Anyways, as any self-respecting Beholder, I have an unending desire to learn. I can have my own opinions and a unique personality, but at my core I am just an amalgamation of an all-devouring and ever-growing curiosity. Endearing, aren’t I?

Still not interested? Then how about this. I look like a giant eye measuring a few hundred meters across, and I spent the last few millennia refining my body into the most all-encompassing and precise sensory organ I could think of (you can’t exactly learn about something you can’t see, hear or otherwise sense, you know.) Last decade I managed to start sensing the laws of my world, which is nice, but more intriguingly I sensed a connection to somewhere else. After twelve years of tracking that connection I have finally arrived here, which seems to be an independent mind space called RoyalRoad. Any chance you could suddenly become helpful and give me a tour?

Well, to be fair there seems to be nothing here except endless white space, so a tour may not be needed. I must say, this pure monotony is quite refreshing for someone accustomed to the eternally burning atmosphere of my home world. The vast majority of demons are brimming with destructive vitality, so things are seldom quiet over there.

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.

The Universe is held together by something. It is an undisputable truth but nobody knows what that something is. Everyone wants to live in a fantasy world, right up until they have to face dark beings beyond their comprehension. Everyone wants to be a hero, right up until every day becomes a fight for their life. Sixteen-year-old introvert Will Newbie lives in a fantasy world. He's the hero of this story. He has been left with nothing; after a brief adventure in the mountains near his home, he returns to find his entire home missing, every person mysteriously vanishing into thin air. All that's left for him is his rather, "disembodied" older sister and the quest given to him by a rat-turned-god: Gather a team of Champions, fight back against the forces of Sin, and save the world. But if he's learned anything, it's that being a hero isn't as easy as it sounded in the books. So, he'll have to keep himself together, keep his team from tearing each other apart, and figure out just how much he's willing to sacrifice for what he believes in. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! This is my first fully written story, so I want to improve. Positive or negative, I'll take it into account! I will try to update weekly every Friday, but as I'm pretty new to this kinda grind expect some irregularities. The covers are also by moi, done in Pixel Studio. Quite proud of them, really.
