《Into the Hulk》Chapter 27: To the Middle

You reconvene you battle-brothers in the common room. Losis is already armored, armed, and ready; over-eager to get into a fight. Gorlin is calmly fitting new teeth onto his chainsword, meticulously saving the old, broken ones for reasons you can’t fathom. Hagrdict is murmuring an almost-inaudible prayer against the warp, bolstering his resolve for the coming mission.
You connect a dataslate to the table and activate the projectors. “Here is where we stand. As you can see, the majority of the Capitalis Congestus is as-yet unknown. Twenty-seven percent of its volume has been mapped, and approximately one percent of that same volume has been destroyed. Almost all of the exploration work so far has been in the ‘north’ and ‘east’ of the hulk, and has revealed nothing that might be a ‘Blighted Heart.’
“Our plan of action is thus: we will move to the center of the hulk,” you ‘tap’ your finger on the relevant section of the projection, “and then work our way to the ‘north-east’ corner of the Capitalis Congestus, mapping as we go. Should we not find our objective, we will asses our supplies and situation; and press onwards if we have the resources to do so. Questions?”
Gorlin shakes his head in the negative. Hagrdict locks his helm into place, ready to move. Losis racks the slide on his heavy bolter, the 1.57 caliber shell chunking into place.
You nod, not expecting anything else. “Brothers, we face unknown foes on uncertain grounds. We walk into the dark places, that others need not follow. We bring death onto the damned, fire onto the unclean. We stand as one, we stare into the abyss, and we dare it to stare back.”

Personal (Bonus) Objective: Unity - Do not allow Squad Cohesion to reach 0.
You lead your kill-team through the ruins of the Arno Dorian and the Lonely Drifter. Already you can feel Gorlin and Hagrdict pulling ahead and straining at the leash, eager to take the fight to the foe. Losis, for all his arrogance and previous eagerness, is hanging back and letting the spacing in your team stretch out. Each is moving to put himself in the best position to use his own talents without thinking of the rest of the team. This will not do.
Tactical Spacing activated: Squad operating in Squad Mode, reactions are now pooled.
5 Cohesion remains.
“Kill-team, close it up. Maintain Tactical Spacing. Gorlin, take point until the wreck of the Unflagging Resolve.”
“Rrgh. Confirmed.”
“By your command Alpha-one.”
“Affirmative Hunter.”
As you continue to move through the semi-familiar decks you ponder the map in the back of your head. You will need to go ‘north’ or ‘south’ of it to press forwards, and each path has its own benefits and costs.

The Book of Mors: Summoned
Around two thousand years ago, The world of Acoria suffered what is known as The Great Calamity, turning the continent of Teknish into a smouldering wasteland, irradiated by chaotic mana and ravaged by savage energy storms, causing the surviving sentient races to flee to the much smaller and resource deficient continent of Malthasia. The year is now 2101 AGC (After Great Cataclysm) and the intense competition for space and resources has left humanity with only three surviving kingdoms, protected by the nearly impassable mountains of the Antaeth basin. Standing on the verge of collapse, the human kingdom of Vonai is forced to perform a summoning ritual, ripping souls from another dimension and implanting them into magically created bodies. Little do they know that by doing so, they have changed the fate of the world and everyone in it, for, in the infinite dimensions of the mortal realm, there are some existences you do not want to provoke. 8 165The Tales of the Revolution
Synopsis: As a scholar of science and technology, Joseph Algorith was a man who pursued his dream in unrealistic methods, using his intelligence to surpass all hurdles in this Galactic Era. He was an idealist that combined his thoughts with realism. However, unbeknownst to him in how it had happened, he had gained the opportunity to research a new system, a massive planetoid shrouded in mysteries and magic. However, to fully realize his ambition and creativity, he must save the human race of this magical world, filled with different races and monsters. “The Heavens had forced me, so I shall propose and never will be disposed of.”- Joseph Algorith Spoiler: Basically, he is reborn, with his knowledge as a scientist of the galactic era, into a new world with magic and aura powers. In this world, humans are part of the 7 major races, but two (or three) are planning to enslave them, while the others are watching on the sidelines. His plans are to develop modern weapons to strengthen the human nation because the mages and aura users aren't immortal or have steel flesh even as they get more power to the point they can deal damage of a howitzer using special moves. Though it doesn't mean that there aren't magical armours (and other things)... Extra: I'm not sure if romance will be in this. Depends on whether you, the readers, would like it or how I develop the story further. And there won't be an exact release schedule as I prefer my pace of writing and because I'm busy in life (school and extra activities, FML). If you find any mistakes, please remind me. Also, my writing style and the pace of the story may be slower than other stories you might have read on this website. Though I may make some revisions with the story, considering my editor's thoughts. Also, my story has some concepts from RTW in terms of the idea of creating weapons in a magical world, however, the plot is mine. After reading, tell me, what do you think of the beginning? What do you think your rating would be.?If possible, comment down below anything that could help me improve or to express your thoughts. Lastly, please NO COPY AND PASTE!

8 179Deliverance : an adaption of Jane Eyre
This is one of those 'what if' adaptations. I've always wondered why Mr Rochester had to be broken so thoroughly before he could be happy with Jane Eyre. What if she had not been able to get away, what if he had been waiting by her door a second time, pleading her to stay? Would she indeed have lost herself and been made his mistress?
