By constantly observing every little detail of your enemy for a period of time
You have gained the ability to see the weaknesses of your enemy.
A higher level of information requires a higher skill level.
Lance blinked a few times, looking at the screen that popped up. I guess this is one of the ways to get stronger in this new world, Lance thought.
He read his new skill closely, but didn't really know what it meant. Lance then looked outside again and saw another Psycho.
"Analyze." Lance said. However when he looked he couldn't really see anything.
Does this thing have no weakness, or is it too much stronger than me for me to see it? It could also be that it is too far away, Lance thought.
Well, he didn't really know what it did, but it probably wasn't useless...hopefully.
Lance then decided that he would figure it out tomorrow, focusing on something he didn't understand was in no way useful right now.
While he was thinking, there was a loud bang and the building started to shake. Sweat dripped down Lance's forehead as he looked outside to see what was going on.
He then saw a troll looking straight at him, the troll had swung his hammer creating a crack along the building. It apparently wanted to destroy it along with Lance.
"Well, so much for not being discovered" Lance said to himself. He knew this building was no longer safe. Once that beast breaks down the wall, then all hell will let loose through this building.
Lance then ran towards the stairs to descend. When he started to go down the stairs, he heard people start screaming. He then went down the stairs even faster while other people were running past him and bumping into him.
"Move, we got to get away!! We got to get away!!" One of them screamed.
Lance could only hope he wasn't too late descending from the stairs. He then reached the bottom, where he saw the wall farthest from him wide open. The troll was laughing and two psychos took notice of what happened.
The psychos started to laugh manically as they started to sprint towards the recreational center. Lance then sprinted straight into the door nearest to him that led to the outside.
When he closed the door, the door was then pierced through by one of the psychos. Lance felt that now was the best time to run away, far away.
He then looked around to see where he should run towards. When he looked around, he saw a couple of police cars moving past the street he was on.
Lance didn't know where they were going, but he felt that wherever there are people with guns, there is either a very bad situation going on there, or it will be a lot safer there.
Lance decided to run in the opposite direction of the police. There was just a higher chance of them going to somewhere dangerous, and Lance had no desire to see if there is anything worse then the situation he was in now. That is a big no no.
As he ran, he noticed that there was not as many spatial tears in space. There were still some, but definitely not as many as before.
Maybe God decided that since humans had no way of killing them, there was no need to increase their numbers. Lance could only hope this was the answer, but it still didn't explain why there are some still there.
Lance then shook his head. No, I need to stop doing that. I need to focus on my senses to increase my chance of survival, Lance thought.

But it was truly hard for Lance to stop analyzing everything. That is what he has been doing ever since he can remember.
When he was young, he always heard his parents talking in the other room. They always said things like why does he have so many questions, or why is he not like the other kids.
Lance's parents always tried to tell him to stop thinking about everything and just have fun, but never could. His thinking, his understanding, his learning of how the world worked was always on his mind.
If someone would ask what Lance's favorite word is, he would say why? both as an answer to their question, as well as asking them why they wanted to know.
This estranged him from his parents a bit. They were always willing to answer his questions, but they never could understand what he was thinking, and that scared them.
Well, his habit ended up giving him a skill. So it wasn't all bad.
Lance found another alleyway and decided to stop to rest. He needed to keep his stamina up at all times. Who knows when he would be in a tight spot where death can swallow him at any point.
Once he fully recovered, Lance decided to come up with a plan. Yes, he could continue doing the same thing for rest of the 24 hours, but then he wouldn't be able to sleep and exhaustion would mean death in this new world.
Hmm, what would be the best course of action, Lance thought. I could find a room with a lock and sleep in there... No, if one of those psychos somehow make it to me, I would be done for.
I can't go to the police station, because it would be filled with way too many people. Also, they really don't have any way of defending them. I don't think guns will work on these things or at least normal guns.
After obtaining his new skill, Lance understood that this situation he is now in is like a game. If there are skills, there is more than likely to be monster drops, and equipment is a very known thing to be dropped by monsters.
Probably if he had the strength to take down one of the mountain trolls, then he could obtain their hammer or mace or maybe something completely different.
The only problem, which is a big problem, is that he does not have the strength or even a weapon to even try to take down one of those monsters.
Lance decided to worry about that later, when he actually had a fighting chance. Lance opened up his backpack to get some water to drink. He needed to stay hydrated and well fed.
After some delightful snacking, Lance proceeded to exit the alleyway and find somewhere safe to hide for a bit.
He looked around to see if he could recognize where he was. He seemed to be close to the small marketplace that was close to campus. He looked around and he couldn't see any trolls or psychos for some reason.
Screeeeaa
Lance then looked up where he saw a couple of Nycors flying above his vicinity. "Shit, I forgot about them", Lance said. He now truly had to be careful, because the Nycors clearly claimed this area as their own territory.
The only reason why he was safe was because of the alley. If not, then he would probably have been noticed and picked off by one of the birds.
"Wow, my thoughts are getting really depressing", Lance said as he sighed. But hey, when one could die at any second, how could anyone stay positive.

Lance then waited a couple more minutes until the Nycors flew off to some place. They must have found some prey. He immediately took this chance to move.
He started to sprint to the marketplace while listening and looking at his surroundings. He would let nothing sneak up on him if possible.
Lance finally entered the marketplace and he was shocked. It was quiet, way too quiet compared to how it was supposed to be.
Lance couldn't see one monster in sight, he couldn't even see any people. There was absolutely nothing going on in this marketplace. Lance started to walk very carefully while looking to see if he could see anybody.
He looked inside some of the buildings, but he couldn't really see anything. The people were probably hiding away from the windows so they were not seen.
