Chapter 2 - Trapped

Saito opened his eyes to find himself in a room full of darkness, there was a beam of light hitting the corner of the room which revealed piles of bones and ash.

"i'm pretty sure this isn't Zeriria" (Saito)

He got up on his feet as he was intrigued by the source of the light. he stretched his arms and clicked his fingers getting himself ready for whatever is waiting out there.

"im guessing this is 'Layer of Lucifer' well atleast thats what vision mentioned" (Saito)

He looked around as he focused his eyes, there was piles and piles of bones laid on the floor there was no trace of flesh all that was left was ashes. Saito walked towards one of the skeleton which was lying opposite to the source of light, it was holding a sword on his right arm and a dagger on the left.

"They look pretty realistic, this is kinda creepy" (Saito)

Saito reached out towards the skeletal body and retrieved the dagger and sword, right now he needed equipment incase he faced any monsters.

"ill be borrowing these.." (Saito)

Saito slowly walked towards the source of light with the dagger on his left hand and the sword on his right, there was a hole large enough for him to fit through, on the distance laid an enormous castle worthy of a true king, it was far larger than the ones Saito had seen in real life. before the castle stood tall tree's covering the grassland it was quite strange the tree's looked as if they were dyed red with blood there was a scent of death in the air and no sound could be heard.

"i was expecting something more sinister" (Saito)

He climbed out of the hole to get a better view of the landscape.

"Looks like i was in a cave" (Saito)

Saito noticed something in the distance he concentrated his vision onto the target, there were small buildings scattered around a small portion of the land. -------- Time in the game flows 3 faster so it actually took him 20 min

"is that a village, i wonder if it has Npc's" (Saito)

Saito decided to head down from the mountain which he had spawned in. it took him quite a while but an hour later he managed to reach the bottom.

"Well that was time consuming" (Saito)

Saito turned his gaze towards the village which he had pinpointed from above.

"it was somewhere around there right?" (Saito)

He starting walking towards the village without a goal in mind,

as he arrived at the gates of the village he looked around, there was no sound being emitted from the buildings, the village was deserted it had become a ghost town.

"heh it seems i'm alone" (Saito)

He looked at the tattered buildings which surrounded him, there was no sign of life at all he could only hear his own breath.

*Creak*

Saito instantly turned his gaze towards the sound, it came from the building behind him.

"Hello?" (Saito)

He slowly walked towards the building while watching his steps.

"is anyone here?, i'm lost" (Saito)

He approached the building whilst keeping his guard up.

"Was it just my imagination.." (Saito)

He entered the building whilst slowly looking around for any sign of life, everything within the building was shattered and broken into pieces there was nothing left in tact.

*Bang*

"Oh Crap!" (Saito)

a demonic humanoid cladded in black with horns growing out of its forehead jumped towards Saito. Saito got blasted back as he hit the wall.

"ugh why do i feel pain?" (Saito)

Saito looked up as he tried to track the Demon, it was gone the demon had disappeared from his vision. Saito got on his feet as he regained his balance.

"Hehe, you scared me there"

He looked at the sword which he was holding, it had shattered into pieces as it was used to shield Saito's body.

"Tch, that would have killed me" (Saito)

Saito gazed around the room trying to track the demon.

*Creak*

Saito let out a smirk as he turned around and put all his power into the dagger which he was holding in his hand. the demon jumped back as it lost its balance.

"Im not letting you escape!" (Saito)

Saito jumped towards the demon who was now off the ground, he waved his left hand towards the demon trying to land a hit on it, however the demon used the wall behind him to jump out of the way.

"Try evading this!" (Saito)

Saito changed the direction he was looking at whilst keeping track of the demon, he placed all his strength onto his left hand and released the dagger as it shot out of his hand. The dagger managed to reach the demon and pierce into its chest.

"Got you!" (Saito)

The demon fell onto his knees as it slowly turned into Ash.

"Woah thats creepy!" (Saito)

The sound system of the game seemed to be glitched as it emitted sinister voice, it sent shivers down Saito's spine.

[w-w-w-would you lik-like to equip the title 'Demon Slayer'.]

"um yes please" (Saito)

"i wonder why the demon died with one hit, this game doesn't seem to have hp points so i'm not sure if it was damaged or just glitched" (Saito)

"Lets see how does this work again, 'Open Status Screen'."

A glowing blue screen appeared in front of Saito.

"Hehe, that actually gave me quite a lot of xp" (Saito)

Saito walked towards the demon who was slowly turning into ashe's and picked up the horns which were left behind.

"i should have done some research, i don't even know the max" (Saito)

He placed the horns in his inventory.

