Author's Note:
Hey, sorry for the lack of updates... I have had writer's block! I have also chosen to stop updating on weekends... oh and in advance I'm truly sorry for my lack of good naming sense when it comes to last names...

Silver Sword Sect
[Maria] “Luna! Luna... wake up! You asked me to show you around today…”
[Me] “Ugh… so tired… sleep. is. necessary.”
Maria lifted up an old wooden bucket, and it was then that I felt a deep sense of regret. I suddenly sat up and shivered.
[Me] “W-why w-would y-you d-do th-that…?”
[Maria] “I’m so sorry!”
She bends down and starts apologizing faster than one could blink.
[Maria] “It’s just that you told me to dump ice water on you if you wouldn’t get up…”
She trailed off at the end and handed me a towel. I sigh as I remember my words as another wave of regret washes over me. While it was true that I told her to pour ice water on me I was not expecting to be so worn out after the ‘hunt’ last night.
[Me] “Ugh… I guess that’s true… sorry so being stubborn.”
I head out of the room and go to our bath. When I walk in there is one other girl in there. She is normal weight, brown hair, and chestnut colored eyes. Her ears seem to be slanted, indicating that she is an elf.
[Elf] “Oh! Hello, I heard from Maria that she had gotten a new room-mate, are you her?”
[Me] “Ah… yes, my names Luna, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
I clasp my hands in greeting and head into the water.
[Elf] “You are too kind! I’m Abigal… you may call me Abby.”
[Me] “So Abby, what’s your current mana base level?”
[Abby] “Its currently 3rd tier. And you?”
[Me] “Tier 5.”
I smile, and say the lie as easy as if I were speaking the truth. In truth I was tier 7, however just being 8 and 5th tier is shocking… not to mention being 5 and being at 7th tier. This was yet another secret meant for just myself.
[Me] “Oh yeah… what’s the name of the forest to the west of the school?”
[Abby] “Hmm… you must be talking about Red Horn Forest”
[Me] “Red Horn Forest? Why is it called that?”

[Abby] “Supposedly it’s because all the beasts there have red horns that make them stronger.”
[Me] “Still…”
That is a very ‘interesting’ choice of name… though I should have been able to infer why it was called that. It was very interesting that the horns make the beasts stronger… perhaps I should have taken the horns and not have sold them. I am very interested in if it was possible to absorb them…
[Abby] “Luna?”
[Me] “Huh? Oh, umm… sorry about that.”
[Abby] “Zoning out? Oh yeah… you don’t look like a ten year old… how old are you?”
[Me] “I’m 8. You?”
[Abby] “Oh my! It seems like Elder Choro did it again…”
Hmm? Another person brought up Elder Choro… is he that famous?! Abby, mistaking my silence as waiting for her answer for my question, spoke up again.
[Abby] “Forgive that behavior; I should have known that it was Elder Choro. I am 12 years of age as of this year.”
[Me] “So you have been here for two years?”
[Abby] “Not exactly… I actually came here when I was 11.”
[Me] “Oh…”
[Random Voice] “HEY!!! Just what are you doing to my sister! You get away from her you imbecile!”
Right when we heard that voice Abby lets out a groan. Then, as if in response, a little elven body jumps over one of the rock walls and lands between Abby and I. It only takes a second for my eyes to notice something… and that something is the fact that the little elven body is not one belonging to a female…
[Boy] “You! Get away from her!”
[Abby] “Tyler, stop it! She’s my friend… and besides don’t jump in the water with your clothes on!”
REALLY?! That’s what you put emphasis on?! Besides… I’m incredibly glad that he had clothes on… this is the FEMALE'S side. Quickly covering my body with a towel I wait for an explanation.
[Tyler] “NO! All elven are evil because they hurt my sister!”
[Abby] “Tyler, we are both elven as well…”
[Tyler] “That doesn’t count! You are my sister, and I am your bodyguard!”
[Abby] “Tyler…”
[Me] “Excuse me, but I don’t exactly understand this situation right now.”
Abby and Tyler seem to be dragged out of their own world, and turned as if just taking notice of me. COME ON! I was just talking to you, Abby, and the argument just started because I was talking to you!

