《Mother Dryad & Father Dragon》Chapter 19

“Uhh.” I groan, collapsing onto the ground.
“Come on, get up! We've only got a few more rounds!” My father says. My father has been putting me through combat training for the past three weeks. He said he wanted to give me another gift a few days ago, but my body wasn't ready. I need to bulk up, but I'm only 6 years old and can only gain a bird chest and skinny abs.
It will most likely be a few years before I receive another gift from my father. I wanted to return to mana training with my mother and learn new skills, but my father's training was taking up too much of my time and making my body too weak to do anything.
Despite the fact that it appears that I am complaining about it, the gains in levels have compensated for it. My Powered Punch has reached level 24, and my Powered Kick has reached level 21. My estimated attack power has now surpassed 100. According to Little Helpers, I can easily handle E and D rank hunters. He did, however, exclude special items and slavers who had enslaved mythical creatures. Basically he crapped on my confidence.
I even managed to get my Vine Control to level 50, but Little Helper advised me to stop trying to train it any further. After level 50, it appears that you must be actively engaged in combat to level up any skill. He even coined his own proverb, saying that it doesn't matter how many times you train, it's the battle that counts. Despite the disappointment, it allowed me to concentrate on other skills.
“I told you to get up, son!” My father yells.
“Ok.” I say standing up and charging back into the fight, armed with a Powered Fist.

Kitty Cat Kill Sat
Ownership of the last functioning piece of orbital infrastructure kind of puts you in a position of responsibility. The fact that there's a lack of thumbs in the process makes it a challenge. But challenge is, as far as anyone can prove, my middle name.

A certain trickster spirit was fond of saying, 'me and my big fat mouth'. That could be Jasper Stone's motto. There's never been a situation in his life he didn't make worse by opening his mouth, because when he does, ridiculous amounts of trash-talk and overconfidence just spills out. He's never managed to do anything with his wits -- but when the God of Fools tosses him into another world for amusement's sake, he'll need to put them to use. Because there are bandits, dragons, and cultists out there -- none of whom appreciate Jasper's particular gift for insults. --Cover by the inimitable Vitaly S Alexius.
