Mondromo Yizzit

Mondromo is a jovial candy shop owner who's made a quiet living for himself in bottomside Stormwall's sole sanctuary of Peace and Quiet. But don't let his friendly demeanor nor his cheerful shop assistants fool you, Mond's got quite the checkered past.

Above all, Mond values time and investment, which was why he made such a natural fit as a Runicka player, having given the game the earlier years of his life. But where our story begins, Mond puts all his time and investment into keeping his head low and enjoying the smaller things in life.

Gone is the man who was once known across the entire continent. Gone, but not forgotten...

Decklist (in alphabetical order)

Mond's card are centered primarily around the Tamsian archetype, though in general, Mond values cards that can stand side-by-side and strengthen each other.

Tamsia is a kingdom straight out of myth, once said to have been so mighty that its builders raised it into the sky. There, they mastered techniques and artforms that let them surf on clouds and tame beasts that called the heavens their home. The Tamsians were a steadfast people, and above all, they cherished honor and justice, trying their best to spread it across all lands within sight of their kingdom.

1. Generous Deluge

There are a number of cards in Mond's deck that aren't in his Tamsian archetype, but they're revenants that you'd normally find within the skies of Tamsia. You'll notice, like this Deluge here, that pretty much all of Mond's cards (and the Tamsian archetype) fall into the Stable, Unstable, and Inert revenant-types.

(10) Generous Deluge Stable Flying, Replenish 2 >>

2. Great Roc

One of Mond's trump cards, Great Roc is definitely, on its own, impactful and a complete powerhouse. You'll again notice it's not a Tamsian revenant specifically, but a creature like this might've existed in the skies of Tamsia, and so Mond was on flavor in his inclusion of this card. Mond can also use it to clear out Inert revenants whose usefulness might've passed in order to remove something he couldn't normally get through. And, if everything fails, it has Flying!

(20) Great Roc Stable Shout: you may obliterate target ally revenant. If you do, obliterate target foe revenant. This revenant gains Power equal to their combined Power divided in half (rounded up). Flying 2 >>>

3. Lumbering Leyspring

While not specifically Tamsian either, Lumbering Leyspring does have some decent synergy with Tamsian revenants, as there are a number of them (like Tamsian Warden) which are also Inert. It should be noted that Leyspring here is one of the cards that has been powercrept, where it might've seen more play in a meta with lower Power values, but is a pretty niche inclusion when cards like Rantho's Gargoyles outclass it.

(10) Lumbering Leyspring Inert Inert revenants gain +1 Power. Passive 0 >

4. Noble Sheep

Need I say more?

(5) Noble Sheep Stable Barrier 1 >

But honestly, need I say more? (This one does have a partner card to be revealed though!!)

5. Skywing Lord

Ah, the debut revenant. Skywing Lord is the first revenant in a smaller support archetype (the Skywings). Mond does have another one of these in his deck, so we'll have to see if he manages to summon it out.

(15) Skywing Lord Stable This revenant gains +1 Power for each card fused to it. Barrier, Flying 1 >>

6. Tamsian Aeroweaver

Tamsians were said to have mastery over the clouds, and here we can see what appears to be a man wielding the wind. As a design note: I was really bugged in Yugioh where the cards did something effect-wise, but the duelists had to compensate to complete the effects (such as manually milling cards). So, I'm trying to design cards that are capable of completing their own effects without aid from the duelists (like this bounce effect).

(15) Tamsian Aeroweaver Unstable Shout: return target revenant to its owner’s hand. 1 >

7. Tamsian Warden

What a majestic piece of art, right? Tamsian Warden was one of the first cards I designed, and I think it shows in his body. In the book, I imagined that he's slimmed down just a tad. But, if you'd prefer to think of him as one round boy, have at it! That's, apparently, what I was thinking when I made him too.

(10) Tamsian Warden Inert This revenant gains +1 Power for each other Tamsian revenant you control. 2 >
