Merlin knew what was in store for Cretus when he signed him up for the tournament, even as the Gods prepared for his entrance. To defeat Cretus, the Gods planned to use their most powerful demigods.
The reason for this is that, even if they were successful in bringing Cretus to a certain spot if Cretus wins the competition, he will not only gain the holy wealth that the Gods have placed on the line, but they will also be obligated to let him go according to the tournament's rules.
This implies that the Gods are obligated to win... Merlin was well aware of this, and it was for this reason that he transported him to the Garden of Eden, where a month in the normal world equates to a year in the Garden of Eden.
Merlin understood that it would take more than 11 months for Cretus to gain as much power as possible. This is why Armdal chose to exercise in his resting planet.
Meanwhile, Merlin, Kalista, and Cretus were eating at the dining table when Merlin abruptly began discussing Cretus' training and how powerful he would become.
Merlin: You'll have plenty of time to practice here because, in the outer world, 11 months equals 11 years. Don't worry, the time-lapse will not impact your age; but, it will affect your strength. Your current power level is 59 000, but if my estimates are accurate, you may reach a power level of 600 000.
Kalista: how do you know that his power level is 59 000.
Merlin: well I am a magician, but if you want to see it, I will give you this ring. With this, you will be able to see the power level of every single person you meet if you want to. All you have to do is concentrate on the person.
Kalista: Oh... I do see Cretus' power level now. That is cool... Oh, I want to see Merlin's power level now!
Cretus: I would like to know his power level as well... I am very intrigued by knowing how strong the most powerful mage is.
Kalista: *looks at Merlin astonished with her mouth wide open* His power level is 790 003!
Cretus: Incredible, with your power level, we could easily beat the Gods!
Merlin: *laughs sarcastically* You think I can defeat God! Even the weakest Gods would be a handful for me! Armdal for example, during his prime, his Power level was at 55 million!
Cretus and Kalista looked at Cretus with their mouth wide open and Cretus suddenly broke the silence.

Cretus: So you want me to fight Gods that have a power level of 50 million?
Merlin: That was only for the strongest God who ever lived. His sons barely touch 15 million. However, already having a power level of 1 million is a miracle for a human. The only human who managed to accomplish such a miracle is Perseus.
Cretus: So, if I am going to beat the gods, I have to become a greater hero than ¨Perseus?
Merlin: Indeed, I know it is a challenge but I kn-
Cretus: I don't need any encouragement, I know what I have to do.
At that moment, they knew that Cretus was going to put his soul in the training, so they all went to bed.
Merlin: *throws water in Cretus's bed* Wake up! Your training session starts now. So get dressed and join me in the living room.
Cretus, who was still sleeping, took his time getting dressed, and when he arrived in the living room, Merlin was visibly upset by what he saw Cretus wearing.
Merlin awoke Cretus at 2 a.m. the next day for his first training session.
Merlin: Cretus, I need you to remove your shirt, because today, you won't need it...
Cretus then removed his shirt and they both went out of the palace. Meanwhile, Kalista was still sleeping.
Cretus and Merlin took two unicorns that ran at high speed. In about 30 minutes, they were at their destination, which appeared to be mountains higher than any mountain on earth.
Merlin: This is mount Rita, a mountain that touches the stars.
Merlin snapped his fingers and they suddenly teleported to the top of the mountain.
Cretus: How did you manage to teleport us to the top in such a short amount of time.
Merlin: My magical power is teleportation, so I can teleport you anywhere I have been in a matter of seconds.
Cretus: Well, you got a cool power, but I am freezing, why did you tell me to come shirtless.
Merlin: Your first test, I want you to create a powerful wind with the blow of your attack. This will test your endurance as well as your swing power because if you win the Ragnarok, you will get the sword that was made for your magical power which is sunshine. So if you want to know how to use it, you have to go through this stage.
Cretus who was surprised by the request knew it was impossible, but hey, a few months ago he would have never imagined having the power of the strongest deity that ever existed.

The weapon that was given to him to create a powerful flow on earth was a stick. When Cretus wanted to ask how he would be able to create a powerful blow in space with a stick, Merlin already left and put a little basket under with a note saying "regeneration basket, the food never finishes...* So he had the food, he had the weapon, so all he had to do was start the training no matter how long it takes if Merlin requested him to do it, it means Merlin believes Cretus can do it.
Days went by, months went by and Cretus was only feeding him, and Cretus was getting stronger and stronger. He was making more and more blows and on the seventh month, he made a strong blow that was even felt in the Castle.
When Merlin felt the blow, he knew that Cretus accomplished his mission and Merlin directly teleported to the mountain and when he saw Cretus again, he was shocked at how powerful he got in one training. He now had a power level of 509 000 in one training.
Merlin: How could he get so powerful in a few months?
Merlin started to feel very hot and when he looked on his left, he saw how hot it was and understood that it was exposure to the sun that was increasing his power level considerably. Cretus's power comes from the stars, so at the moment Cretus was exposed to the sun, his power started to increase. However, this only works once because it is the first time Cretus gains direct power from the sun. Now, he has to train the hard way...
Cretus: I did it, old man, *takes his breath back and sits down* now, what will you give me as training now?
Merlin: *smiles excitedly*, you are ready to enter the 279 rooms!
When Merlin and Cretus got back to the castle, Kalista was very happy to see Cretus.
Kalista: *slaps Cretus* Do you know how worried I was? You leave for months without telling me and you reappear just like that!
Cretus: *smiles gently* I sorry for causing you so many problems, but now I am back.
Kalista: *starts crying* You really can be stupid sometimes...
Later, Cretus and Kalista ate together and watched the stars from the top of the castle. Kalista herself started to develop affections for Cretus as well. So both of them had feelings for each other, but none of them dared to make the first step. Meanwhile, Merlin was already preparing everything for Cretus's trip to the 279 rooms.
The next day, Cretus slept for as long as he wanted and when he woke up and got ready, a traveler's bag, a silver sword, and a bottle were waiting for him.
Merlin: I hope you slept well because, for the next 10 years, you won't be sleeping well anymore!
Cretus: What do you mean the next ten years?
Merlin: You will be spending the rest of your training in this series of simulations created by Armdal. You will be going through Armdal's training session. If you are strong enough, in ten years exactly, you will return to us, however, if are not strong enough, you will die without completing the objectives of the 279 rooms.
Cretus: What type of training is this? I mean, I can't die before even getting married!
Merlin: No worries, I believe you will get manage to overcome the doors.
Cretus who knew that he did not have any way of running away from the training accepted and before leaving he said something to Kalista
Cretus: If you do not come back, I would just like you to know that I love you...
Kalista cried after what Cretus said and started praying to the Gods he comes back in peace
Merlin: You are praying the ones we are supposed to destroy.
Kalista: Oh! I'm sorry, it just became a habit.
In the 279 rooms, Cretus went in the first room, where it was to defeat a horde of londals, and the second room was to defeat a group of mages. All the rooms were getting harder, and Cretus was wondering if he could get out on time.
10 years passed and the day had come for Cretus to come back from the 279 rooms. Merlin and Kalista were right In front of the door which leads to the 279 rooms and suddenly, it opened. There was too much light for Kalista to see so she covered her face, however, Merlin's face was so illuminated that it was as if he saw his savior
Merlin: Strength: 509 000, Magical power :119 145, Power ability: 564 794, Spirit: 496 124, POWER LEVEL 1.6 MILLION!!!!!!!! YOU ARE NOW READY, YOU ARE READY FOR THE TOURNAMENT OF RAGNAROK!
