Chapter 0029
The short Perrian Let headed downstair. Sylphie was already there, eating breakfast while she looked over some of talents.
“Have you configured your quick access bar yet?” Sylphie asked me.
“No. I’ll do it now.” The experienced player put the spells she learned for Altreyes to the quick access bar. There were ten slots, eight for spells and 2 for potions. Then she switch to Leviene and configure her skill. Asalia disappear nineteen seconds after she changed character. The short Perrian Let switched back to Altreyes to get Asalia to reappear, then switched over to Leviene to configure her skill. Asalia disappear 6 seconds after the change in class.
She changed back to Altreyes while she ponder the implication of companions or ghost able to exist even after the player change their class. Would some of the skills carry over? “Asalia, how it you are able to exist after I change my class?”
Asalia shrugged her shoulders.
“Who are you talking to?” Syphie asked probably puzzled by me talking to air. She wasn’t alarm since they are in a game.
“You can’t see my ghost companion?”
“No.”
If you use the Physical Manifestation skills, then she could see me. Otherwise we’re invisible to other player. We can’t attack while invisible yet.
How cool is that. Personal spy! Altreyes cast Physical Manifestation on Asalia. Sylphie was startled by the appearances of Asalia. The Tajin Nost looked over the ghost with a measuring expression, then said “Okay,” and went back to her whatever she was doing.
Altreyes, dense as she is, didn’t understanding the underlying meaning behind Sylphie’s gaze. Sylphie was glad Altreyes’ situational awareness was nonexistent. Altreyes might have realized her cousin was scheming something, and not her usual plots either. Sadly, the short Perrian Let has yet to develop her interpersonal awareness.
Sylphie underestimated Altreye’s astuteness. Altreyes was able to discern Sylphie’s strange behavior when she stared at Asalia but she had no intention of delving into Sylphie’s plots. Sylphie’s mind is always filled with plots, schemes, scenario, counter plots and what if conditions. For the simple minded Altreyes, the complex world called business was a game she have no intention of playing. Altreyes rather live a simple life a blue collar worker than the life of the rich and famous with all the backstabbing and the betrayal. The fame wasn’t worth the lack of privacy and the money was not worth paranoia. Each positive is followed by several negatives.

Altreyes hailed the waitress, placed her order, and pulled up her character sheet to ponder future stat distribution.
Erica shuffled down a little after breakfast arrived. She stole a bacon off Altreyes’ plate. “Where are we going today?” she asked.
Asalia took exception to Erica stealing the food. She manifest her scythe and slid it under Erica’s throat. With an icy cold voice Altreyes could never hope to mimic, Asalia said, “Don’t steal Altreyes’ food ever again.”
Erica sneered at Asalia, “Call off your pet Laurie.”
“Asalia is a companion, not a pet and she’s saving my bacon. Since I’d like for her to continue to do so, no.”
Erica lean back into a roll off her chair, pulling her weapons from their sheath. Asalia countered by pulling another chair from another table, slid it over hitting Erica’s knees, causing Erica to buckle and sit on the new chair. She slid the chair with Erica on it back to the table. She slid her scythe back under Erica’s throat. Asalia, I love you!
“Bitch.”
“So childish. You have to resort to name calling when you can’t win.” Altreyes sat back, enjoying Erica’s frustration.
“Laurie call off your dog or so help me god-”
“You’d do what? Tattle to your mom?” the short Perrian Let interrupted her rant.
“I’ll..I’ll.. I’ll kill you.” Erica got up to make good on her threat. Asalia, not wanting to kill Altreyes’ cousin, knocked Erica back into the chair with the pole side of her scythe.
“Pfft.”
“Laurie!”
“Enough children.” Sylphie cut in.
“She started it.” Erica pointed to Asalia.
“I don’t care who started it. End it now.” Sylphie stared Erica down, then turn her glare to Asalia. “Asalia is it?” Asalia nodded. “Erica and Leviene have a turbulent relationship, but they are family. So like family, they forgive each other the little things. Do not start a fight because of minor bull shit.”

“We’ll be fine if Soliel keeps her hand to herself,” Asalia countered.
Sylphie looked over to Erica. “What? It was only a slice of bacon!”
“It was only your Jimmy Choos!” Altreyes said referring to the incident where she borrowed a pair of shoes from Erica, was unable able to walk in those kill me stellos, fell flat on her face and Erica scream at her for ruining her shoes. She didn’t even care about the skinned arms Altreyes had when she broke her fall.
High heels require the wearer to have a good sense of balance, of which was mention several time before, but deserved to be repeatedly brought up, the short Perrian Let has no sense of balance. She is as graceful as a penguin on land. Happy Feet is an animation and doesn’t count!
“They’re not the same Laurie.” Erica glared at me.
“Enough you two. Keep the bull shit to a minium.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.” Erica grouched.
“Now I’ve been talking to a few players. They recommend Pixie Hill until level 10, then head over to The Dark Caverns and grind the personal instances. We shouldn’t do any quest yet. The mobs are being farmed like crazy. We’d have to camp the spawn point for hours before we can tag the mobs. It isn’t worth it.”
“I thought the door to the outside hasn’t opened yet? How can there be players already leveling?” Erica expressed what Altreyes was wondering.
“The door open at dawn today.”
“Then we can head out. The sooner we group up with John, the better it is.”
“Nope,” Altreyes contradicted, “we’re going to get our profession first. Then we can head out to grind.”
“What are professions?” Erica cut in annoyed. She gave Altreyes a pointed look, which Altreyes ignored, leaving Sylphie to answer her question.
“A profession is like a job you do in the game. Like a blacksmith or alchemist.” Sylphie turned towards the experienced player, “What profession are you going for?”
“Everything of course.” Sylphie should have known better than ask.
“Isn’t it a bit too much for you to level Laurie?” Erica looked puzzled and concern. Among the three players present, Erica experience the most hardship when trying to do everything. When she started her company with her partners, she tried to do everything for the company because she felt like she had to. It took her a year to learn how to delegate the workload.
“No. I want the professions. Doesn’t mean I have max it out. Most profession doesn’t take long to levels anyways. It’s the material that will be hard to get. With the way I farmed, I still end up selling most of the materials.”
“Oh.”
“Okay, we’ll hit the profession trainer then head out.” Sylphie said before going back to reading general chat.
