I started to believe I truly was the only one left since I hadn't seen another human for fifteen years until I saw that child in your arms this morning. Then I realized, maybe I'm not alone. But humans must definitely be scattered far and wide because I've been searching, but... For fifteen years... All I saw were...Skeletons"

Fe and Cu stand in silence as the red glare of the sun shines atop the roof of the building, reflecting off their metallic bodies. Unable to speak another word they turn back to the sunset and stare off into the distance.

Zaine: "Anyway, that's enough questions from you two, especially you Fe"

Fe: "The photo you kept in your pocket, was that your family?"

Zaine: " I said enough questions! You got your one and only question for the day, no the week! Now go to a corner and watch the perimeter!"

Cu: " Do I get a question?"

Zaine: "Yes, and you just used it now go!"

R3D: "breee eeee ooopp"

Zaine: "Shut up R3D"

They both head off to each corner of the building, and with R3D's help, they watched the perimeter of the building while Zaine cared for Axel who fell fast asleep.

Suddenly, loud sounds of metal splitting through the air like the propeller of a helicopter "WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!" echoed through the sky above them.

Zaine: " What is that?!"

Fe: "I don't see anything, there's nothing approaching on this side."

Cu: "Nothing over here either but the sound, it's..."

Zaine: "Coming from the sky..."

They all looked to the sky above, covered in dark thick clouds, masking all the stars. Then the clouds started to disperse as a darkened steel silhouette descended from above.

Zaine: "How?! The scrambler should have left them unable to scan for us!"

Cu: "This is what I was telling you, they don't need to scan for metal... they just needed to look for heat signatures to identify a human, and they got two targets, including the really big one...You!"

Zaine: "Why didn't you say they could come from the sky?!"

Fe: "What is that tho? That's not a Ti9000!"

Cu: "No... It's worst!"

The winged machine emerged completely from the clouds, with glowing red eyes, and a bird-like body flapping two enormous wings. Blowing away any traces of clouds instantly out of his path with the large propellers integrated into its metallic wings, as it descended down. This machine was massive in size, dwarfing the entire circumference of the roof with its wingspan. Zaine holds on tight to the resting Axel as the force from the intense wind, propelled from the wings of the machine above them.

Zaine: "Get to the exit and head to the bottom of the building now! Take Axel and run I'll hold it off!"

Fe: "You can't!"

Cu: "You'll be exterminated!"

Zaine pushes Axel into the arms of Fe, and points to the exit leading to the staircase

Zaine: "Go!"

Cu grabs Zaine by the arm and pulls him along as they all run to the exit

R3D: "BRREEEEEEEEEEE OOOOOOOOOOP!"

Zaine then notices red lights in the distance down below as Cu pulls him by the arm to the exit

Zaine: "Let me go! Wait... what is that down below?"

Fe then halts and looks down to the red glowing lights emerging from the now dark and misty path.

Fe: "Oh no..."

Cu: "These are the elite squadron! A ground and air team!"

Cu screams with his robotic voice in terror as he witnesses the slender but menacing machines emerge from the tall grass. With their glowing red eyes and their reinforced titanium steel body, clearly battle-worn unlike the Ti9000s shiny exterior, and their advanced weaponry drew ready in hand. The massive machine in the sky then spots them, taking aim as large guns emerge from within its back, and begins to unload devastating beams of highly concentrated lasers onto the rooftop, piercing through the concrete and steel of the building like paper "BRRRRRRRRRR PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW".

Fe and the others dash into the exit's doorway, and bolts down the staircase as the destructive fire from above rain down through the roof, tearing the building apart. As they run down the staircase Fe shields Axel from any fire by having him cradled in her arms while Cu runs behind Zaine shielding him from any stray ammunition as well. Rubble and glass scatter across the floor.

R3D: "BREEEEEEEEEEEEEE OOOOOOOOOOP!"

As they all make their way down the building, surrounded by chaos and destruction. Suddenly "BADOOF!" a loud explosion occurs on the side of the building just above them "BOOM!", causing parts of the staircase and walls to cave in. The blast forces Zaine to the ground,

Zaine: "What was that!?"

Cu: "The ground team of the elite squadron, They must be launching missiles at the building from down below!"

Zaine: "Missiles?!"

Zaine quickly rushes back to his feet and glances through a hole in the wall where he sees the machines down below taking aim. He instantly equips himself with his rifle and takes aim through the hole. "BLAM!", he fires a shot directly at one of the machines hundreds of feet below him with a direct hit. A poof of smoke clouds the machine's face, but as it clears...

Zaine: "What the..."

It reveals itself to be unscathed, not even a scratch was made on the machine's titanium body, and it then immediately returned fire with its weapon, "PEW!". A laser blitz straight through the hole in the wall and pierces Zaine through the arm, all in a blink of an eye.

Zaine: "AHHH..."

Fe: "Zaine!"

Cu pulls Zaine to the ground away from any more incoming fire. "BOOM!", another loud explosion impacts the building, shaking the entire structure. The entire building begins to lean to the side as it collapses onto a nearby building. Fe and others fall to the floor on the staircase and slide straight into a hallway of one of the top floors. Sliding all the way down to a large window wall of glass. "THUD! CRACK! THUD! CRACK! THUD! CRACK!", They collide into the glass slightly cracking the aged glass with each hit.

Zaine: "Don't make any sudden movements or the glass will break!"

As all hope seems to be lost, in the distance just a few feet away from the chaos, a machine overlooks the conflict standing next to a heavily modified vehicle hovering from the ground, compiled of scraps and different parts.

