《Master Dungeon Network》Chapter 04 : The work begins

"Kosax, tell me what are the buildings, you think you have an idea?"
"My Lord, I know the concepts of many buildings. I have to try one by one."
'So expected of you! I am not surprised anymore.'
Lord's dwelling(Crude)
Builder's dwelling(Basic)
Basic Workshop
Farm
Croft
Lookout(Basic)>
"You know a few things, but not a lot. I will help you imitate some of the structures of my world. But, I am not an architect, so I won't be able to help you with the minute details. I am only able to tell you about the overall structures."
"That will suffice, my lord. I will try to gain more insights from those structures."
Joy started to ponder about the start. It was never his job, as Sree used to take most of these decisions. Rik helped her, and Joy used to boss them with tons of complaints. He never faced the dilemma of making the correct choice. He started to think, if Sree was here, what would be her choice.
"Argggghhhhhh! Why am I the pioneer of Earth out of the whole population? Someone, please advise me."
'Right, I was supposed to ask Kosax about his opinion. I am not omnipotent. I have my weaknesses. I should seek others' opinions from an early stage to overcome my weaknesses.'
"Kosax, tell me, from where should we begin."
"My lord, I would suggest starting with your resting place. If the lord doesn't have a place to rest, the builders will start to worry soon. Which will impact their efficiency", Kosax didn't delay the conversation with sweet words.
Joy was happy that Kosax didn't waste time as they were tight on time. He directly came to the topic. But if Sree was here, what would have been her choice? She definitely won't go for her dwelling in the first place.
"I like your attitude of coming straight to point, but I don't need a resting place shortly. For now, the rest of the projects will be essential. We don't have much time, as the raiders will find the location very soon. We need more specialized workers. But, most importantly, we need food. So we would start with a farm or croft. The farm will yield food at a later time. We need an immediate solution, which can be shouldered by me. I will go out to hunt animals. Okay, we need a place to stay. Start with a basic dormitory building. Then we can move to a community kitchen and hall. Then we can start with the common workshop. Ahhhh, so much work to do."
"My lord, I am ashamed that I don't have any concept about the buildings you just mentioned. Please punish me."
"Huh? Don't worry. Those were the buildings from my world. I will go through the basic structure. But, you need to modify the details."

Joy then started to explain the building to Kosax. The basic idea of Joy's dormitory was to accommodate at least 100 people. So he mentioned the structure to be built keeping in mind about the future. Right now, only one floor and about 20 beds will be made, along with few chests and one small chamber for Joy. It was recommended by a worker standing nearby. As soon as it was proposed, all the workers started to firmly nod. It seemed like the building was incomplete without it. Joy didn't force them anymore, as he needed the workers to stay energetic.
He mentally visualized the structure and started to share it with Kosax. He made the design as a 3x4 structure. In each of the base, a double bed would be there in 10 of them. One would be left vacant for the stairs in the future, and the other would be used for a single small cabin for Joy. The details of the cabin were left for Kosax to make.
As for the kitchen and hall, it would be a 2x4 structure. He visualized the structure as a narrow eatery on Earth and how it was made. The kitchen would be at the backside 2 tiles, and the rest would be converted into a dining hall. The kitchen and dining space would be separated by a wall.
As Joy kept on lecturing, the eyes of Kosax and another 2 workers shined. They gained much insight from the outline of the building. Kosax knew the design of the basic workshop. So, the projects were kept in the pipeline until the forest was ready. Now, Joy needed to plan for food as workers could not work without food.
As he was pondering about the next course of action, a notification popped inside his mind. He suddenly remembered as he was lecturing about the structures, some notifications popped up similarly. He put his concentration inside his mind.
He looked around his location and found many new things. He was standing in the middle of a meadow. There was a dense forest in the end. He was too distracted with the explanation of new projects and then with the notifications and thoughts. He missed the terraformation. He cast aside the useless speculation and started to instruct the people to start cutting the trees. But soon, they met with new challenges. They did not have any equipment to cut the trees. Joy overlooked this issue entirely.
Suddenly, a worker came and suggested a good strategy. If they could have obtained a few pieces of large rocks, they could start with making crude axes. They had branches there, but rocks were unavailable in the Dungeon. If he knew earlier, then he could have considered a hill or something while terraforming. He sighed and thought of an alternative.
The system's voice lit a light of hope. He abruptly rushed outside the Dungeon. The workers were stunned as Joy vanished from the world. They kept staring, and one or two tried to tail him. But they found themselves in the fog outside the forest. They could not understand anything, so they dejectedly traced back to their original spots.

