Chapter 7 - Reward

When Metehan woke up it was 09:00 AM. He had slept for about 3 hours. He immediately woke up and have some quick breakfast. His parents were already left for their jobs. So he was alone at home. He immediately got into the game unit and connected the Royal Blood Online after breakfast.

+MP was fully recovered..

His cold was recovered so his stat penalty had ended as well. It was dawn at Royal Blood Online when he connected. He got up from his bed and left the inn. He already paid for it in advance.

‘Now I should buy some equipments for myself. I am level 5 now and I have money as well. I need to upgrade my swords and buy some armours for me. Also I should buy some food as well. I only got 2 wheat breads.’

However shops was closed. He had to wait for a few hours before they were open. So Metehan decided to do some grindings until they were open. He left the City via south gate and went the woods to hunt Wild Rabbits. He didn’t want to go further and find other monsters to hunt before he bought new equipments. He hunted for about two hours. He could hunt them his eyes closed without losing any HP. However he was getting almost no experience from hunting them. He hunted for two hours and his experience bar rose only by 1%.

‘I guess it is a waste of time to hunt here now. The shops should be open by now. I better return the City.’ Metehan returned the City and went to the market district. His first stop was bakery. He had eaten his last two wheat breads during the hunt. Wheat breads were cheap. They were sold for 1 Copper Coin. He bought 100 of them. His next stop was Merchant Sithred. Since his intimacy with him was high, he could find good equipments for cheap. Even though he was rich right now, he had to manage his money well. Metehan was good at managing money in the real life as well. So he was using the same principles. “Save as much as money you can and spend your money wisely.You don’t know when you really need it.” That was his principles. Anyway, Sithred was very happy to see Metehan. He welcomed him with a warm smile.

“Welcome, Metehan. How can I help you?”

“Hi, Sithred. I want to buy some equipments for myself. Such as swords, armours etc.” Metehan said with a smile on his face.

“I see. Let me check what I have. “

Sithred went back to the stand and came back with some items. “I guess these should be good for you right now. “

There were 2 identical swords, a body armour, a couple of gloves, a pants and an helmet. Metehan checked all the items one by one.

“These items are nice. I will buy 2 swords. How much is it all?” Metehan asked with a delighted expression.

“Hmm, 5 Silver Coins for body armour, 3 Silver Coins for gloves, 3 Silver Coins for helmet, 4 Silver Coins for pants and 6 Silver Coins for each swords. Totally it is 27 Silver Coins. However that is the normal price. I owe you a favour so I will give you a 30% discount. It is 18 Silver Coins for you. “

“Woah. Equipments are really expensive here.”

“Well, materials necessary to make them are limited. That’s why prices are high. Anyway, will you buy them?”

“Of course I will. It wouldn’t be a problem if I pay it as 900 Copper Coins and 9 Silver Coins, would it?”

“Not at all. Actually we need Copper Coins more than Silver Coins so I would be happy if you paid it that way.”

“Thank you. Here it is.”

“Thanks for the patronage. When you don’t need them anymore, I can buy them back for the half price.”

“Okay. I will keep that in my mind. By the way, how much would you pay for these there swords?”

Metehan took out his old swords and showed them to Sithred. Sithred examined them for a while.

“These are useless items. However I can pay you 1 Copper Coin for them.”

“Deal. “

Metehan sold his old swords for 1 Copper and equipped his new equipments.

“Is there anything I can help you with?” Metehan asked Sithred hoping he might give him a quest.

“No, not particularly. I will let you know if I need anything.”

“Thank you. See you later.”

Metehan left the shop and started to walk on the main street. Then three guards started to approach him. When they came close, the man in the front smiled and started to talk.

“Hello, Great Benefactor. We’ve been looking for you. My name is Richard. I am the Captain of the City Guards. Firstly I want to thank you for your contributions to our city. Our Lord is also very pleased with that so he wanted to meet you. Could you follow us to the Castle?”

Metehan was a little surprised. The Lord himself wanted to meet him. In these kind of games, you can’t meet nobles unless you are extremely famous. His fame isn’t low however he didn’t think it was high enough to meet a noble. Moreover it was not any noble. It was the Lord of the City. He was a high noble. You could even say he was royalty since there was no Kingdoms in Royal Blood Online. He was basically the king of this city. Other players also noticed that and started to stare at them. City Guards wouldn’t even talk to players unless it is absolutely necessary. And even if they did, they would be cold and arrogant. And they were talking to a player extremely politely. Metehan also realized the attention of the other players and started to get nervous.

“Ah, of course. If the Lord of this City calls me, of course I would go. Please lead me the way.” He answered with a low and polite voice.

The Castle of the Lord was in the center of the Semerkant City. It had a square shape with a two majestic towers in the east and west sides. The heights of the walls were about 10 meters and the heights of the towers were equally about 20 meters. The thickness of the walls were more than 5 meters. The lengths of the each surrounding walls were about 200 meters. It was like a mediaval castle. There was a luxurious looking majestic mansion between the towers. That was where Lord and his family resided. There were also many garrisons buildings around the mansion.

Richard and Metehan passed through the castle gate and head towards the mansion. Beauty of the mansion had increased every step they took. It was so dazzling that Metehan thought he was about to faint for a moment. Metehan had never seen such a structure before.

