《I Am The GUIDE》[Vol.1] 0012: A Pink Fairy (6)

Reece was feeling cold for some reason as he stops peeking and quietly sat down.
He knew if his presence were to find out, he will be devoured.
Of course, that won't happen. Reece was simply frightened that he biasedly decided his own fate.
Azure, who was dragging the bear, was pushed by an unknown bird with red feathers and a huge body. Because it has a huge body, Azure pretended to fall very hard to the ground.
Well, Azure happens to be a very good actor so the fall appears realistic and everyone plainly cracks up.
And although he was holding the tiny bag to not violently shake and harm the tiny and fragile existence inside, it still shook enough to make Reece dizzy once again.
'Fuck. I will not go near Azure again.'
Reece promised himself.
It is not really good to stick with people who are getting bullied or Reece will be threatened too.
Getting dominated while being one of the strongest is no fun for a coward like Reece.
A few hours later.
Azure has finally able to free himself from the birds who have nothing to do but make fun of him and hid somewhere quite far. Looking around to confirm that nobody was watching, Azure opened the bag and Reece quickly came out but is flying unsteadily.
Azure suspects Reece will fall so he settled him in his palm.
"Are you okay?"
Reece, in particular, was extremely dizzy.
He has already ask Daniel to remove his dizziness but Daniel did not cooperate with him this time, making him still unsteady from the bag shaking too much.
"I am fine."
Reece replied a few minutes later.
Though he was irritated, he manages to calm his voice from shaking.
"Shall I go now?"
Azure looks back to the tribe where everyone was having a feast before nodding.
"Most of them are beginning to get drunk and the children must be feeling sleepy too as the night is deeper now."
'The children feel sleepy even though their time is unstable?'
Reece assumes it must be hard to sleep when there are times that the night is short and the morning is long.
[Yes. As long as night came, these birds feel the need to sleep.]
Acknowledging, Reece nodded.
"Great."
Removing the glowing light in his body, Reece began to fly around searching for Hugh Ibrahim's house. He knew it was one of the biggest and is around the center where the most influential family is staying.
As he flies around, Reece was able to take a look around the tribe. Most of the houses are made of pure woods and are very identical if we ignore the size of each house. It looks sturdy enough and is decently made considering they do not have any creative humans to architect and engineer a house.

Additionally, each of the houses does not have anything that blocks the window and door hollows but there are quite a few with curtains made of the fur of different types of animals. Furthermore, they are all hanging on the trees as the birds were said to not feel comfortable when sleeping on the ground.
Though it is still very shabby that the tribe could be mistaken as slums if this were on Earth, still they are animals. And these animals, particularly the birds and not in general, do not care for the appearance of the house as long as the environment is comfortable enough for them to live and survive.
At least that is what Daniel has reported to him.
Reece, who was still having a difficult time locating Hugh's grandparent's house, flies higher as he looks around.
'Punk. Tell me now.'
Reece hissed.
[Report. Individual Hugh Ibrahim's house was two houses away from the red one with markings on the south.]
With that, Reece immediately found the house.
As there were no doors, Reece was able to make it close to Hugh Ibrahim's prison room. There are two guards, deep green and orange birds. However, they are drinking and are flushed.
'There are beers here as well?'
Reece was puzzled. Animals could manage to create beers without human knowledge? Although he did hear Azure mention the birds must be drunk already, he did not expect they are drinking beers.
[Yes. Though the birds are not the ones who created them as they do not have the knowledge to simulate one. It is someone from another species who live just beside the forest. Their village, in particular, focuses on food development.]
In other words, their tribe is the only one who could really cook and bring out other flavors of meat and all and not only knows how to toast.
'So these beers are only traded from another tribe. But however I look at it, this beer is similar to the Earths?'
Even if Reece can't smell anything, the appearance and color of the beer are just so similar to the ones on Earth.
[It is.]
'I was right? Really?'
[Why are you so surprised? Even if they are animals, they are intelligent creatures. Not to mention, humans are animals to boot.]
'... You do have a point.'
It is not only humans who could create things such as beers and weapons. It just so happen that Reece used to live on Earth that he became too ignorant of the other dimension.
[Please concentrate for now.]
Having no choice, Reece decided to let go of this matter for now as he stares at the drunken birds.
These two birds must have been drinking for more than 9 hours now since the feast started considering how they laugh with their every word. Their conversation does not make sense to boot. The birds will surely fall asleep any moment from now.