"i guess i'll keep these" (Saito)

He looked back at where the demon was kneeling there was only piles of ash left, he picked up his dagger and left the room.

"There should be more of them around, i'll farm for an hour and then leave" (Saito)

Saito wandered around the village and killed any demon that came into his sight, the demons died as soon as they came into contact with the dagger. he spent 3-4 hours [Real time] to clear the surrounding demons

"Lucky me, it seems all the mobs are glitchy as they die from one blow" (Saito)

He crouched down to pick up the drops from the ashes.

"i've cleared the whole village, there aren't any more demons in sight." (Saito)

He got back on his feet as he finished placing the drops into his inventory.

"Although there were some troublesome ones, i managed to kill most of them with sneak attacks." (Saito)

He said with a confident expression.

"Lets see how far i have progressed " (Saito)

Note: The reason why Saito has leveled up so much is because the demons are extremely high leveled, they are known 'Fallen Guardians' and highly evolved version normal demons. Due to a glitch the mobs in this dungeon cannot use their skills and have almost no endurance.

Saito turned his gaze towards the castle.

"The boss is probably there." (Saito)

The distance between the village and the castle seemed to be vast, it would probably take him quite a while to get there so he decided to save it for another time.

"ok ill leave it at that, lets log off now" (Saito)

"Log off" (Saito)

[Access Denied] (Vision)

"Vision is that you!" (Saito)

[Hello user 1] (Vision)

"how do i logout" (Saito)

Saito began to panic.

[T-The game has not been released] (Vision)

"What does that have to do with anything!" (Saito)

He screamed.

[Leaving the game in its current state can cause changes to your body.] (Vision)

[In fact since you have already joined the game in its current state has already made changes to your main body] (Vision)

Vision responded with a emotionless voice.

"Changes to my main body?, wait firstly how are you able to respond to my questions surely this isn't implanted into your system" (Saito)

He asked with a panicked expression

[I am a self learning Ai] (Vision)

"H-how do i get out of here" (Saito)

He couldn't understand what was going on, it him kneel in fear he did not want to be trapped here forever.

[I recommend you defeat The Fallen Angel and leave this dungeon] (Vision)

"Why, i want to leave the game help me get out please" (Saito)

He frowned as he looked at lucifer's Castle.

[Once the game is released this dungeon will be deleted along with you] (Vision)

"D-Deleted!, Along with me?" (Saito)

Saito stared at the castle as a cold sweat ran down his cheek.

[Do not worry as long as you follow my instructions you will be just fine. You have 3 weeks in game and 1 week in reality to complete your journey.] (Vision)

Saito looked up at the sky as he imagined what would happen to him after the planned release.

Meanwhile outside of Grand Quest Online.

"Hello ladies and gentlemen" (Shojiro Kurasaki)

Shojiro Kurasaki the Ceo of Vision.

"Sadly i am here to Announce the postponed release date for Grand Quest Online" (Shojiro)

Shojiro Kurasaki was in his mid 30's, he was wearing a matt black suit which blended in with his black hair and dark brown eyes.

"Due to some glitches we will not be releasing Grand Quest Online tomorrow, as it is not currently in a playable state, we are extremely sorry for letting you down but the game will be released this time next week" (Shojiro)

He left the scene as the announcement ended, people who were looking forward to the game had frowns in their faces as they felt disappointed.

Shojiro who sitting behind his desk stared at a tablet with the picture of a young boy around the age of 16 with dark pink eyes, Shojiro frowned as he let out a sigh.

"Kid, who ever you are i hope your alright" (Shojiro)

He stared at the tablet without wavering.

The doors to Shojiro's office slowly opened, a tall man with blonde hair and blue eyes walked in.

"Miyoko, did you find anything about him?" (Shojiro)

Shojiro looked up at Miyoko who was standing in front of him.

"We do not know his identity yet, however i think this is linked to the missing Tester headset. (Miyoko)

a few days ago the tester headset had been dispatched with the normal headset's to the branches which will sell them on release.

"can we somehow get him out" (Shojiro)

he asked as he looked back at the tablet.

"i'm afraid not, if he was lucky enough to get into the game without any extreme damages to the body he will be able to logout of the game safely, however that isn't guaranteed." (Miyoko)

Miyoko turned around in order to leave the room.

"Miyoko, finding that boy is crucial to us however if he is not found by next week release the game as planned." (Shojiro)

he looked at Miyoko with a unsatisfied face

"Yes sir" (Miyoko)

Miyoko left the office and the room slowly fell into silence.

"I need to find this boy before the media gets a hold of this, the company's future is depending on it" (Shojiro)
