《Life of Two》[4] – Arrival

Day or night, all that mattered was following my given task... do not alter and do not falter...

They taught me that this was why I was born. For that reason alone... I shall follow that purpose to the end.

As the noises of clattering rang lowly behind my back from within the village as I looked straight towards the 18th Sector which had suddenly become silent as the abyss, I witnessed as it withered away as if a vortex sucked its vitality away.

It was neither shocking nor affecting. It was not my purpose to see to care, my purpose is to guard... if an enemy shall arrive... I shall not hold back.

Although I do believe the 18th Sector was in this state previously before, which after it seemed to come back to life... Will it happen again? Well, it matters not to me.

Let thoughts fall away...

I must simply focus... on my purpose.

...

Looking ahead, Fatir let out a slight sigh. The 'aura' around the stern and stiff elf atop the treetop in front was completely blank. Only a single patch of green the size of marble existed. It was still a wonder to him the amount like him that existed. He knew very well the why and how, but seeing so many over and over was exhausting...

Snapping the arrow in his hand as it dropped with a *TA* to the plain ground, Fatir wanting not to waste time released his Divine Aura which permeated through the Elven Edell settlement.

Divine Aura was like an identity chip, so it was the best and the easiest way to do things here. His Divine Aura could certainly harm if he let it, but he made sure to control it enough.

In a moment, the elf who had shot the arrow and four others landed in front of him away at an appropriate distance with their heads lowered slightly as mana slowly leaked away from them. That was an adverse effect of being in the presence of a divine aura, one of the many, and Fatir could control it but left it anyway. The races in the mortal realm and high realm all were troublesome and sometimes had rather thick skulls.

Looking at the four, a moment of silence befall.

Miru who was sitting next to Fatir gazed at them slowly, giving the five an eerie feeling wanting to retreat back but Fatir quickly pacified Miru as he placed his palm on Miru's head causing they to lower their presence, giving small relief to the five elves.

Considering everything he knew, Fatir was aware that greater gods had stopped their descent long ago and only "fools" who had come to play gathered somewhere but had their powers locked and basically became mortals, so his presence was a heavyweight on these elves alone, there was no need to pester them with Miru's fractured and twisted one which was directly against there's. The action of the mana around was already turning chaotic as he eased his own presence slightly.

None but the one who had shot an arrow let the thoughts in their mind affect their outward appearance though as they kept a calm expression.

"Welcome your Grace."

"Ah- Welcome, your Grace!"

They decided to act as if Miru was there, but also not.

Waving his hand slightly, Fatir looked at them and spoke, "Greetings."

Bringing back in his divine aura as he had already confirmed the personalities of the present, Fatir without delay swished his hand slightly as a parchment appeared in front of him which held golden text. Grabbing the parchment, Fatir looked at the four elder elves, ignoring the young guard.

The eyes of the four elder elves shook as they looked at the parchment in Fatir's hand. A presence they were familiar with echoed heartily. If they could've, they would question the name of Fatir immediately but they understood their place and kept their hearts quiet... especially in front of an unrestricted Grace of Mana such as him.

Holding the shoulder of the young elf guard, one of the elders made sure he made no sudden actions as his own and his fellow elder elves felt their mana spiking.

Seeing the actions of the elves and their unease fueled by burning reverie, Fatir hid away the parchment causing the sudden bowing of the elves copied by the guard,

~Chirp!~

With a bird's chirping in the background, "It seems you understand... let's not delay then," Fatir lightly spoke with a warm tone as he slowly started to mumble another lullaby, this one having no other effect than offering Yul a good dream.

"Your Grace, please follow us..." One of the elves carefully said as his blond head of hair sparkled slightly with the moonlight.

"Lead the way."

With no further words, under an illuminated path, the group walked along as a gate creaked shut from behind.

Coming to this forest after his descent was not without reason, finally beginning his mission, Fatir had a soft smile.

Handing the sleeping Yul to a well-mannered elf as Miru slept beside Yul's temporary room, Fatir started a talk that would change the fates of those in the Elven Edell settlement. Something taken from their ancestors had brung them a string.
