《I can cheat? So let's have fun.》Chapter 2: Journey and first encounter.

Journey log.
Day 1.
After rather quick landing I acquired the sacred knowledge of blowing up things using a mana. Without the aimbot it is useless. I blame the wind. My strongest weapon is the darkpole. I name it like that because of lightsabre’s cutting power it poses... and it's dark... and it's a pole.
Note: You can kill a lot of lizard-dogs things by spinning around with the darkpole like an idiot.
Day 2.
I started moving forward. Looks like this body doesn't need to eat, sleep or drink. Monsters keep attacking me but they still take less time than a cactus.
To do list:
-get a castle
-get a Regalia
-get shoes
-find civilization
Day 4.
I tried flying. By coating my feet in mana I can walk in the air but it really doesn't differ from normal walking. By coating and moving my body with mana I can fly... slower than by walking. I can also launch myself like a bullet but I can't really control it good enough. It ends by breaking my bones at the start and landing, also last method requires me to aim...
Day 7.
I found new method of traveling. By infusing mana with my muscles they can become much stronger. There is also a limit. When I infused too much in my arm it have exploded. Now I am traveling with my legs boosted up. I thing I could outrun a car.
Day 10.
Nothing new happens.
Day 15.
I saw a bird.
Day 18.
Still nothing.
Day 23.
I am bored.
Day 26.
I made a friend. His name is Woody. He is a rock.
Day 28.
Still traveling and Woody is complying all the time.
Day 33.
I thought I saw a bird but Woody told me it is a cloud.

Day 35.
Still desert. I wonder if someone missing me? Never mind, my every friend and family member is dead. I wonder if gods count as a natural disaster? And if you can get insurance for this...
Day 37.
I separated from Woody. We got a serious fight. He though I am insane! Hmph! Mom was right.
Day 40
I see a castle! That means I can stop writing this sh*t!
***********
"Ehhh" Bob sighed. It is the next day of his job as a guard. In the most boring place-a watchtower at night. Today is twin full moon so it is bright like a day.
'C'mon it is a desert. What I should watch out for? The sand?'
Unexpectedly, when he turned his head he saw something. It was far away but getting close at incredible speed. From this distance, what Bob saw looked like a black dot that is emitting a black smoke.
"WHAT IS THIS!?" Bob couldn't believe what he sees. But now matters what he was sure. Something is coming and it is dangerous.
"ALARM!!!"
**********
Xiodar is getting closer to the castle. He couldn't believe that he had found someone here. 'What that cursed desert is even called? Now I can figure out.' When he wondered he saw a little dot in front of his face.
"WOW!" In last second he falls back but because of his speed he slide into the sand and have his lower half buried in the ground. "What the hell are you doing!"
"I could ask the same." Answered young man. He looked little older than Xiodar, has blue eyes and white hair. His outfit looked like some noble clothes and in hand he is holding a rapier- the mysterious black dot.
"Which one send you!"

"? Who send who?" Buried man asks.
"Don't play with me! Or are you just a distraction?!"Young man asks.
"Are you pissed of someone or the war is going on?" Xiodar asks calmly.
"Don't act! You come here to get rid of me!" Noble shouts.
"If I come to kill you I wouldn't run here at full speed and was expecting a attack!"
"Shut up! You are just a distraction!"
"So why are you still talking to me?!"
"...That isn't what a distraction would say..."
"Because I am not a distraction!"
"That's exactly what distraction would say! Or you pretending to be distraction and will attack me when I turn my back to you!"
"That is too complicated! And these two options don't neglects each other’s!"
"! You are right! Then what should I do?!"
"In that situation you should quickly kill me and go back!"
"Yeah! That sounds good!" He swings the rapier at him but Xiodar blocks it with the darkpole.
'It didn't get cut?' Xiodar widens his eyes. That never happened before. 'Is he infusing mana in his sword?'
"Now what are you doing?!"
"? Trying to kill you quickly and return to the castle?" He ask like this was oblivious.
"If you consider me an enemy then why are you listening to me!"
"Because you wouldn't suspect I will listen to your advice!"
"You are listening someone who named a rock Woody!"
"...What?"
Using a chance Xiodar uses his dark ball in close distance.
*BOOOOOOM*
Using explosion Demon lord escapes ground and gains distance. Then when he sees a figure behind a cloud of sand.
"...You missed." Unscratched man says.
"SERIOUSLY?"
***************
*WHOOOSH**WHOOOSH**WHOOOSH*
Xiodar swings his darkpole like mad. Young man still avoiding it with ease.
"Stop dodging!" Mad man shouts.
*WHOOOSH*
"A opening!" Noble cuts Xiodar's side.
*CLANG*
"EH?!" When the rapier touch the enemy it's blocked by dark smoke around ."You using raw mana like a mad but still standing after a hour."
"Heh I was running two days like this. So I can fight you as long as you want." Xiodar grins like devil with he is.
"Ugh..." Noble looks at enemy with a hateful gaze.
'It looks like he can't afford to fight for too long' Demon lord swings his weapon at young man. "I can accept your capitulation"
"What?!"
"Give up or do you want fight all night?"
"!"Noble looks shocked.
'Wow! What's up with that reaction? Wait... looking at his outfit and considering that reaction...' Xiodar unconsciously smiles. "You are a vampire?"

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’

8 130Art of Mortality
New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? Why do worlds have to perish when the gods say so? Why do only immortals get to live forever, why not mortals like him? As his family, friends, and his loved one died, he lamented. He wailed, he cried. He cursed the immortals, blasphemed the gods, spat at the heavens. But he was just a mere mortal. His curses were pointless, his blasphemous words were useless, and his spits only returned back to fall on his face. At last, he thought, enough was enough, he would definitely do something about it. He decided that it was time for the multiverse to know what a mortal can do. He was the first mortal to cultivate. Eventually, after a long struggle, he killed the Immortals, enslaved the Gods, and shattered the heavens. He reshaped the multiverse and rewrote his fate. In the end, he reincarnated as he decided upon a grand scheme, a scheme to rule 'All and Always'. He came up with the concept of what is known today as 'Paragon'. And with this, all of reality, 'All and Always', was finally reforming, according to a Mortal's Wish. Synopsis (Old): In the vast and complex multiverse, what can a mortal accomplish? In the grand scheme of things, what can a mortal change? In truth, what is a mortal, and what is mortality? Being mortal is being ordinary, the same as being trash, or so says The World. "No, mortality is an art, and a true mortal is a grand artist. Being the root of all, a mortal can become anything.", says a young mortal boy. Meet Edward Alexander, a mortal boy walking the path against gods and immortals, fighting to the end to rewrite his destiny, and change the grand scheme of things. Can he really change the grand scheme of things? Or maybe he himself is the Grand Schemer? To know the answer, follow Edward Alexnder on his journey to demonstrate the Art of Mortality.*******

Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...
8 169Artificial Selection: A Near Future Thought Experiment
Michael Livingstone is a literal intellectual prodigy born at an unfortunate time when artificial intelligence has replaced the human workforce, with the only exceptions of art, humanities, and AI development industries. Trust is deteriorating in society with the increasing frequencies of assaults, deception, and terrorism by and against the globalized national government. Michael always relies on his intellectual talent with space and perception along with some of his dauntless risk-taking spirit to escape danger in this society. However, Michael soon finds out that this situation involves way more players, variables, and conflicts of interests than he could calculate. This situation is so much more complex than a protest against unemployment, in fact it is a life-and-death matter -- the survival of humanity's civilization.