'What useless guards.'
Without any problem, Reece manages to slip through in.
The prison room was enormous and it was dark and smelly. As the bright light outside lightens the room somehow, Reece could see the figure of a huge animal sleeping on the ground without anything to warm him.
'This... is not what I was expecting.'
Hugh Ibrahim was there in his animal form. However, something is strange.
The Lion Mutant looks like a normal lion. Hugh does not possess any bird wings, hands, tail, or something. He was just normal if we exclude his elephant size body.
[Notice. Although the bird and lion's blood is already mixed, mutants always take after the animal with the most dominant blood. Their animal form does not reconstruct. And, they are mutants, not chimeras.]
'Ah.'
Now that he saw Hugh, Reece was hesitating. The lion looks very scary in the dark.
'Is he really just a 12-year-old?'
However, without Reece noticing, the lion unfolds its fierce eyes and directed it in Reece's direction. The lion did not move as it observes the tiny being, who seems to be lost in deep thoughts.
'That is... a pink fairy?'
Even though it was a bit dark and the tiny existence as well does not have any glow that they should naturally have, Hugh was able to tell it was a pink fairy with his naturally enhanced eyes.
The lion's body began to shrunk and eventually takes the form of a humanoid child.
Flinch.
Reece flinch when the huge lion was nowhere to be found the moment he regained his focus. Instead, a tiny child with brown hair and lion eyes was in front of him and snatch him in the air.
"Eek!"
Reece shriek as he hugs his body tightly.
Although Hugh's grip on him was very light and not suffocating at all, Reece was still very frightened. Because Hugh Ibrahim's sharp pupils were terrifying.
Hugh, on the other hand, stares blankly at Reece that terrified the latter even more. However, before Reece could say a word, Hugh suddenly beamed and smiled at Reece.
"Aah, it is truly a fairy!"
'Hmm? This is weird.'
"Ah! You are very adorable! Your name, what is your name?"
'Uh... Isn't he supposed to have unstable emotion?'
The lion mutant child in front of him was pretty excited. Although Reece was aware that Hugh likes cute things like himself, it is still weird that he looks and acts completely like a typical child.
"You have no name?"
Still dumbfounded, Reece was not able to voice out his response, which is why Hugh stop talking as he stares at Reece.
"Hmm... are you not well?"
Hugh tilted his head in question.
"My name... My name is Reece."
Even if he was very scared and even without that damn bastard voice in his head who did not bother to remove his fear towards Hugh, Reece was able to calmly handle his trembling voice and body.
"A... pleasure to meet you."
Still, Reece was sure of one thing.
'That punk must be enjoying this.'
After all, Daniel likes to make fun of him. That's why it is not helping him in the first place.
"Oh my! Your voice is cute as well!"
Hugh's smiling face now getting closer to Reece as Reece slowly backs out but since he was still captured by Hugh, it did not do that much of a difference.
"Ahem. Could you let me go now?"
"Oh! My name is Hugh Ibrahim! I am a lion mutant, you see."
Even though it still responded, Hugh was making it obvious he does not want to let Reece go that easily.
"But do not be afraid as I have no means of harming you."
"I, is that so?"
Like hell, he will believe that. Reece tried to escape Hugh's grip but his struggles are ineffective against a lion.
"How about letting me go now?"
However, Hugh did not listen at it continues to speak with a beaming expression.
"Look at you! You are so tiny. I could break you if I hold you any tighter than this."
'Eek! So vicious words!'
Reece now strongly believes this boy, Hugh, has unstable emotions.
'He needs immediate treatment!'
"Ha... hahaha."
Reece wanted to cry.
'This is crazy. Seriously, this drives me nuts. I want to go home!'
[You are doing a great job.]
Reece just snorted at Daniel's comment.
"Why... why don't we talk about this calmly and far, very far away from each other, hm?"
Hugh tilted his head and blink several times in confusion as he asks.
"Hmm, why? I like holding you like this."
He does, Hugh does like it. Seeing the fairy he was clutching with his huge hands look extremely adorable that he could not take away his gaze off of him.
"It is suffocating and... I am weak."
Reece was planning to run away as soon as Hugh let him go. However, the boy was having his doubts as he smiled at Reece.
"You will be fine. Trust me, I will never hurt you."
Hugh smiled even more.
"If you don't try something funny like running away, that is."
Definitely. Reece definitely felt the chills all over his body.
'... Should I run away now?'

Forgive me, I didn't mean to take that!
Murong Yingyue is the heiress to a famous cultivator clan. Except that’s she’s really not, and just a stand-in for the real heiress, who had been sickly since she was born. And she’s not really even herself. A transmigrator from Earth had transmigrated into the body of a female demoness, inheriting her memories. The transmigrator had then later died, transmigrating into her infant body! Ah, Why is it so convoluted? She grew up with those memories, and when she was finally sufficiently strong enough to travel the world safely, she eagerly embraced a leisurely life. When I was a demoness, I didn't know how to live without constantly being on guard and having to calculate every move I make. When I was on Earth, I didn't know a life without romantic drama and jealous women! I'll enjoy these two things you have missed, then! I'll do whatever I want and avoid troublesome people. So... How the f*ck did I get into this stupid cliche storyline? And as the main character, too? I don't want to be the main character! They attract so many senseless cannon fodders and powerful enemies, and furthermore, don't they attract romantic interests like it's no one's business? Someone help me! This will read better if you are familiar with wuxia novels. Discontinued. Apologies to all who liked the story. I feel that my writing style has changed since I last wrote for this story, so I tried to get myself to rewrite the story but I couldn't find any motivation to do so. I also lost the outline I had for this story and don't really remember what direction it was going in, so I want to leave the story as is. Thank you to the people who read and favorited this.

Revenants have a unique connection to essential magics that allows them to develop their powers in extremely diverse ways.
