I gave everyone a day to relax and alleviate fatigue. Some couples disappeared at some point and came back a couple of hours later.

Including me and Noemi. Just by looking at her eyes I understood that it had been a while since we last did it.

Once everyone gathered again, some far happier and excited than others, we departed in the direction of the demon king's castle.

At a certain point, Kit flinched.

I heightened my senses and felt a blade directed at my neck.

I caught the blade with my bare hand, carefully missing the blade in the chance it was poisoned.

I couldn't feel him at all...

«What's the meaning of this? Nexus?» (Me)

He calmly stepped back and looked me in the eyes. After taking a quick glance at Noemi, he stepped back forward.

«I was just thinking... I'm much better of a leader than you are.» (Nexus)

Noemi was about to step forward but I lifted my arm, signaling everyone to stay put.

- To think fate would try to correct itself at this point. -

«Why don't you prove it to me then?» (Me)

Nexus smiles and disappears.

I can't feel it but Kit is looking around the place. I assume he is moving really fast around me.

«Let's me warn you that the next time that dagger comes near me will be it's last. Make it count.» (Me)

After a few seconds, Kit growled.

Thanks to that, I was able to sense the dagger and parried with my gauntlet.

He quickly disappears again but it's over now.

The Gauntlet left little shards of metal embedded on his dagger.

Even if I can't feel him, I can perfectly feel the metal from my gauntlet.

I sense him going around, moving really fast.

But not nearly fast enough when compared to me.

I quickly close the distance and punched the place where I thought the head was.

A clean hit.

He was sent flying against a tree trunk.

«You want to be the leader yet you fight without even a strategy? Keep dreaming.» (Me)

Everyone waited till he got back up and departed.

Nothing else occurred until we arrived at the castle but it's sure to happen more eventually.
