《Slothful Reincarnation》Chapter 4: Innocence

[Day 6]

Today, I hunted my first prey in this world. Marking the beginning of my path to laziness.

You might be asking, “How the fuck did you do that?” Humu Humu! ~ I’m a (self-proclaimed) genius! What else?! Lemme run you down on how I did it.

A few hours ago…

Nice! I can run around now! That herb worked wonders! I wonder if I can meet my goddess someday.

I still don’t know who helped me but, regardless of who they are, I owe them my life. I will not spare any effort to help them. They have showed me kindness, I have to return it 10 times.

I gathered the materials I have infront of me. Sticks from my leg, a basket, a dull knife, some herbs.

And a berry… there’s only one so I didn’t eat it. After experiencing excruciating pain and other horrible effects from the stuff I got from that forest, I became reluctant to consume the berry… it’s red… tomatoes are red… strawberries are red… potatoes are re— wait no. But still… there’s hardly any red fruit that is harmful… plus I’m craving sugar right now…

I decided to leave it for now… but mark my word red berry-kun! I’ll devour you as soon as I know that you’re safe to eat! Don’t go bad until then!

Weapons Created:

Spear (Stick + Cloth + Knife) Paralyzing medicine (crushed yellow herb; can be rubbed on the blade of the spear for additional paralysis effect upon contact) Makeshift backpack (basket + cloth) Tactical Projectile Weapon x6 (Definitely just rocks)

This is the best I can do for now. After making the weapons, I tried moving the bodies of the creatures like me. I stuffed some of them with the yellow herb and one by one, dragged them outside of the cave. I almost puked because of how bad it smelled.

The ones I ate, have lost most of their flesh already so it didn’t bother my nose that much. But the ones I didn’t and smelled so bad. I could see worms starting to crawl outside of their body.

Using my totally not an accident and a genuine experiment of eating random shit, I can confirm that the paralysis herbs last quite long. I gotta use what I can use, sorry guys.

I placed the bodies near the exit of the forests. I became bored real quick so I spent my time reminiscing the embarrassing things I did when I was younger.

“Ummm… will you please go out with me!?” I said to a girl in my class.

This was the first confession I ever did in my entire life, albeit young at only 11. I’ve fallen in love with this girl for the longest time. She was nice and cares about others. I thought even if people stay away from me, she can accept me for who I really am.

Her name was Rebecca Dewford, she was the prettiest person in our class so it was natural for me to fall for her. Maybe it was just me trying to fill the gaps that my mother left, but I knew I wanted to be with her.

With a bated breath, I waited for her reply…

“A rapist’s child like you shouldn’t hangout with me! My mom told me you’re a bad person!” (Rebecca)

She ran after throwing those words at me. I just stood there… Embarrassed and disgusted of myself…

“She’s right… I’m a bad person…” (Eliot)

Thus, my first love ended abruptly. I wonder where she is right now… I hope she’s living well– Squeeek! Squeeek! Scree!

I was woken up from my day dreaming by some loud noises. Akin to scratching a black board with finger nails. It was so bad that my body even shook. I wanted it to stop!

I ran to where the noise was, when I started to realize where I was heading… near one of the bodies I laid… As I reached the place, I saw 3 horned rabbits twitching on the ground. They were SOOOOO CUTEEEEE!!! If I had a camera, I’m sure they’d be viral right now!

The rabbits were big! About half a meter in length! I want one as a pet! I can’t kill these! Wait no… last time I almost got killed. I will not make the same mistake this time. With great resolve, I pointed my spear onto the rabbit.

Snap. Click. Swish.

SQUEEEK! SQUEEEK! SCREE!!!! SCRE–

I heard its bone crack and flesh part as I stabbed it with my spear. It made noises out of agony, which made my heart break. Eating another creature was so much different from killing them yourself.

My body shook as I felt its screams of agony… its cries…

I stole its innocence… its life… its freedom… for me to live…

I did not look away. I looked into its eyes to remember the first thing I killed in all my life times.

By the time I returned to my home, the sun was already setting. As I got near it. I saw something enter it.
