《My Lazy Days With A Fallen Angel》[Part 2] Prologue - The Fall

In the beginning of time, there was nothing. The only living being in existence was bored and alone. So he decided to make angels. They lived in Heaven given to them by their father, God himself. As the only beings, they were responsible for themselves and the paradise that was given to them. They lived happily throughout the eons. But one day this had changed for the first time in eternity.

Heaven was a magnificent place. With a realm of infinite possibilities in their hands, they could become and do anything they please. But they did nothing with their lives as they were already satisfied being in God’s presence. There was one individual who went against that idea.

“Is that Lucifer?”

There was shouting inside the gates of Heaven. Golden metallic bars formed a fence that stretched as far as the eye could see. The other side was emptiness. A void that leads to nowhere. Except for a sighting that the crowd came across. There was fog surrounding the gates of Heaven as the crowd peered through the gates. Many were waiting inside for the individual they saw.

In the distance, two shadows appeared. They stayed behind the fog waiting for the right time to move forward.

“Lucifer!”

“We don’t want you at all!”

“Lucifer!”

“Get out of here!”

“Leave us alone!”

“What have you done to us?”

There was hate filling the air. The screams only got louder. Angels who passed by only grew more afraid of the mob that had formed around the gates. The disgust among the crowd only grew stronger. They threw themselves at the gates to keep it closed. Hundreds lined up to form a sea of Angels holding the gate shut as they screamed.

The individual stood outside deep in the fog. Its figure could be seen from the crowd. A hooded person, unseen, was kneeling next to the standing angel.

“Are you sure that you’re doing the right thing?” A hooded angel spoke to the individual. Their wings together were dark grey. There was a dim light coming from their heads. It was as if the light was diminishing. The two hid in the fog waiting for the time to go forward.

“Yes. It is right and just,” The standing angel responded.

“Of course my lord.”

“‘My Lord.” The standing angel laughed. “I’ll never get used to that. Please refrain from calling me that. I’m just like you. Not some god to believe in. Not like Him.”

“B-but we all believe in you. Not Him.”

“But He was the one who created us. And so, He is the one who must free us.”

“You are the one who freed us. All of us. No matter what side they chose. Those who go against you are blind by what you have brought to us.”

“They have a right to go against me. That was the free will I have brought them.”

“Those ungrateful brats. They just don’t understand that what you brought to us was a new age. You will bring us hope!”

“But what I will bring is ruin to the people. No matter how right and just I am. That is a fact.”

The standing angel looked down at the kneeling figure. There was a sad look on their face. Almost a tear fell on their cheeks.

“But my lor-” The kneeling individual paused. “It was a necessary evil for us to continue the right path towards true paradise.”

“Then I must be that evil.”

Before the individual could come out of the fog into view of the crowd, someone had stopped them. It was another angel.

“Lucifer, please. You don’t have to do this.”

“Don’t listen to-” The kneeling hooded individual was interrupted.”

“Stop.” Lucifer stopped the follower. Then Lucifer turned to the pleading angel. “I must Raphael. It is my destiny.”

“Please. He will forgive you. He has nothing against you. So why must you have to go against Him?”

“Because this isn’t right. It isn’t just.”

Raphael walked up closer to Lucifer. She traced her hands along her wings. Her jaws dropped.

“Do you still love me then?”

“Of course I do. You’re my favorite among our siblings. You always listened to me when others would not.”

“Then I should’ve stopped you.” Raphael stared directly at Lucifer. Their eyes locked but Lucifer couldn’t keep it up for long. Raphael was brought a sad face.

Raphael walked over in front of Lucifer.

“Please. You don’t have to do this.”

“But I must.”

“Let someone else do it.”

“It a has to be me.”

“Why couldn’t you just live happily. Why must you suffer for all of us.”

“No one lived happily in Heaven,” The follower added. “Not yet.”

“That’s just it. Why only he must have it?” Lucifer said angrily.

“Because it only torments him.” Raphael started crying.

“And that’s a reason why we must be excluded? Why we must stay as mindless slaves in this perfect world?”

“This world is far from perfect.” The hooded figure said angrily.

“All of us are just his brainwash minions. Just to keep him company. Nothing more. What else do we do? Just sit there and talk amongst each other. Where are our hopes, dreams, and desires? When is it our turn to play? This Heaven was not meant for us. It was meant for him.”

Lucifer pointed towards the gates of Heaven. Raphael stood silent. The dull silence declines as the shouts from the crowd inside the gates grew.

“Move out of the way Raphael.”

“N-no.”

“I said move.”

Raphael was left behind. Powerless to stop Lucifer from doing the right thing. Or at least what Lucifer thought was the right thing.

“Please, Lucy.”

Those were the last words Lucifer had heard before wandering into the view of the crowd. But before Lucifer could enter the gates of Heaven, an angel stood in the way. The angel drew its sword and charged at Lucifer.
