《Chocolate Obsessed Genius Mage》Chapter 18. Hopefully.

Quiliana's POV:
This guy... is he afraid of seeing tears? That's... certainly something I never heard of before. Is it a phobia?
...
A guy who is amazingly powerful is afraid of those who cry? This is simply ridiculous. What would he do if his enemy got tears in his eyes while they fight? Immediately run away?
-If you cry each time I let you eat my special recipe, I'll never give you more of it ever again!
The sudden words shocked me to my very core. After letting me try this, THIS delicacy, he would immediately deprive me of it?! This is no simple chocolate! I've eaten many products with this flavor but none could rival this one. It's not just some chocolate, it's CHOCOLATE!
I got dazed and stopped crying really fast after his warning. I can't risk angering him now!
-I have stopped crying, 'High Master'. I'll make sure to never do it again in your presence.
Did my voice tremble right now?! Did he believe me?! Please, please don't tell me that he won't let me experience this mysterious moment of clarity ever again!! I will even call you whatever you wish, just let me hope for more of this 'special recipe' of his in the future!
Sir Alexander Thorn'rose's POV:
-You sure, Q?
I didn't want to risk peeking through my fingers just to suffer more. I got nothing to crazy, red and glowing eyes of a Berserker but the teary red eyes are simply not something I like to look at! It's like seawater pouring out from inside your face and slowly flowing down! I... can't stand watching it!
-Yes, for sure!
Here we go. I have to be ready to close my eyes at any moment and all will be alright! This midget... She already made me see this terrible thing twice! If it happens again, I might just sever any connections I have with her, regardless of my interest in this particular toy! Well, she did manage to get me quite excited so... I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Should I just ditch her somewhere safe and stop caring? It's not worth the trouble if she keeps on making me feel this bad. But at the same time... So many surprises... Ugh! I'll think about this stuff later.

I slowly moved my hands aside... and blinked fast. I barely looked at her face for a short moment as a test to see if it was safe. It wasn't red anymore, so it might really be fine. Ok. Let's do it!
...
Yes! It's safe after all. I sign with relief, glad it wasn't just a joke or something like that. I would definitely leave this toy if she dared to lie to me in such a serious matter!
-Ummm. High Master, may I ask why this CHOCOLATE was so much better than the normal one? - the girl asked in a surprisingly timid tone of voice.
What happened? Did she get scared of something or what?
-Well, it's my special recipe after all, nothing I've ever eaten was better than this. It's made using normal Chocolate, natural mana, rare herbs and some high-ranked beasts body parts.
-E..eh? B-body parts?
-Well yeah, for example, a Beggar Bat's wings, a Frog Bug's diluted poison, a Funnesk's core or Black Tiger's fangs. There are many possibilities and each one makes the flavor a bit different.
-Y-you... add such things to a meal?! Are you crazy?!! There was even poison in there and some animals' teeth?! Seriously?!
-What is it? As long as it's good, there should be no problem, right? It's all edible and makes the taste so much better... You felt it yourself, wasn't it heaven-defying? This thrill is something I love and it makes you stronger as well.
-It feels great! But I didn't know it was made with such weird ingredients! Are you a witch or what?!
-I would rather say an alchemist. It takes real skill to cook this kind of Chocolate. And I'm never sharing the recipe! Besides, I doubt anyone else could find out how to make it since it requires high-class products that aren't easy to find or kill.

Ha! She'd love to know my secret recipe, huh? I'm not sharing though!
-Excuse me now, I need to concentrate and put down a formation to perform world shifting. You should just sit in a corner and make sure to not bother me no matter what happens. If you try anything, you might die, you know? This isn't a game after all, you might get seriously hurt if you disturb me while I'm casting magic.
-I... I understand.
-Don't talk and try not to move too much as well. What I'm going to do now is so dangerous that this whole world could explode if I make a mistake somewhere.
-Wait, what?! You can destroy this planet while trying to resurrect my aunt?!!
-No, you idiot! Only if you bother me! And I told you I'm not 'resurrecting' anyone, I'm bringing another person from a different time continuum and she will be the same Anaga you know! Hopefully.
-What do you mean 'hopefully'?!!!
-Well, the hardest thing is to find the right time and moment to grab your aunt from a different world. There are more 'moments in time' to choose from than you can ever count, it's not something you can imagine! And it's constantly growing, too! Since things constantly happen, there are more and more branches every second! So make sure you will never, under any circumstances, move close to me while I'm busy counting from this moment! Now go!
I sat in a lotus position and closed my eyes. A moment later, I no longer thought of anything other than the task at hand. I stood up as if in a trance and grabbed a piece of magically enhanced chalk out of a dimensional pocket and prepared to draw on the floor. Was this necessary? Not really but it gives me a peace of mind if something were to go wrong. As proud as I am in my skills, it's always better to be safe than sorry. I know exactly how dangerous what I'm attempting to do here is and the more security measures that are put here just in case, the better.
I'm not someone who just recklessly do some experiments with high risks involved. I'm not one to do stuff without first preparing anything in my power to make sure whatever I try will be successful.
...most often not.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Chains of Dominion
If Jake wins the local Fantasy Tactics Online tournament, he’ll have everything he’s ever dreamed of — a ticket out of town and the attention of a beautiful woman. However, this woman has more planned for him than a bus ride to the local metropolis. She teleports him back to her Realm and declares him her Master… and says it’s up to him to save the world. No pressure. Rival Dominions vie for power, and they are all far larger and more organized than Jake’s rag-tag group of women, but he has two advantages: the rules of this world are eerily similar to those of Fantasy Tactics Online, and his wildest dirtiest sexual fantasies act as a power multiplier for his all-female army. Warning: The heroes have intense tactical battles, wild kinky sex, and near-constant flirtation. The villains are disturbing and cruel. If the idea of villains doing bad things bothers you, please do not read books ever, but especially don’t read this one.

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.
