“Lady Katya are you ready to depart?”(Kaoru)

“I am Kaoru.”(Katya)

Walking over to the coat rack I take my lady’s coat from it and hold it up so that she can put it on. Once she has it on I walk around her so that I can do up the buttons of the coat.

“Thank you, Kaoru”(Katya)

“Just doing my job my lady.”(Kaoru)

“I keep telling you Kaoru just call me by my name.”(Katya)

“I can’t do that my lady. I am a professional and your personnel maid.”(Kaoru)

“What about in private?”(Katya)

“sorry my lady but I must remain professional at all times.”(Kaoru)

“Fine.”(Katya)

“Now my lady you should be leaving for college.”(Kaoru)

I leave lady Katya and walk over to the front door and pull it open standing to the side. Lady Katya then leaves through the door with me following behind down the front steps of her family mansion.

In front of the mansion waiting is a black Rolls Royce with a chauffeur waiting beside it. Walking down to it the chauffeur opens the door and lady Katya gets and I follow behind. Once we are in the chauffeur starts driving us to lady Katya’s school. Despite her family being one of the richest in the country she refused to go to a public school and instead goes to a private college.

Once we arrive at lady Katya’s school I step out and hold the door open for my lady. Following behind her we walk to the entrance where her friends are waiting waving over to us.

“Katya over here”(Friend 1)

“Hello Katya.”(Friend 2)

“Hello Katya and Kaoru”(Friend 3)

My lady waves back

“Hello everyone.”(Katya)

I greet them with a bow.

“Greetings everyone.”(Kaoru)

“You don’t have to be so formal all the time Kaoru, especially around us.”(Friend 2)

“I have tried telling her many times Rose but she refuses to relax around me”(Katya)

“I apologies my lady and miss Rose but as a maid, I must be professional at all times and that includes being formal.”(Kaoru)

“I understand but I think it would be more fun if you relaxed a bit.”(Rose)

“My job is not to have fun. It is to serve my lady in any matters that she requires.”(Kaoru)

At that moment the bell rings signs signalling the start of lessons. Lady Katya and her friends leave to go to the lesson and once again I follow behind. Once we arrive at the classroom, I take my lady’s equipment needed for the lesson and arrange it on her desk.

“I will be taking my leave now my lady. I will return once the lesson has ended.”(Kaoru)

With that, I take my leave. Outside the classroom is one of the teachers that I have come acquainted with during my time here. Her name is Henriette and she teaches history.

“Hello Kaoru.”(Henriette)

“Greetings miss Henriette.”(Kaoru)

“I was just going to my office to do some work would you like to come with me? You don’t have anything to do while Katya’s in lesson do you.”(Henriette)

“I do not have anything to do while waiting. I will take kindly accept your offer.”(Kaoru)

“Great follow me.”(Henriette)

After following her for a few minutes we arrive at her office. It is a small room with a single desk and chair with a few chairs for visitors. Around the room are cabinets and shelves full of work and teaching material. In the corners is a small sink with a kettle.

“Make yourself at home I will make us some tea.”(Henriette)

“No need I will make tea for the two of us.”(Kaoru)

“You are my guest I cant have you making me tea.”(Henriette)

Before she can start making the tea I move in the way.

“I insist it is my job and purpose in life to serve and protect.”(Kaoru)

“What do you mean? Is all you serve people.”(Henriette)

“That is indeed what I spend my time doing. Is something wrong with that?”(Kaoru)

“Don’t you spend any time for you self? To do something you enjoy? To have fun?”(Henriette)

“I enjoy serving people it is also the only thing that I am good at. All I can do to be useful to be people and society is to work as a maid and serve.”(Kaoru)

Henriette doesn’t reply but instead surprises me with a hug.

“Kaoru you can do more than that you don’t have to give up all your time or any energy being useful. Just being yourself is all you need to do. I can tell that you put on an act a lot of the time just be yourself.”(Henriette)

“But I don’t know anything else. Being a maid is all that I know. How do I be myself? What even is myself? And if I’m not useful to people won't they discard me for someone better?”(Kaoru)

Tears start to form in my eyes. How can I be myself? Can I even be different to how I am? A professional and extremely formal maid.

RRRRRRRIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGG

It’s the end of the lesson already. Pushing Henriette away I wipe the tears from my eyes and recompose myself as the upright maid I usually am and return to my lady’s classroom.

“Hello Kaoru.”(Katya)

“Greetings my lady I hope you had a good lesson.”(Kaoru)

“I did we learnt about different types o… wait have you been crying Kaoru?”(Katya)

“I have not my lady you must be mistaken.”(Kaoru)

“But your eyes are red. Why have you been crying who upset you? If anyone has harmed you I will make sure that they never see the light of day again>”(Katya)

“I assure you my lady that I have not been crying.”(Kaoru)

“You deny it now but I will find out why and who did it.”(Katya)

My lady then turned and left for her next lesson.

After that, the rest of the day when by as normal and it is now time to leave. I follow my lady out of the school, with her friends.

“Kaoru we will all be going to get ice cream do you want to come with us?”(Katya)

“It is my duty to follow you and serve you. I will follow you wherever you go.”(Kaoru)

“Let's go then.”(Katya)

We then leave the college and walk down the road to the town. Lady Katya and her friends are walking in front of me while talking. We are about to enter the ice cream shop when a suspicious person walked past us.

As the person walks past us I see that they are taking something out of their pocket. They try to hide it but I can see through the fabric that it is a dagger. Before they can do anything I take two of my own daggers from my uniform and run at the target.

“MY LADY GET BACK.”(Kaoru)

“What’s happening Kaoru?”(Katya)

I didn’t answer and tackled the target to the ground pulling their hand out of their pocket and disarming them. They try fighting back but I am able to hold them down and put my dagger to their throat.

“Who are you?”(Kaoru)

The target replies nervously.

“I’m just here for ice cream.”(?)

“You lie why do you have a dagger on you? If you don’t answer I will eliminate you and search your corpse myself.”(Kaoru)

“The dagger is for self-defence. I told you I’m here for ice cream.”(?)

“You lie I can tell.”(Kaoru)

I am about to eliminate them when my lady tries to intervene.

“KAORU STOP! They didn’t do anything.”(Katya)

“They planned to kill you. Your safety is my top priority.”(Kaoru)

“But there isn’t any evidence and can't we leave that to the police anyway. I also don’t want you to become a killer.”(Katya)

Without looking back I coldly reply.

“I’m already a killer.”(Kaoru)

With one quick and practised motion I cut open my target's throat. watching the blood run out. Once I am sure they are no longer breathing I stand up and look back at my lady who has fainted along with two of her friends. The last of her friends miss Rose is making sure that they are alright.

“Kaoru who are you?”(Rose)

“That is not something I can disclose.”(Kaoru)

“I understand. I have an idea of where you are from any way I just wanted to make sure. Kaoru make sure to look after Katya I might not be able to for much longer.”(Rose)

“I will always protect my lady. But aren’t you her best friend why won’t you be able to?”(Kaoru)

“Like you answered my question that is not something I can disclose. Also in the very near future yours and Katya’s lives along with her friends are going to change drastically.”(Rose)

“What do you mean?”(Kaoru)

“All that I can tell you is to be aware of large vehicles.”(Rose)

Before I could inquire more, she stood up and left disappearing Into the crowd before I could stop her. Wait, crowd. Were there this many people before? And if there was why didn’t they help?

Before I can think about this too much longer my lady and her friends start to gain consciousness.

“What happened?”(Katya)

My lady looked around and then her eyes met mine and they opened wide in fear.

“My lady are yo-“(Kaoru)

Before I can finish my lady interrupts me.

“STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU MURDERER.”(Katya)

She and her friends rush to their feet and run from me. I start chasing them but it is difficult to follow them in the crowd.

I chase them for about twenty minutes until I see that they are about to reach a road. They don’t stop running and go straight into the road. Noticing a car coming I jump to push them out of the way of the incoming car. However, I am thrown back with broken bones and bleeding as I am hit by the car.

I lay there for what feels like forever as I bleed to death. At least my lady is alive and well. I manage to look to where my lady and her friends are and to my horror I see them getting up off the road dazed and seconds later a bus came around the corner at a high speed and hit them.

I try to go and help them but before I can the world goes dark.

Where am I? I thought I died along with my lady and her friends? Looking up What I see is not what I expected. In front of me sitting on a throne is a gold eyed purpled haired girl.