Meanwhile, Back in the City where Fe and Cu escaped from, The Primordial receives word from his search team.

Elite Squadron Leader: "We have located the human child Prime Sir, but there is also a second human with them, an adult one..."

The Primordial: "Another one?! Eliminate them now, Leave no chance of escape!"

Elite Squadron Leader: "Understood"

The Primordial: "An Adult this time... These humans, must be hiding in holes, like rats I suppose I'll have to chase them out into the open and exterminate them"

The Primordial then turns around to witness his new and improved Ti9000s be constructed before him, as they enter a conveyor belt leading to automated machines ripping them limb from limb and reassembling them from scratch, down to the very tiny wires and bolts. The long line of Ti9000s then reveals thousands of Ti9000s entering the conveyor belt.

The Primordial: "After the completion of the Ti9000s' upgrades. I'll send my armies to every City, every crevasse, every inch of land they could possibly hide in and have patrols covering the entire planet... Land and sea. I've sat Idle long enough, the return of these humans proves it"

Back to the chaos where Fe and others are under attack by an onslaught from the machines surrounding them.

Cu: "How do we get out of this situation!?"

Then suddenly, "SMASH!" A grappling hook breaks through the glass they're laid out on and attaches itself to the wall above them.

Zaine: "What is that..."

"CRACK...CRACK...CRACK", the glass then begins to break rapidly.

Zaine: "Hold onto this rope! The glass is breaking!"

Zaine grabs hold of R3D with his injured arm and jumps to grab the rope of the grappling hook with his other hand, Cu then follows and extends his arm to Fe who is currently holding Axel amidst this chaos, "CRACK! CRACK!"

Cu and Zaine: "Jump!"

Fe then jumps as the entire glass below her shatters, just barely managing to grab hold of Cu's hand with one arm while she holds Axel in the other. As they all hang from the rope, the sound of an engine can be heard nearby. Zaine looks around to see where the rope for the grappling hook leads to, discovering the rope leads to a flying vehicle just below them. The door to the vehicle opens as a machine on the inside shouts out to them.

Unknown Machine: "Slide down the rope and get in! We don't have any time to waste!"

Cu then proceeds to slide down the rope with Fe in his hand and into the doors of the vehicle, "THUD!" as they crash into the vehicle, Fe looks over to see Zaine still hanging from the rope as he hasn't slid down yet.

Fe: "Zaine! Come down the rope!"

Zaine hesitates, as he doesn't trust the strange machine in the vehicle that appeared suddenly out of nowhere.

R3D: "BRRREEEEEEE OOOOOOOP!"

Zaine: "AHHH! Stop squirming around R3D, you're slipping from my arm!"

R3D: "BRREEEEEEE OOOOOOOOOP!"

Zaine: "Fine, I know I have no other choice right now! I just don't trust that bot."

Zaine then slides down the rope and enters the vehicle and the door shuts behind him.

Unknown Machine: "Hold on to something, It's about to be a bumpy ride"

The flying vehicle then dives down immediately as it detaches its rope, spiralling down between the two buildings straight to the ground.

Zaine, Fe and Cu: "WHOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA!"

R3D: "BRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Just before they hit the ground, the vehicle pulls up instantly just avoiding impact with the ground and rockets across the floor hiding amongst the rubble and the explosions.

Zaine: "Who are you?! And where did you come from?!"

R3D: "Breeeeee Ooop"

Zaine: "I don't care if it just saved us, Hey you! Where are you taking us?!"

Unknown Machine: "To safety, isn't that what you want right now?"

The mysterious machine continues to drive away from the scene of destruction at high speed, avoiding detection from the elite squadron who were still unloading fire onto the building, levelling it to the ground.

Unknown Machine: "Here, cover yourself and the human child with this cloak. It will prevent them from seeing your heat signatures."

The mysterious machine reaches back, handing Zaine the cloaks to cover Axel and himself. Zaine then dawns the cloak and wraps Axel up in the other, like a blanket.

Sometime later...

Leader of Elite Squadron: "We have decimated the building the humans and rogue machines were hiding in, made 5 perimeter checks and searched the debris, but negative bodies to confirm the kills Prime Sir."

The Primordial: "And You are certain that there was no possible means of escape from that building?!"

Leader of Elite Squadron: "Affirmative, We had them pinned down in the building with constant fire until we flattened the entire area to the ground"

The Primordial: "Well don't stop there, have the ground team evacuate the area and join the other teams searching for those old droids while the air team continues perimeter checks. I'll send a bomb strike to nuke all the surrounding landscape within a 10-mile radius. That will ensure their annihilation if they managed to escaped underground somehow under all that debris"

Leader of Elite Squadron: "Understood"

The ground team then left the area, and shortly after a guided missile came cruising through the clouds like a yacht sailing through calm waters gracefully. As it emerged from the clouds, piercing the force of the wind diving down directly onto the flattened building, and as it collides with the ground beneath it. "BOOOOOOOOOOOM!" A huge explosion, enveloped the entire area, sending an incredible shockwave, miles off from the explosion.

Fe and others still within the mysterious machine's vehicle flying down low to the ground.

Fe: "What was that!"

Cu: "Look behind us... In the sky"

Fe: "An explosion?"

Zaine: "They just bombed the place..."

Cu: "It's a good thing we got out of there, and fast... Thank you, machine Sir"

Unknown machine: "Don't mention it, I was just passing by"

The unknown machine without taking his eyes off the road ahead avoids suspicion as it types on a strange device "I have them, on my way to you now.", and looks back at Axel asleep in the rearview mirror.

And the flying car drives off into the distance through the dark and cold night.
