《The Huntress and the Demon》Chapter 12: The feast

When they arrived, the sky already dark red, the chief elder stood waiting for them.
He welcomed them home enthusiastically, and practically pulled them through the gate into the village.
"We're having a feast tonight!" he informed happily. "You all are the guests of honour, so make sure you show up!" A glare was directed at Jyl, who had joined the group a couple minutes earlier. "Especially you! No disappearing acts this time!"
"Of course, our guests are also welcome to attend. Though I would like a couple words with you first, if you don't mind."
While the chief elder led the three demons to town hall, the hunters all hurried home. They had been away for over two months, so they all wanted to be reunited with their loved ones as soon as possible.
The roads were lively. A constant stream of people travelled to and fro, carrying all kinds of articles to prepare for the feast. Long tables were put together, fires were lit, food was prepared. Soon the central square was filled with excited voices and enticing smells.
A group of musicians played their instruments, people gathering around them to dance and sing. Children were allowed up past their bedtime, while their parents searched for friends to converse with. Teenagers decided to test their luck, asking their crush to dance. Hunters bragged about their latest kills. Elders discussed which of their grandchildren was the most talented. Fights were started and broken up.
When the 'guests of honour' arrived, the feast was already good and well underway.
Though, no one was bothered by this. They immediately joined in: singing, dancing, eating, fighting, talking and generally having fun.
The villagers quickly swarmed them, asking for a story. The strangers too were soon immersed in the merrymaking, the differences in their appearance and their initial awkwardness attracting plenty of attention.

"You should have seen their faces when they entered the Forest for the first time!" Alcaeus told the tale to any who wanted to hear.
"Come on, let's go dance." Rina dragged her boyfriend towards the musicians.
"Serving under the emperor are the four lords, each ruling ..." Mirus explained to Aiden, the two sitting in a calmer corner of the square.
"Who's next?" Cecile called to the hunters, ready to test her mettle against them. Evelyn and Solon watched from a couple meters away as Lyall came forward.
He raised his spear and flashed a grin. "I think it's about time I even the score."
Near the head of one of the tables sat Arick and the chief elder, still deep in conversation. The elder, whose name was Daren and who was Aiden and Alcaeus' grandfather, was very interested in the state of the world outside the Forest. Most of all, he was worried his people would get caught up in the war, like the seven who had been taken.
"At the time, most of our more experienced hunters were away, dealing with a wandering Crimson Tiger. To this day, I don't know whether I should count us lucky or unlucky for that coincidence. It meant we didn't have enough manpower to fight back, but at the same time, I am unsure whether, unprepared as we were, fighting back would have ended well. More might have been taken, or killed.
In the end, the soldiers were in a hurry, so they took the capable hunters remaining in the village and left. I still regret not being able to do anything then."
Arick listened in silence as elder Daren recalled what happened that day. This man had been forced to watch as his village's young adults were taking, unable to do anything. Among them were his own grandsons!
It made him all the more determined to fulfil his end of the deal.

The Merchant Prince Book 1: Returning Home
Enter a world of deceit and assassins. Augustus DeCastellian is a member of a wealthy merchant family, with ports all over the known world. He is sent on a voyage to new lands to open trade routes, but when he returns he will need to fight, using his tools of manipulation and cunning, for what he is owed.Author's note: This story is somewhat slow-paced, especially in comparison to the norm on Royal Road. The first three chapters act almost as a prologue, to give you a feel for what the rest of the story will be like. So, I suggest new readers try to get to the end of chapter 3 before deciding if this story is for them.A few of my reviews have said that this story is abnormal for Royal Road. I agree with that sentiment, at least based on what I've read on the site. It was just an idea that was in my head, that I began trying to write once my hobbies were cancelled due to the virus. I found Royal Road after I started writing it. Honestly, it's probably not even tailored for the web-novel format. But it's the story I wanted to tell. Discord: https://discord.gg/sk63gep

Join Grey make his glorious way in Chronosseum, and uncover its truth! Also, he needs to answer that question too! Note: The story heavily relies on the characters' thought processes, characters' interactions with its dramas, mystery, and back-stories aspects, so expect the slice of life thingy. As for now, I can't say this is an action-packed story, but slowly, it will be for sure. Also, I'm planning not too heavily focused on the MC, as you'll see the story told from various perspectives. Tags and content warnings are checked for the sake of my creativity in the future, it might or might not be included. This is my first novel, and also, English is not my native language, I beg your mercy. But I am open to any feedback and constructive criticism, so let's make the story more enjoyable to read! Chronosseum is scheduled to release one chapter every three days (for now).

World Labyrinth
Meet our hero: an average young man with an average life, who ended up dying while working an average job. However, he's a given a chance to see another world at the final crossroads of his old life. The catch... well... he knows there's one. There always is. But, hey, when you're about to die, you take whatever opportunity's provided to you. This is the young man's story in the new world as he learns he can't afford to be average anymore. AUTHOR'S NOTE: I've decided to put this note up due to some comments and ratings left for this ORIGINAL FICTION complaining its boring. This story starts slow and it takes time for things to pick up. Also the MC doesn't start off as superman or become superman magically in two chapters. He also is AVERAGE... so it takes time to build up his character. Starting chapter 14 or so things pick up, but this isn't a pure hack and slash and skills level up story like most of the FF on this site. Just giving you a warning, so you don't end up disappointed and end up having to post large paragraphs complaining about the story... I also post on average every TWO OR THREE DAYS, so you'll get more to read.
