《The Chronicle of a Witch》Chapter 14 Mochi Armor?

After the silly Goddess, the silent God, Donald and Zero left, I was left alone in home. Speaking of which, Zero abruptly pinched my cheek when he saw me and Donald did it too. I was truly speechless with their action, but I wouldn’t let it bother me too much.
More importantly, I had to think a plan. Yes, a plan to deal with my phobia.
I knew that logically speaking, my phobia was really didn’t make any senses at all. How could you fall into the sky? Unless, naturally, you used Magic, but in this world, only a handful of people could do things like that. So, it was impossible for me to fall into the sky.
However, no matter how much I tried to convince myself, whenever I stepped outside, my head grew heavy and dizzy. It was really an unreasonable fear that was impossible to cure. At least, it would be impossible to cure by reason.
So, what should I do to deal with this problem?
The answer was actually quite simple. I was scared of falling into the sky, so I needed something to make my heart feel ease. For example, roof. Outside, I could use tree. It didn’t cure my phobia, but it made me feel a little bit safer. Yes, all I needed was an anchor to the ground.
However, normal anchor wouldn’t allow me to move about. Also, speaking of anchor, I was thinking about heavy armor but the problem was I was weak physically, so it was impossible for me to wear heavy armor. How could I make myself stay on the ground then?
And after thinking for two days and three nights, I had an idea. I was quite skilled in controlling my Slimes, right? So, could I use my Slimes as my anchor to the ground?
For example, I used my Slimes as my armor and if I suddenly pulled into the sky, the Slime on the sole of my feet would suddenly pierce the ground and make a root there so I wouldn’t be pulled into the sky. That was my idea for now, but there was a problem.
I could use my Familiar Slime to do that, as I had various types of Familiar Slime. For example, the Earth Slime or better known as Brown Slime. Unlike typical jelly-like substance that made its body, Brown Slime was solid like a rock. Some people might mistake a Brown Slime as your typical rock because of its appearance. Also, it was quite strong.
However, as expected, I didn’t have Mana to summon Familiar Slime. Oh, right, the Aqua Slime from earlier was still there. My Familiar Slime wouldn’t disappear unless they were killed. However, just like water, using Aqua Slime to be anchor was kind of useless. It was better to use the Smokeless Slime as anchor as even though it was not solid like the Brown Slime, it was better than the water-like substance of Aqua Slime.
I didn’t try it immediately by going outside, of course. I tried to use Slime Shoes, that was how I called the Smokeless Slime that I wore like shoes. It wasn’t comfortable, and well, it felt like my feet were sunk into mud, but it wasn’t that bad. However, there was a slight problem. Walking with it was quite annoying, as whenever I walked, I heard the ‘byoop’ ‘byoop’ sound!

I felt like I was wearing infant’s shoes… cough, putting aside the annoying sound, it didn’t feel weird wearing it. Rather, it was as comfortable as not wearing anything and walked on the smooth floor.
Alright, so, now, I should try transforming it into an anchor, right? Smokeless Slime was naturally sticky, so, on the floor like this, I didn’t need to pierce the ground and make a root out of the Slime. On the ground, however, I would feel safer if I could do that. Now, it was troublesome.
I wanted to test this Slime shoes ability, yet I didn’t dare to directly test it outside. Well, before that, I should try my other idea.
Like I said, the Smokeless Slime was naturally sticky, however, being pulled with a strong force could pull it apart from the ground. If I only relied on the shoes, I wouldn’t feel safe. So, next, I should make my whole body could stick to the ground, so no matter what happened, I would be safe.
So, I created Slime Armor. It was magnificently… alright, weird. However, I didn’t care about the model of the armor now, as I wanted to test whether it was doable to use it or not. So, I wore this Slime Armor, which felt like entering a swamp. Well, I believed it was clean though, unlike swamp.
The Slime Armor, even though I didn’t make a beautiful appearance, it was useable. I tried to stick my whole body on the floor and even with my whole strength, I wasn’t able to pull my body away from the floor. Well, my strength was really low, so I should ask the silly Goddess to try pull me away, but not now.
I could control the Slime to some extent even though I didn’t put my whole consciousness into the Slime. So, I could control how sticky it was and pulled my body apart from the floor. After that, I tried sticking to the wall and it succeed! Even when I was sticking on the ceiling, I didn’t fall down!
Well, as expected of Slime. Even though they were weak, they were very useful and had a lot of potential. As expected of me, digging their potential like this!
Now then, let’s move to my next experiment!
I got this idea from a certain superhero in my childhood time on Earth. That superhero could shoot white, sticky substance from his hands and he swung around the city with it. Well, I didn’t think that I would be able to swing through the city, but I wanted to shoot the white, sticky substance from my hand, in case I needed it.
So, I shot the Slime from my hand. It succeeded in the first try, however, there were problems that I had to take care so it would be useable. The biggest problem, however, this substance, even though it was sticky and could stretch, but it was too weak!
Yep, even though the thickness of the Slime was around my hand’s, but it broke when it only held my body’s weight. The problem was in the material itself, which was the Smokeless Slime being too weak. Oh well, I should think a method to strengthen my Smokeless Slime later.