[Abby] “Oh… sorry… um well it’s a long story… do you have time?”
[Me] “Yes, however it would be best to move to a more… hmm… appropriate location.”
[Abby] “Ahh, yes, your right!”
Abby and I get dressed after her brother leaves ahead of us. As soon as I am ready I go with Abby to her house. Her house seems to be just for her and her brother… speaking of which her brother is DEFINITELY not 10.
[Me] “Your brother…”
[Abby] “I know… Let me explain our situation first. When I was young I was constantly teased due to the color of my hair. Never before has it been recorded that there has been a holy elf with dark brown hair. Of course, I really didn’t mind the teasing, however it got worse once the war started. People started to speculate that I was part Blood Elf because my hair is really close to the black of the Blood Elves. Due to that misunderstanding even the adults started to treat me harshly until I was basically acknowledged as a Blood Elf myself. One day it got too rough, and just in the nick of time Elder Choro saved me. He also took in my 5 year old brother. There was quite a fuss when my brother appeared, but Elder Choro calmed down the other elders by saying that my brother was not part of the sect, just staying with me. Now it seems like my brother no longer trusts the elven race.”
Wow… that’s a history darker than mine. Although… doesn’t that make her brother the same age as me?
[Tyler] “All elven are evil, especially those no-good Blood Elves! It is because of them that my sister was treated horribly! Its mph-“
Tylers speech was interrupted by his sister placing her hand over his mouth. Abby shot me an apologetic look, and sat down.
Sensing the blood lust radiating off of Tyler, I gulped. It seems like things just got a tad bit more dangerous for a certain Blood Elf in this room…
[Abby] “A-any way why don’t we all just begin our mana training? Luna… would you like to join us?”
[Me] “No thank you, I tend to lose my concentration when cultivating around others.”
That was a bold-faced lie of course. In fact, lying has gotten way too easy recently… first my age, then my tier, now this… sigh. I wouldn’t lie about this unless necessary, but if I were to cultivate in this room with Abby and Tyler then there would be no more mana for them… so seriously. I absorb 85% of the surrounding mana, while even top-ranked cultivators can absorb at most 80%. Even with me being a Blood Elf, this is just… way too much. Sighing once more I head to the forest to cultivate as well as practice techniques.
After a few hours of cultivating I decide to progress with combat training. Almost immediately I spot two red horned lizards. Unlike the red horned bears, these beasts seem to be working together. Also, unique to their species, they have a VERY sensitive nose. As long as I don’t get too close I should be fine. Ah… the wind feels nice against my face. Wait… wind… my direction… crud. Both beasts seem to notice my presence and… surprise… they attack.
……….A couple hours of intense and extremely frightening noises later……….
[Me] “Finally! Huff… huff… huff…”
Two mangled lizard corpses lay at my feet. Suddenly I feel myself doing a mad-man’s laugh… one thing you learn in life is to never do a mad-man’s laugh unless you’re mad and you want to trigger some flags…
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
... and there it is. One five foot red-horned boar coming my way. My luck… I did not perceive it as this bad…
I have no more mana left, and my body is trembling of exhaustion. I have no way to escape, no way to fight, and no way to hide. It seems like Death’s messenger is finally here to collect me… how sad my life has been.
…hmm? What’s that blur? Woosh! And… in just five minutes Death’s messenger was defeated. Basically the entire fight was too much of a blur for the naked eye to see… and since I ran out of mana… all I know for sure is one minute a red-horned boar was running towards me and five minutes later it’s lying in a pool of its own blood, very gory if you ask me.
[?] “Are you okay madam?”
[Me] “Wha… oh… yes… I am Luna, may I ask for your name?”
[?] “Yes, I am called Ryan Hinamo”
[Me] “Thank you for saving me, Ryan”
[Ryan] “I would do anything if it were to help a lady as magnificent as you!”
What?! I think I found one! I found a brown haired, brown eyed, strong human who is an utterly, complete idiot!

It Started with Slime
Before we jump in, let me say that the MC starts stupid, so the language and writing style is straightforward to reflect this. The writing improves with the MC and as the chapters progress (I hope). It is also a gradual growth story, so no zero to hero in ten seconds... with that out of the way: An alchemical experiment has gone wrong and results in a Slime Monster. It doesn't have a name at first and is something that it will need to work out! This story follows a Slime that starts as a Micro Slime with some level of consciousness, and there is more to it than meets the eye. Survival is the name of the game. To improve, it works hard to grow, evolve and become more powerful to survive its harsh new reality. There is a lot more going, and only time will tell if this Slime (all its various versions) can become strong enough to make it through the strife to the other side. It's a harsh world, after all. It Started with Slime is a story with a Monster Protagonist Evolution story. There will be no profanity and no sexual content, and there will be some violence and fighting descriptions. I am a native English speaker, and so the English here should be to a good standard. That said, even though editing, there may be some corrections and typos, so if you see some, let me know! If it bothers you a lot, I am working to make sure all chapters have no typos, but of course, some might slip through. I will endeavour to correct any picked up, though! Also, I started this a few months ago and so any feedback is always appreciated, also reviews and ratings! If you like or don't like the story, let me know in the detailed reviews! That always helps me see what is good and what needs improving. Working on releasing chapters twice a week, I will try to increase that as time goes, but at the moment, that is what I can release. Patreon has more. If the story gets more popular, then I will increase the releases. I am aiming ultimately for a chapter a day if I can get to that. Chapters are roughly 1500 words, with Interludes every five chapters being more or less than that! Enjoy! Edit: Book 1 finished on Patreon, and the format for Book 2 is slightly different with Interludes every three chapters, and the release schedule will be three chapters a week. 8 98Digital Haven
The modern world fell into a deep depression, and few options remained for the suffering lower class. The global economy crumbled under a growing energy crisis and overpopulation led to the creation of a virtual frontier known as Teurilia, the first full immersion virtual reality. Teurilia introduced a world of adventure and exploration leaning on human nature for greed and power. The world, built to be a realistic role-playing game offered players nearly unlimited freedom and became wildly popular around the world within weeks of its initial release. Originally intended to be a temporary relief from the real world, the world’s governments soon realized the potential of virtual existence with the release of technology to permanently transfer consciousness from physical bodies into virtual ones. Supported by economists of the world and political power from the United Nations, Teurilia received limitless funding to support the migration of millions of new citizens. Eric Williams like many low-class citizens immediately saw the potential new life in Teurilia offered and signed up for the migration program within the first week of its announcement. Eric always dreamed of grand adventure and Teurilia was his golden ticket. This is his story…
8 278The Altered, The Augmented, And The Ascended

Only fables of them remain for they had uploaded their consciousness and departed from the physical world. Follow the epic interspecies war between the three races vying for dominance on a planet that has endured a millennium of endless strife.
8 149The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic
