《Transformers Reborn》New Friend (Chapter 9)

It's been about a week since we took off. And guess what, apparently we CAN get drunk! Imagine that! Giant machines acting drunk! God, it was a sight to behold.
"Hey Greyhound, how much longer till we get to Cybertron?" I asked the grey, bulky robot.
“About a day. We’re currently moving at the fastest safe speed with my engines. Remind me to scavenge whats left of Cybertron and upgrade the engines." He responded
I nodded, and sat back in Greyhound's comfortable captains chair. I had all the fancy buttons, which I was not sure if they served any real purpose or not. Though I dont want to test the 'Big Red Button'.
Finally, we arrived above the floating scrap heaps of Cybertron. Greyhound put the ship in hovering mode. We left through the airlock to go get better engines, if there was any around. We landed on what used to be the surface of Cybertron.
"Well kid, this is it. Cybertron, in all it's metal glory." He said sarcastically.
The entire place was dark. Not a light to be seen. I mean, it's not Earth, but I still feel sad for all the lives lost.
I crouch down and touched the ground, feeling the cold metal. Next to my hand was a head of someone.
I reeled back at the sight, the head scaring me.
"Ah, thats a terrible way to die. Constantly in pain before your spark is destoryed. Gotta suck." Greyhound's deep voice spoke.
I sighed and moved on. We walked the streets and saw buildings, the corpses of the unlucky scattered about, littering the streets like trash.
Soon, we found a junkyard with crashed ships laying around the pile and in it. Greyhound told me to stay in the yard while he scavenged the ships around us.

When I wanted to go to Cybertron, I.. expected it to be a bit more lively. I should have expected this. My foot hit something. It was a leg that was attached to a body. A full body, with no detached parts. He was scratched here and there, but other than that, he was fine. I picked him up and layed him down on a wall so I could get a better look.
By my guess, his vehicle form was some kind of futuristic Bugatti. His chest had sticker say 'LOUD UND PROUD'. His paint scheme was a deep purple, like eggplant or something. On his feet were something that looked like speakers.
Geeze. He must have been here for a long time after Cybertron was destroyed. I wonder...
I went back to my human days of childhood and remembered one episode of a Transformers TV show. It showed Megatron using Dark Energon to revive another Cybertronian (I don't remember his name.) He ended up like a Zombie, trying to kill anything he went across.
Maybe I could do it, but without the Bloodlust? I foucused my inner Energon into a ball and opened up the chest of the Cybertronian in front of me. I shoved the energy ball into his chest, and the body started to spasm.
"Jesus!" I yelled out as it's spasming scared the crap out of me. Soon, the movements slowed, and his eyes glowed a bright purple. He blinked.
"What da 'ell?" He spoke, which caused me the cheer inside. I reached my hand out to him. "Need some help up?"
He grabbed my hand and pulled himself up onto his speaker-feet. "How? I thought I was dead!" He asked me.
"You were. And I brought you back. Care to tell me your name?"
"Psycobar. Member of the group Out-Sanity. How long has it been?"
"Echo. And I don't know. I 'woke up' just as Cyberton blew." I told him.
"Huh, well, do you know a way of this ball of metal?"
"Greyhound probably just finished scavenging. We landed to look for parts for our engines. Come on, let's go."
I grabbed his hand and dragged him back to our ship. Why did I drag him? Probably because he was having trouble walking.
Made sense, though.

When young Darek flees imperial mages tasked to exterminate shape-shifters, he launches them all on a voyage to redeem their unsought destiny. United by fate and guided by prophesy, their growing band of fugitives journey for A'lara to fight the ancient evil infiltrating the capital. But looming over the gears of fate, their enemies follow the same prophesies. With the unknown close upon them, Kingard and his allies face a mortal quest to restore their infected empire. Praise for Awakening: If you love Anne McCaffrey, J.R.R. Tolkien and Tad Williams, then Awakening is a novel you will surely want to pick up. D.N.Frost is a consummate world-builder with a knack for creating characters that are complex and three-dimensional. Frost writes with graceful prose that is descriptive and well-edited. The plot is fast-paced and entertaining. What really sets this novel apart is the cartography, which is a spectacular accomplishment. Incredible world-building! - M.L. Spencer, author of The Rhenwars Saga ★★★★★ This novel was published in 2014, and it includes 19 antique watercolor maps! Check them out: Maps of Awakening: an atlas directory

Demon Hunters
Far in the future, the last two viable cities in the western hemisphere – Technoburbia and New Baravia – struggle for control over a vast and largely desolate land. Officially they are at war. In practice, the war has been a stalemate for a generation, the disputed frontier between the two city-states never moving. In the city of New Baravia itself, a vast circular concrete wall keeps its inhabitants in, and its refugees out. For its citizens, life is monotonous and unequal, with enormous wealth in the hands of nobles, criminal gangs, and entertainment bosses. It is the last of these that control the hit entertainment show, “Demon Hunters”. A chance, perhaps, for the ordinary man or woman to rise up, and change their fate... This LitRPG novella is based around a futuristic battle-royale situation, partly set in VR, and partly in a post-apocalyptic city. The story features combat and action, some strong language, and lots of great characters that will stick with you! [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
