《Wait… Why is this a Skill? [Dropped]》Vol 2. Chapter 6

“What do you mean ‘Unable to give information’ appraisal!?”
(Insufficient information supplied to memory)
Insufficient information… Ah, does it mean that I didn’t see where they were headed?
(Correct)
Damn!!! This is bad! If this keeps up, I won’t be able to find them. Wait, my [Dota 2 Skill Set] has a map function at level 2 right? If I can just level this up, I could find them, but how?
(Hero set number of changes: 5)
(Hero set number of changes left before next level: 1)
That’s it! If I change into another hero skill set, I can level this skill up and acquire the map function! But if I change now, I will lose my current appearance. I might lose the tail, and they might regard me as a human or shape-shifting demon.
“What should I do… Maybe this will work…”
I thought of an idea that may allow me to choose a hero skill set while keeping the appearance. This is a 50/50 gamble, and if it works, then I will be able to rescue them.
“Please work!”
Hero skill set changed from [Dragon Knight] to [Dragon Knight]
[Dragon Knight]
[Breathe Fire] – Breathes fire dealing fire damage to anything in front of you. [Dragon Tail] – Uses your tail to hit a target with the force of a dragon, stunning it for a period of time. [Dragon Blood] – Dragon blood flows through your veins, causing you to have increased defense and HP regeneration. (Passive) [Elder Dragon Form] – Turns your body into that of a fearsome dragon, gaining all characteristics of an elder dragon. Can be toggled back to turn back to your original form.
[Dota 2 Skill Set 1] leveled up to [Dota 2 Skill Set 2]
[Dota 2 Skill Set] Map Function Acquired
“Yosha!!! Now, let’s see if I can see their positions.”
The method to display the map entered my brain when the skill leveled up.
“[Map Display]!”
A semi-transparent map appeared before my eyes. It looked like a 3d hologram displaying the surrounding area. The forest, mountains, plains, and the road was replicated without any mistakes like the real thing. There were a blue dot, green dots, white dots, and red dots on the map. The blue dot must be me, green dots for my allies, white dots for neutrals, and red dots for the enemies.
The area where the green dots and the blue dot were displayed was visible to me. Of course, like the map in Dota 2, there was fog where there weren’t any friendly units.

I could only see the landscape, the area where my allies are, at least, those friendly to me, and the area around me in the map. Anything else was shaded a bit darker and didn’t reveal any dots inside.
“Finally, I found where they are… I’m coming!!”
I dashed at the direction where the girls were held. Strangely, there were only three green dots. How about the person inside the carriage? Does this only apply to those I have interacted with?
I cut down the branches that were in my way towards the three girls. The green dots were unmoving inside a cave. Since they could only see the room where they were held in, I couldn’t locate where the enemies are. Since there were more ninjas than the ones I killed and knocked out back there. That reminds me, I didn’t give the finishing blow to two of them right?
Ahh who cares!!! The important matter right now is to rescue those girls! I picked up my pace to increase the speed, even if just a little. A little time later, I arrived t what seems to be a cave. There were two burly men standing near the entrance. Both of them were wearing less than standard equipment, the type what third-rate bandits would wear.
“What does this mean? Weren’t the attackers dressed in ninja outfits? This is strange…”
I lowered my pace to that of a snail and crept, as quietly as possible to avoid being noticed. Upon reaching about five meters from them, I picked up a stone that could crack your skull when thrown.
I readied myself to assault them sneakily to avoid attention and raising the alarm inside the cave.
“1… 2… 3…”
I counted quietly and when I reached three, I threw the stone to the farthest bandit, caving his head in, instantly killing him.
“[Dragon Tail]!”
While the other bandit was surprised to see the person’s head next to him getting blown off, I used my tail to crush his head, along with his vocals to avoid him making a scream.
His head was separated from his body quietly. At least, it was almost impossible to hear it inside the cave. I hid their bodies behind the rocks to avoid being spotted by other bandits. For your information, I am not Ag**t 4*.
I picked up the better sword from the two dropped by the two bandits. After that, I slowly entered the cave and checked the map once more.
The three girls were situated in the farthest room from the entrance, presumably, the treasury room. There were 3 rooms, excluding the room where the three were held. The first one was can be reached by taking a left after heading straight and reaching a branching path. The second one is to the right of that path, and the third one is just after the second room.

