《One Eyed Wanderer》Chapter 13 - The Contractor

'The changes made to my body, when I first realized it took me a while to recover from the shock. Changes to my body within the game could end up affecting my body, in reality, luckily death doesn't have any effect on my physical body so even if I do die within the game I should be alright'
After leaving the game he decided to get his thoughts straight, although he did not pay much attention to his new body until now, he decided he would no longer ignore the events that have unfolded after the changes to his body.
'Firstly the voice which I heard inside the game, it may be connected to what happened to the kobold. If that happened to me outside of the game...'
beads of sweat slowly formed on his face as his heart began to race.
'I can't afford to hurt anyone outside of the game, now that I think about it during the incident with Kyoko I heard a similar voice tempting me to take her life. Could it be, the way he talked to me and the questions he asked them all resembled... If I connect the dots it actually makes a lot of sense...'
"Lucifer...."
As soon as the word left his lips the air around him began to feel heavy causing him to gasp for air, the pressure which had appeared dispersed a few seconds later.
"W-Who.."
Saito retreated back quickly getting away from the figure which had appeared a breath away from him. A lean figure with smooth almost greyish skin stood still without a hint of emotion, glowing gold eyes stared at him whilst his short lifeless black hair further emphasized his eyes.
"Refrain from calling me with that name"
The figure wore two earrings resembling the sigil of Lucifer, with a plain black suit which surprised him completely ruining his personal image of the devil.

'I don't remember him wearing a suit when I fought him, wait that doesn't matter right now. Isn't he meant to be dead'
"It seems you are not too surprised"
The figure raised his hand slowly forming what looked to be a chair, seating himself in front of Saito.
"Confused would be the perfect word to describe my current feelings, Although I did expect this to happen It was more of a theory. I Should have known If the inventory outside of the game is updated every time I pick up items inside the game it means changes to my body continue to happen as I play"
"Well do not be alarmed I am here to talk about the contract"
He suddenly remembered the contract which he had accepted within the game without giving it a second thought.
"Contract, do you mean the class contract?"
Lucifer continued to stare at him with a face void of any emotions, he placed his hands together before continuing to speak.
"It seems like you have not read the contract, this makes the situation slightly more complicated. However, I preferably want to talk about the first contract since it doesn't need to be held for any longer"
Saito began to ponder trying to figure out what Lucifer meant, however, no matter how much he tried he couldn't remember signing any other contract causing him to wear a confused expression with a slight hint of fear lingering within his heart.
"I see, so you have not yet awakened. Worry not the contract has been fulfilled so no harm will be caused to your body, although I was hoping to use your past to motivate you for the upcoming events"
'My past? and what sort of events. There's too much information which I seem to be missing, however, I can't show any sign of weakness if he truly is a character from the game there's no telling what type of influence he could have in this world

"You cannot hide your weakness from the devil, its part of my job to know your weakness. The job that I was forced upon..."
At the end of the sentence, lucifers voice seemed to carry an intense rage, although his facial expression remained emotionless. He began to clench his fist trying to fight off the bloodthirsty aura emitting from Lucifer.
'He can read my mind....'
"I do not wish to waste much time here so you will quietly listen as I explain your situation if you wish to disobey my command..."
Lucifer formed a dagger which had appeared in his hand, the chair as well as the dagger seemed to appear out of thin air.
"Then please pick up the dagger and take your life instead of wasting my time, however, if you wish to fight back I must warn you I have not been in a good mood lately so relieving some stress would be beneficial to me"
Saito swallowed his saliva instantly nodding towards Lucifer respecting his commands.
'He can create metal out of thin air...'
"Not only metal, I am able to anything I wish. But there is a cost to everything, means of equivalent exchange you cannot create something out of nothing. For example, when you tried using my flames to fight off that hideous monster you were willing to sacrifice your soul, I presume it was subconsciously"
Saito began to panic as he tried to take in Lucifers words, he hadn't expected such a strong backlash from the skill.
"What would happen to me if my soul is sacrificed in the game"
"You do not seem to understand, this is no game. I can understand your confusion, however, I do not have time to waste, I am not computerized character and neither is the other world which you refer to as a game. We made a deal and I personally promise to keep my end of the bargain, however, if you set your sight of the track the person you tried so hard to protect will die"
Suddenly a blurred image of a girl flashed through his thoughts causing his expression to change from confusion to an expression of great pain. his eyes began to water whilst his thoughts began to dry, slowly blurred images flooded his head causing him to remember bits of his past.
"It seems you are slowly beginning to remember your past, I could help you recover your memories, however, I believe it will leave you emotionally unstable which might compromise your task. It must be hard, but please refrain from crying I do not have much time to explain"
"Your first task is to increase your level in the 'game' in order to collect the materials I need from that world since I do not have much time that is all for now once you reach the required level you will be contacted, also please refrain from making a risky exchange when casting your abilities"
The voice began to dim before disappearing leaving nothing but silence within the room, Saito who had no idea why he felt such emotional pain sat there without any movements.
