《Mother Dryad & Father Dragon》Chapter 1

“Yes, Grandmother I’ll be coming soon just wait a second. Grandmother, you can't be asking me these questions in public!” I yell into the phone.
It isn't my fault. I had to walk to the gas station today, in the rain. It's been a living nightmare since she learned how to use a phone. Call after call checking in to see if I'm okay. I adore her, but come on, I have boundaries.
Despite the fact that I have stated I will never abandon her. She has raised me since I was a child. I consider it my responsibility to do the same for her as she did for me. She learned from her Facebook group that older people require milk, specifically low fat milk, to help their bones. Which is only available 7 blocks away.
I eventually got the milk despite rude people and drunken homeless men. I eventually make it to the crosswalk, where I wait for the walk sign despite the cats and dogs. Suddenly, the phone in my pocket starts ringing again. I sigh as I feel a vibration in my pocket. I answered by pulling out my phone. “Grandma...”
I feel a push from behind me out of nowhere. I collapse onto the wet pavement, ready to yell at the perpetrator. "Honk!!" Looking to my left, a truck slams into me, throwing me into the air.
As I landed on the ground, I felt as if my body was twisted. A crowd surrounded me, screaming and crying, attempting to help me, but I couldn't care less. The only thing I could hear was my Grandmother calling for me. Oh, how I wished I could talk to her again.
I try and try to reach with avail only to see a man hang it up with a grin on his face. “He needs chest compressions!!” He yells pushing them out of the way. What is he doing?! Placing his hands on my chest he pushes hard, to hard.

Why isn't anyone noticing this? He's suffocating me. Why aren't you aware of it? With one final push, I feel something inside of me crack. As I lay there fading away, blood coughs up from my body. My life and pain flashed before my eyes. I'm sorry, Grandma, but I'm dying.