For now, I wanted to do two things. First, training this Slime Armor so I could wear it instantly and second, I wanted to make a beautiful and cool-looking armor!
For now, I felt like wearing a, well, a Slime. It was transparent, white, and it was round. If I had to make an analogy, I looked like… a mochi. Yep, a mochi with a head, as I didn’t cover my head with the armor. I didn’t want to be drowning in my Slime after all. As for my hands and legs, they were all inside the mochi. Rather than saying it as an armor, I felt like it was a vehicle while I was inside of it…
Even though I had fine control over the Slime’s body, but it was impossible to completely control it to form armor shape all the time. Besides, Smokeless Slime was basically different than Familiar Slime. Smokeless Slime was not a monster, unlike Familiar Slime. It was a smoke that was materialized and I had to control it or it wouldn’t move at all as it didn’t have any instinct.
As for making it a shape of armor… well, could you shape a mochi into a figure of human? Perhaps you could, but I couldn’t for sure. Yeah, the best I could make was the shape of ball…
Alright, there was no need to make me feel sadder by thinking about how uncool it looked like. Safety was the most important thing! Appearance was the second… no, it was the tenth or so!
Since I couldn’t make it cool-looking armor, I should train to use it so I could move fast. Hm, yep, let’s train!
…
Later, that night. I was playing, cough, I meant, training intensely. I jumped to the wall, from wall to the ceiling, and back to the floor. I felt that I was controlling my own body now and my movement was as agile as the Slime that I controlled before. After that, I was concocting potions while wearing the Slime Armor. Since my hands were inside the armor, I used the armor to concoct the potions and the result was… it was easier than using my own hands!
Well, for me, creating tentacles from its body was easy and using numerous tentacles to hold the bottles were easier than using only two hands to hold several bottles. It increased the efficiency of concocting potions, so I finished early. After that, I tried to move around and as expected, it wasn’t tiring at all. I could move for hours without breaking a sweat like this!
“We’re home!” A certain brute opened the door abruptly while I was nearby. The door hit me and I was thrown to the ground and since I wasn’t prepared, the Slime Armor was instantly destroyed…
“…Fey, what are you doing?” The silly Goddess and the others were dumbfounded when they found me on the floor.
“Hm? Nothing.” I said nonchalantly. My mind was thinking that the Smokeless Slime’s body was too weak after all. If I didn’t prepare the landing, it would be destroyed easily. There was no other way other than increasing my level so I could get my own Familiar.
According to my calculation, I should be able to have enough Mana once I reached level 30… naturally, if my Mana growth stayed like this. Every level, I only gained two or three Mana Points after all, unlike a Mage who could get tens MP easily. As for my Health Point… let’s forget it.
“Nothing you said…? You are covered in white, sticky mucus and you said you did nothing? Don’t tell me that you just did something indecent! No, based on your personality, you wouldn’t do that, right? So, you must be forced, right? Who is it? Who forced you?”
“…” I looked at my body and realized… how indecent it really was. The Smokeless Slime was white and sticky… ugh, thinking about it, I was really embarrassed. As for clearing this misunderstanding, it was actually very easy.
“…don’t think too much. I was training when you came.” I said casually as I stood up from the ground. My body was still weak, but standing and walking was not a problem for me.
“What kind of training you do to be in this situation? Don’t lie to me! Don’t protect that man! Who is it? Who mess you up like this?” The silly Goddess grabbed my shoulder and shook them with her ridiculous strength. Seriously, she was annoying.
“…[Smokeless Breath]” I used my Skill, [Smokeless Breath] and materialized it once it was big enough to be my armor. I entered the Slime Armor casually and started moving around.
“This kind of training, but because you slammed me with the door, it was destroyed and I was in that appearance.” I replied calmly. As for the others? Well, they were staring at me with dumbfounded expression in their face.
“What is that?” Everyone synchronizedly asking this question. I turned around and and looked at them proudly.
“This is my Slime Armor.”
Everyone looked at each other face before they huddled up.
“Hey, do you think that we kneaded her cheeks too much that now she thinks that she is a mochi?” Was the question I really didn’t want to hear at the moment… but it came from them.
