After that he looked through the whole book and spent a while to get all the forms down in his head. Then he walked out of the cave to practice it when he saw Shen Yu.
She was currently practicing her skills to try and use everything Yun Tian taught her. She was trying to get her own insights using his experiences as a guide. He wanted to encourage her, but he also didn’t want to disturb her so went further away to practice his own skill.
Shen Yu was so buried within her practice that she didn’t notice him coming out of the cave.
There was a large wide open space in front of the cave. It was large enough for them to each have enough space to practice their own skills.
When Yun Tian was far enough away he started to recall the skill he just looked through. Before anything else he had to get down the forms and reach grasping form.
He thought about this skill compared to fleeting steps. ‘Fleeting steps is more focused on stealth and short bursts of speed. This skill will let me travel faster over large distances. The skill even describes being able to fly short distances if your mastery is high enough.’
‘The skills aren’t exactly the same, but the insights I gained from cloud palm and fleeting steps will definitely help.’
He thought about the forms shown in the skill and tried to perform them himself. He very quickly comprehended the basics of the forms and reached grasping form. It only took him about twenty minutes
He needed to grasp the very essence of each form in order to reach mastering form and that would take some more effort. He had previously decided to reach grasping form with each so that he no longer needed the skill manuals and then sell the manuals later.

By doing this he had some more skills in his mind to comprehend later while also earning some money. He figured it was better to learn them while he could.
When using the fleeting steps skill it made him look like a ghost flowing in the wind, almost unseen. However, after reaching grasping form with crane flight his movement didn’t have the same extreme bursts of speed or the same stealthy nature, but he noticed that skill allowed him to be almost weightless and would most definitely be great for travelling.
Others would be aghast at his speed of learning the skill. He also could display greater results with the skill thanks to the insights he had from his other skills. It didn’t look like he had merely reached grasping form.
Yun Tian thought inwardly ‘I can’t wait to see if I will really be able to fly before reaching the next realm.’
Yun Tian knew many cultivation novels from earth and in them cultivators could fly so he wasn’t surprised about being able to fly. Even the Yun Tian born in this world had read and been told stories of great cultivators who could fly. He had asked his parents about flight and they told him he needed to reach the realm above dantain building to fly.
‘I can only try to increase my mastery of this skill quickly.’
Now that he was done with this skill for now he took out the second skill he had decided to practice.
It was the only sword skill. It was called flowing stream sword style. Yun Tian was actually looking forward to this skill. It’s grade wasn’t higher than the word skill he already knew, but it did teach different things than what he knew right now.
The deadly flash sword skill was only about using pure speed and killing intent to overcome all. If he wasn’t faster than his opponent and couldn’t kill them with one attack he would be put at a disadvantage. This skill could help with that. It would also help with his very fundamentals of swordsmanship.

He quickly read through it and memorized all of the forms in it. Yun Tian had great talent and it was almost effortless for him to memorize something. He was also great at training skills, however it still took time no matter how talented he was.
This skill covered the very fundamentals of swordsmanship and was drastically different from anything else he had practiced before. While he had practiced deadly flash and was decent with the sword, this sword skill still took him a long time to understand.
Yun Tian didn’t bother with the intent or spirit of the skill for now. Judging by the name of the skill and what he had read he knew the skill was about using the sword like a flowing stream. He didn’t quite understand what that meant right away and had no experience with any skills based around water.
This made him put all his focus into the forms described in the skill.
He practiced nonstop to get the forms right. It took him hours even with his talent, but he reached grasping form and was starting to comprehend the essence of the forms.
Yun Tian would need to spend more time on this skill, but for now he went on to the next one.
The next one he chose was one of the fist arts. It was called earth shattering strike. He read through the manual and found that the skill seemed simple. It was about punching with enough force to shatter earth.
It only described a few different punches. He tried out the moves. After a while he thought ‘My body has a great strength and that is good with the skill. This skill will in fact be great for me. It seems to mainly focus on brute strength.’
This skill was simple, but was still completely new to him so it took him around an hour to reach grasping form.
Just when he stopped he noticed that Shen Yu was waiting for him off to the side.
She stared at him and seemed to be pouting. She also had some meat that had been cooked. It looked like she had made lunch for Yun Tian.
As cultivators, they did not need to eat like normal people as their strength grew, but they still could. It was a source of entertainment and habit.

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
