We walk down the red carpet towards the king. The king looks young too young if you ask anyone who doesn’t know his age you would say that he is sixteen but he has to be older than that doesn’t he? On his head, he has black panther-like ears and a black panther-like tail. He is wearing a purple cloak with gold embroidery with brown, white and blue trousers. The boots he is wearing are black with silver stitching.

We get to about three metres in front of the raised platform with the throne. Katya bows following her example I give a curtsy. Why did I go for a curtsy and not a bow? When this happens everyone in the room starts whispering to each other. Katya and I look around in confusion.

“You probably don’t know as you are not from this world. It is extremely rare to even see a kitsune or sylph let alone one bowing to anyone and here we have a kitsune and a sylph both bowing.”(King)

“Why is that your majesty?”(Katya)

“Both kitsune and sylph are divine beings the only ones they bow down to are the primordial goddesses themselves. You also don’t have to refer to me by my title just call me Vincent. My full name is Vincent Echerelli.”(Vincent)

“My name is Kapustova Ekaterina Aleksandrovna but you can call me Katya.”(Katya)

“My name is Nakashima Kaoru but you can just call me Kaoru.”(Kaoru)

“Greetings Heroine Katya and heroine Kaoru. Welcome to the theocracy of Xeshen.”(Vincent)

“Interesting there are not many theocracies in our world. What is your religion here?”(Katya)

“We follow the four primordial goddesses. Our religion is simply known as the four goddess religion. It’s a simple name to translate between vastly different languages.”(Vincent)

When he mentions the goddesses I tense up this does not go unnoticed by Vincent.

“Are you alright heroine Kaoru?”(Vincent)

“Kaoru has not had the best experience with the goddesses so far. When we were summoned we met goddess Ziella but Kaoru might have insulted her sisters and is now my maid.”(Katya)

When Katya mentioned we met goddess Ziella many of the people in the room mostly the priests fell to their knees mumbling something about being in the presence of ones touched by the divine. Unlike the priests, the king just sighs.

“You did the one thing that makes goddess Ziella angry. What were you thinking insulting the primordial goddesses who can erase anyone they wish from existence?”(Vincent)

“I couldn't think right at the time. I had just been forced from my world to help you. I was panicking. However goddess Ziella likes my mistress so I believe she gave me a lighter punishment.”(Kaoru)

“Mistress?”(Vincent)

“That would be me. Part of her punishment is that he know she is my maid.”(Katya)

“So that’s what the guards were talking about.”(Vincent)

We then spent the next twenty minutes explaining everything to Vincent.

“Well at least she hasn’t been abusing her position at least not yet.”(Vincent)

“Mistress hasn’t in any way abused her power in any way.”(Kaoru)

As I say this Katya smiles at me and I smile back.

“In our previous world mistress and I were childhood friends.”(Kaoru)

“That’s good then. Now shall we get to why we summoned you.”(Vincent)

“Ah yes I forgot about that.”(Katya)

“Mistress how can you forget the entire reason we are here?”(Kaoru)

“I was too focused on learning about this world and explaining our situation.”(Katya)

“We summoned you here to deal with a great threat. In our nation, a level two hundred and sixty bakaneko has appeared. It usually takes on the form of a large cat but can shapeshift and often takes on other forms to hide within civilisation.”(Vincent)

“Is it like the ones in Japanese folklore?”(Kaoru)

“I have no idea but to me, it just sounds like a large cat.”(Katya)

“Mistress bakaneko’s are more than just cats. The ones in Japanese folklore often bring curses and misfortune they can also summon balls of fire.”(Kaoru)

“So not just a big cat then.”(Katya)

“No they are very dangerous especially when they get to such a high level. We had to summon you because we can’t fight it ourselves.”(Vincent)

“Why can’t you fight it yourself.”(Katya)

“It might have been different in your world but in this world, it is almost impossible for most mortals to get past level two hundred. The only way to get past level two hundred is to get a special blessing from one of the primordial goddesses. However, it is very rare to meet one of them.”(Vincent)

“How can we help you then?”(Kaoru)

“The only exceptions to this rule are some monster and the divine races. Every hero who has been summoned so far has been one of the divine races. You can get past level two hundred.”(Vincent)

“We need to find the primordial goddesses anyway so we can stop an angry kitty on the way.”(Katya)

Vincent gives us a large smile.