The room where the three were held was just after the third room. The first room was smaller compared to the second room and third room, but is larger than the last room. The third room was the biggest as it can hold about 4 sixteen-wheelers side by side.
After checking the layout of the cave, I slowly advanced on the path, careful of setting off traps, and checking for patrols. I don’t want to raise the alarm and risk the three girls to be killed.
After walking for a while, I reached the branching path and headed to the right, a little while after that, I reached the second room where about 16 bandits were snoozing. I could just kill them all off here, but I might risk making noise when killing them, so I refrained, and quietly passed through them.
After moving past those sleeping bandits, I reached the third room, and inside was… It was too horrifying a sight to explain, women elves here and there in their birthday suits, with white stuff all over their body, and several bandits playing with them. Taking a look at the women’s faces, they had a look of despair and some of them had eyes that held no light. Some of them might be already dead.
“Damn… This is just…”
This is just too much. I promise, after saving the three adventurers, we will save you.
Now, I had to figure out a way to get past here, luckily, there was a hidden path going to the last room shown on the map. I moved towards the entrance of the hidden path. It was a rock wall, but it was hollow. If I used [Dragon Tail], I could break this down easily, but I risk making too much noise.
I held out my hand and put it on the surface. When my hand touched a certain part of the wall, I felt like it could be pushed, so I pushed it. The wall then separated into two and revealed a dark passageway. At least, it wasn’t noisy.
I advanced through the dark passage and reached another wall. Doing the same thing as earlier, the wall separated and revealed a room. There was a naked, giant, fat ugly pig on top of a luxurious bed, with several elf women surrounding him. That fat ugly pig, was a human. What are humans doing here in the demihuman continent, well not that I can complain.
I spotted the three girls, fully naked and was about to be violated by that pig. Luckily, he didn’t notice me, so I crept in closer. The looks on the elven women held a face of despair and unwillingness, fueling my rage more. This damn pig…
I unsheathed my sword and swung down at the defenseless head of the pig severing his head from his body with one fell swoop. But at the moment, the pig raised a cry of pain, notifying the guards outside.
The wooden door burst open and two bandits appeared.
“What the fuck you doin’… B-Boss!!?”
“Oi! Shit bastard!! Kill ‘em!!!”
The two shouted in a way where the other bandits could hear. Sounds of footsteps rumbling through the cave can be heard clearly.
“Shit! Kiera! Liana! Phana! Take care of the women!!”
“!? Kouta-san!?”
“Hurry!! There’s no time!!”
The two bandits came charging at me, while swinging at the defenseless elven women.
“Shit!! Get away from them!!”
I couldn’t just sit and watch as a girl dies in front of me, so I hurriedly intercepted the sword’s path and parried it with my sword. The other bandit tried to flank me, but using my tail, I shattered his weapon to pieces.
“!? Bastard!! Guahhh!!!”
I slashed at him with my sword while I had the chance when he was weaponless.
“You bastard!!!”
The other bandit went into a rage and slashed at me consecutive times. Of course, all of them were parried because he lost his composure, and it was easy to read the trajectories of the sword. Once an opening presented itself, I pierced my sword through his body and heart, causing him to fall down to the floor.
“Guu… Haaaa…”
The bandit breathed his last as I pulled out my sword from his corpse.
“Kiera! Liana! Phana! Qucikly! Through that passage!”
“Roger!!”
“Un!!”
“Y-yes!!”
Bandits flooded the path where this room connects to the third room. Man, this is going to be a hassle, but I will protect them!!

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.

Re-Ordaining of the Chosen
Alea cheerfully hummed as she descended the steps, brimming in upbeat while her colleague, Quarren Leos, shot her a look of skepticism. “So… were you right about him?” he asked doubtfully. She came to a stop for a moment, her humming falling silent before she shook her head, waving her medium length light-blonde hair from side to side. “I was wrong about him.” Quarren raised an eyebrow in confusion at the convoluted response.“But you seem quite happy?” he asked again. “Because I am. But I was wrong about him. He was… so much more than I ever expected.” Alea looked at the sky overhead with a smile. “That boy… no, that man, is amazing. I firmly believe he will come to stand on top of any adversary he faces. He is destined. He is Chosen.” Quarren snorted as he stepped past, shaking his head. “Okay. Each to their own beliefs but you’re sounding like a nutjob. That skinny twig? Everyone calls him a cripple, you know,” he shook his head.“Rumours are always false, Leos,” Alea answered with a disapproving shake of her head. “You wouldn’t know. He is so, so much more.” “I saw him with my own two eyes. I didn’t see anything redeeming,” Quarren rebutted. “Well…” Alea chuckled. “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen.” In the year 917 of the Imperial Calendar, the Great War had just ended between dozens of nations. Farrien welcomed home millions of troops and warriors with the Archdukes of Aerianne and Kanaria leading them at the forefront. Since the founding of Farrien, the Aerianne and Kanarian Archduchies have been pillars upholding the Kingdom from enemies. It was common belief that they possessed special blood blessed by the Goddess Stecia, who gifted the lineage to the first King of Farrien when he first founded the country. All were ecstatic when the current generation of the two Archduchy's, after the war, agreed to let their children wed. The excitement was short-lived however when the Aerianne Princess proved to be a dragoness among men but the Kanarian Prince was worse than even mediocre. The Prince disappeared and the wedding was shortly forgotten as society lived on. Until one day the Young Heir of Kanaria returned to Farrien a changed man, bringing demise with him. Follow the story of the Chosen ordained by the Goddess of Time as he returns to the past to right his wrongs and set things back straight again!