Lance then saw movement in the corner of his eye. He quickly turned around to see a young man, probably close to his age. The man looked afraid and paranoid.
"Hey, what is going on with this area? Why is it so quiet here?" Lance asked quietly.
"I don't know", he said. "There were monsters around before. I heard their footsteps as i was hiding in one of the buildings. One of the small ones even came in the same building as I was in. I definitely thought my life was about to end at that point. But all of a sudden, it left."
It left? Lance thought. It would make sense for it to leave after it searched the building. It was definitely smart enough to look in a building, so it was probably smart enough to look more in depth. But why did it leave?
"After it left, I waited to see if it would come back but it never did", the man said. "I then finally decided to find a new hiding spot, because I probably wasn't going to be constantly lucky. But when I left, it was like this."
This is very weird, Lance thought. But whatever is going on, it can not be good. This is like the calm before a storm. If before couldn't be considered a storm, then I don't want to see what a true storm would be like.
As Lance was preparing to leave the area. It happened.
The mother of all cracks appeared at the other end of the marketplace. Lance looked at it in shock and fear. It made all the other portals look insignificant, and all those giant monsters came out of those.
What kind of atrocity will come out now? Also why? Lance thought. They were struggling for hours before and so many people died. Why is this crack appearing now?
Lance then looked around and saw that the guy fell on his butt looking at the crack and he was shaking from fear. Oh, no. Maybe there are too many people hiding in one area, so God decided to up the difficulty a bit, Lance thought.
As Lance was thinking, the crack started to open and a pair of giant hands came out of it, and started to pry the portal open.
A leg then stepped out of the portal, which was followed by a head and then a body. Soon the entire being came out of the crack and the crack just stayed there, as if broken from the sheer strength of the calamity that came out of it.
Myriad The Destroyer lvl ???
Myriad is a Goliath that is taller than any building in the vicinity. He appeared to be very ancient and he was made out of stone. He had the aura of a deity and muscles of a warrior. He wielded what appeared to be a giant spear of some sort with some language circling around it. His face held no expression, but that itself was enough to send fear down a person's spine.
Lance felt an incredible amount of pressure just by being near this divine being. He wanted to run away, but when he turned around he saw that hordes of monsters were coming from the opposite direction.
As he was staring at the horde that was on their way to his location, he heard a loud explosion. He turned to see that Myriad stabbed one of the building with his spear.
The building then ended up crumbling in on itself and probably destroying any inhabitants that it might hold.
Lance truly felt the situation he was in was utterly hopeless. On one side, he had what appeared to be some sort of demigod, while on the other side there were all the monsters that he spent hours escaping from.
Lance then looked around to see if there was anything, absolutely anything, he could do to get himself out of this situation. He looked and looked, but no matter where he would go, he would meet a group of monster which would proceed to tear him inside out.
Lance then looked and saw the giant tear in space that was just behind Myriad.
What are you thinking, Lance. You don't know what would happen if you went in there. You could be transported to another world or just end up dead. But, if I don't, then there is a hundred percent chance that I will die, Lance argued with himself.
....."Fuck it" Lance said with a sigh.
Lance looked at the demigod and saw that the eyes were made out of stone, so there is a chance that he could make it passed him without being noticed.
Better now than ever, Lance thought. He then went and sprinted past the stranger who had passed out in fear.
While hearing the roars behind him, Lance focused all of his attention on just running. Constant running. Use the rest of his energy if he needed to. He just needed to reach that tear.
Myriad continued his destruction of the buildings by slashing straight through rows of them. The demigod didn't notice Lance running towards him, or if he did, he didn't care.
Piece of concrete were falling all around him and he constantly had to dodge and roll just to avoid being crushed.
When Lance rolled, he received more cuts from rocks and broken glass all over his body, but he worked through his pain and kept running. He was getting closer and closer to the tear.
He had just finally passed Myriad and was just a few feet away from the barrier when, all of sudden, a psycho appeared out of the alleyway next to it. The psycho then charged at Lance swiping at him.
Lance couldn't believe it. He was so close and yet here he was about to die. No, this can't be happening. I won't accept it, I must Survive, I MUST SURVIVE!!!!!!! screamed Lance.
He then jumped and dived towards the tear in space as the psycho manage to claw both his chest and back leaving large claw marks. Lance then entered the chaotic space with minor injuries all over his body and two major ones.
Everything got quiet as if all the roaring and destruction before was nothing but a lie. However, it definitely wasn't, because Lance's whole body felt like it was being ripped apart.
The space seemed to contain some sort of energy that was entering all the wounds in his body, causing Lance to feel pain beyond belief.
Maybe because of the pain, or maybe because of his exhaustion, but Lance just constantly kept saying "I will survive. I will survive. I will survive. I will survive."
He kept repeating the same line until he finally passed out from exhaustion and pain.
The energy of the space still kept flowing into Lance even as he slept. His body would spasm at times from pain and go into mini seizures. After hours of constant energy flow, Lance's body stopped it's spasm and now his minor wounds were actually closing up and healing.
The claw marks however were even weirder, as they were no longer open wounds on his body but actually tattoos that were moving on his body into a design.
Lance entire body then begun to shine bright purple and condense around Lance like a cocoon. The cocoon then proceeded to float in that chaotic space for hours on end, never changing in anyway.
Hours upon hours passed by and soon a full two days passed before any changes to the cocoon appeared. On the second day, the cocoon finally proceed to crack and then burst into particles of energy, which then proceeded to flow into Lance's body.
Lance was still sleeping calmly, not noticing the changes his body just went through. He floated for another hour until a tear in space opened up near his body. Lance then proceeded to float into the tear and the tear then vanished just as fast as it appeared.