Joy came back after half an hour from another side. He found out two things. He could only move inside the influence of Dungeon. Outside that, it seemed the time was stopped. Luckily, the influence circle of the Dungeon had covered some rocky mountain places. He found a few large rocks, as mentioned by that worker. He quickly put all in the spatial ring. Another exciting information he discovered, he could enter the dungeon from any side of the home. He thought he had to go through the door region to enter, which was a misconception from his end.
Once he brought the stones in, the eyes of the workers were bulging out. They saw their lord went missing for half an hour, and now he came back from a different angle. He brought those large rocks like it did not weigh a single gram.
"Don't panic, I can come and go out of this Dungeon. I will try to bring you guys out as well, but that is not possible right now. We need to become stronger. Once I become more powerful, I may bring you to my world as well."
They all thought the same thing at the same time. They had to make their lord strong to go out and visit the outside world. They had an adrenalin rush at that moment. They all started to make crude axes to bring down the trees. They needed to build the settlement as soon as possible. Joy smiled and nodded his head. These workers were not mindless, they knew their goals pretty well.
He then sat on the grass and put out the swords. One was a gift from Sree and another from Jax. He was too shameless to use 2 swords gifted by 2 ladies, and never had the opportunity to give them any gifts.
Joy suddenly felt intrinsic pain in his heart. He started to miss Sree a lot, unlike ever before. All the time, Sree was there beside him, so he never took her too seriously. He always fooled around her. Now, as she was not there, it left a deep vacant area in his heart and mind. He needed to become stronger to survive this challenge and meet with Sree soon.
With the newfound resolution, he silently went to the other side of the dungeon and started to swing his swords.
"Hugh! Hah! Yah! ..."
Soon, he started to ignore the time flow unconsciously. He swung his swords, felt the power, and adjusted the posture and angles. Again he swung his swords, felt the power, and adjusted the power. Like that, he immersed so much that when Kosax called him, he had to call several dozen times.
"My lord, are you able to hear me?", Kosax literally shouted this time. Which brought back Joy, to reality. He abruptly came back to senses. It took him a few breaths to understand the current time and space. He shyly smiled and responded to Kosax with curious eyes.
"My lord, you may punish this humble servant as I have dared to interrupt your training. But I have something to discuss."
"Huh? No, it's fine. How much time has passed? What is the situation of the projects? And yeah, what do you want to discuss?"
"My lord, almost half day has passed since you started training. We are cutting logs right now. With the crude axes, we are really unable to do it properly. We need around 30 logs and some planks. But, as the day is progressing, the workers are feeling hungry. So..."
"Ah, shit! I completely forgot." Joy started to run outside with a flustering face.
"My lord, we can hunt the small prey in the forest."
"No, wait for me. Don't disturb the budding ecosystem. I created it with so many points."
"My lord, if you are the only one able to go outside and bring food, you will be too occupied with that. We need a long term solution."
"Wait for me. We will discuss this as soon as I come back."
'System, how much time is left for the dormant stage to be over?'
'Oye! Oye! We can always catch up with our sweet romance later. My boys are hungry. Can you tell me first?'
'Shit. I wasted a lot of time.'
Joy rushed outside, placing both the swords in his hands. Subconsciously, he started to use dual wielding. Once he stepped outside of the dungeon, he felt something different. The apparently stopped world outside the influence of the dungeon started to become alive.
He stepped outside of the influence dome for the first time. He took the first true air of Milma. It was very refreshing. The sky was bright, exactly like Earth. The forest in front of him was very lively. The birds were chirping, and the leaves were rustling. He forgot all the pains and suddenly became happier. But, maybe God was too jealous. Or so, what he thought.
He sat down under a tree and began to enjoy the mild breeze. He put his swords down and started to whistle. All the good memories started to crowd inside his head. All the good days spent with family, friends and obviously Sree. He started to daydream about those happy moments. Remembering those memories, he started to produce a broad smile.

As such, it's mostly wish fulfillment based loosely on anime, light/web novels and comics. But wait, why post my strange, gruesome dream world on the internet? Because, I have a goal of one day writing something worth publishing. But to reach that goal, I need criticism, suggestion and advice. Plus it feels like a waste to keep this beauty all to myself. I currently plan to release one chapter a week, on Saturday afternoon or evening.