“Wonderful. Now what level are both of you.”(Vincent)

“We are both level one main and subclass.”(Katya)

Vincents smile drops.

“How is this possible every other summoned hero has started at least at level eighty.”(Vincent)

“It might be because we didn’t have levels or a system in our world.”(Kaoru)

“What, how is this possible you cant kill the bakaneko at level one.”(Vincent)

“I wouldn’t be surprised if goddess Ziella did it because she thought it would be fun. If it helps we both know how to fight all we have to do is level up.”(Kaoru)

“That’s great news. Royal armourer go and get them the best weapons we have in the castle. Guard captain, when they have their weapons, take them to the guild and sign them up.”(Vincent)

A man who I assume is the royal armour runs through a side door and another man in armour salutes in response.

An hour later we have now got our armour and we are heading towards the guild. I was given special combat maid armour. Combat maid is an actual type of maid here they are also one of the most highly trained maids. IN the maid hierarchy they are near the top. I have plate armour that covers my chest and back with armour covering my arms and shoulders. On the dress part of my clothing, there are metal plates that have been sewn onto the fabric they are individual strips that go all the way around that have a gap between them to not restrict movement. I also had armour added to my boots. My weapons are two daggers. They didn’t have a katana and daggers are most likely the best that go with my assassin class.

Katya has plate armour as I have but hers covers more of her body it is an almost full set a few parts are missing for increased manoeuvrability. . She also has a helmet with holes for her ears that honestly looks very cute. Her weapons are two naginata and four tessen.

We are now following the guard captain out of the castle towards the town.

“Guard captain what is your name?”(Kaoru)

“My name is Napoleon Bonapar,”(Napoleon)

Both Katya and I just stare at him.

“Mistress wasn't there a famous French leader with a very similar name,”(Kaoru)

“There was. It has to be a coincidence doesn’t it. Unless one of the goddess came up with the name.”(Katya)

“We don’t have to worry about him taking over the country do we.”(Kaoru)

“I hope not. For now let's focus on this new world.”(Katya)

Leaving through the gates of the castle grounds we enter what is probably an area for nobles. All of the houses are large manor houses with large gardens. We walk past all the house towards another gate. Next to the gate is two guards when we approach they open the gate for us. Going through the gate we enter what I assume is the area for the commoners.

As we continue walking through the city I see all sorts of races. There humans, beastkin, centaurs and many other races all live together peacefully. The architecture looks like Tudor period England.

We eventually reach the guild it is a large three-floor Tudor style building. Inside is a bar-style room with circular tables. At the back are a bar and reception desk. Napoleon walks up to the reception desk and talks to the receptionist a woman with cat ears. Once he has spoken to her she addresses us.

“Lady Kaoru and Lady Katy correct nya.”(Receptionist)

Did she just say nya?

“That is correct.”(Katya)

“Both of you would normally take a test to see what rank you could get nya. However due to your circumstances you will start at copper rank stage one nya. Do you know how the ranks work nya?”(receptionist)

She is saying nya at the end of her sentences.

“We don’t.”(Kaoru)

“The system works by rank the order goes from lowest to highest unranked, copper, bronze, iron, silver, gold, white, green, blue and purple nya. To increase in rank you have to complete a required number of quests at a certain level nya. This will be recorded on your cards nya. Every time you reach a milestone in how many quests you will get a mark on your card this will tell someone how close to the next rank you are nya.”(Receptionist)

“So we start at the lowest rank and we’re supposed to be hero’s.”(Katya)

“You are both level one nya.”(Receptionist)

“She is right mistress it will be safer.”(Kaoru)

“We will also put you with an iron ranked party to help you get started nya.”(Receptionist)

So we will be at a party with people we don’t know I hope they are all nice people.

Now to summarise what has happened to me in the last few hours I have been kidnapped from my world. insulted four goddesses, forcefully changed gender, became my childhood friends maid, met the king of a country in another world and now I have become an adventurer.