They get into the mansion through the door. There was a spacious hall in the entrance. It was so spacious that you could play a soccer match easily. There were two stairways in the right left sides of the hall. They went to the upstairs via the right stairways and got into a spacious room. There was a young man sitting on a throne in the center of the room. Richard started to walk towards the young man and kneeled before him.

“My Lord, I brought the Great Benefactor.” Richard said with a polite voice. Metehan was still standing at the entrance of the door in a bewildered state. He would watch medieval movies when he was child. Medieval movies were his favorite movies. He always dreamt about living in a medieval castle. And now he was in one of them. That’s why he was so bewildered right now. However he snapped out of it by the question of the Lord.

“What is wrong, Benefactor? Why are you standing there? Come in.”

Metehan hastily went in and kneeled down in front of him just like Richard.

“Please forgive my rudeness, My Lord. I was dazzled by your majestic castle and your presence.” Metehan said with a very polite voice.

“It is okay. Please raise your head. You are the Great Benefactor of this City. You don’t have to kneel before me.” Lord said with a soft voice.

Metehan rose his head and stood up. He was quie nervous. This was his first time seeing a Lord. He was feeling like he was in a dream.

“I wanted to meet you and give you a suitable reward. The City and I are in your debt. You saved us from a very troublesome man and on the top of that you added that troublesome man to our power. Ever since he joined the City Guards 3 days ago, the crime rate in the city dropped by 90% and in this respect the security level also risen by %90. This city was suffering from that for the last ten years. However now it all ended. I couldn’t believe it when I first heard that he repented his sins and wanted to join the City Guards to make amends for them. And the one who convinced him was an adventurer, you. My pride wouldn’t allow me not to pay this debt.” Lord stopped for a while to see his reaction.

“My Lord, I only did what I thought was right. I don’t deserve your kind words.” Metehan answered with humble words.

“I see you are a humble man as well. However you deserve more than my kind words. I want to give you a reward however I can’t decide what to give. I have many good items in my treasury however you are not strong enough to use them yet.” Lord paused for a while and thought. Then his eyes flashed.

“How about training you in our City Training Camp? Normally we don’t allow adventurers to train there. However as the Great Benefactor, I can make an exception for you. Your can polish your skill there and also you may learn new skills as well. How about it?” When the Lord finished his sentence, a window popped up in front of Metehan.

The Lord of Semerkant wants to reward you with City Training Camp usage permission. The adventurers normally isn’t allowed to use it however as the Great Benefactor of the Semerkant City, you will be allowed to use it and train there. You will have %300 skill experience rate while training there. The usage fee is 100 CPs per day. You currently have 2800 CPs. You can use it for up to 28 days with your current CPs. This is an one-time offer. Once you decided the number of days you wanted to use it, you can’t increase or decrease it anymore even if you have enough CPs. That’s why please make your decision wisely. You can also refuse this offer. However if you refuse this offer, your intimacy with the Lord will drop drastically. You might even get punished.

‘Woah! This is a great offer. I would never refuse it. I was already looking for a way to increase my skill levels faster. This is what I was looking for. You will have to change your items in one point. However skills are permanent! You can use them as long as you play.’ Metehan was quite delighted. This was what he was looking for.

“I would be delighted if you had allowed me to use it, My Lord.” Metehan said with a respectful expression.

“Great. However I can’t allow you to use it unlimitedly. I can only allow you to use it for 28 days at most. How long would you like to use it?” Lord asked with a worried face.

“Then I’d like to use it for 28 days. I’d like to train my skills as much as possible, My Lord. I am very grateful for your offer.” Metehan answered with a delighted face.

“I am glad you liked. I was a little worried about that you might not like it and want something more. However I am glad you are a humble person. You can start to use it immediately. Is it okay with you?”

“Yes, My Lord. I’d like to start as soon as possible.”

Metehan left the Castle with Richard. He lead Metehan to the training camp. When he entered the camp, he saw Lorenzo and his men there. They were training there as well. Lorenzo and his men were really delighted to see him. Lorenzo approached to Metehan.

“How are you, Metehan? It has been a while.” Lorenzo said with a smiling face.

“I am fine. Thank you. I heard about your good deeds. I am glad for you.” Metehan answered with a smile on his face.

“It is all thanks to you. If it weren’t for you, I would never realize my sins. You opened my eyes. I am in your debt. When you need anything, you can always ask me. I will always come to your aid.”

“Thanks for your kind words. However if you haven’t any goodness in you, I wouldn’t be able to do anything. “

“You are humble as always. By the way, why are you here? The adventurers wasn’t even allowed to enter here.” Lorenzo asked with a puzzled expression.

“It seems I will be training here for a while.” Metehan told about how the Lord has rewarded him with allowing him to train here. Lorenzo was quite bewildered. However he was happy that he could somehow helped him and paid some of his debt.

“I see. I am glad I could somehow help you. Anyway, see you around then.”

“See you.” Lorenzo left for training after that.

Richard lead him to one of the rooms in the camp. This was gonna be his room during his training period. Metehan was quite delighted and excited about the training. He wanted to start the training as soon as possible.

“Richard, I want to start as soon as possible.” Metehan said with an excited voice.

“Okay, follow me.” Metehan and Richard left the room. Metehan’s long training had started.
