《The Chosen: Colossus of Evil》Chapter 18

Blood drips off his sword as he pulls it out of the monk’s neck and lets his body drop to the ground, looking around to see vampires attacking every part of the Crystal Crown Citadel. Looking to the sky, he sees the shadowy figure of a red dragon breathing flame, destroying buildings, and occasionally snatching monks up for a quick snack. Holding a deep breath she blows a huge wake of flames toward the temple building; one of the largest structures in the area and it crumbles to the ground after just one belt of fire.
“Show off” smiles Logan as he slays yet another monk to the bloodied up dirt and looking for the progress of his minions, he then commands them to take the Citadel in the middle of the city of Crystal Crown. Mages take to the towers in an attempt to thwart off Sephinroth’s fire but having her hide so old and thick as well as massive arcane resistance she`s pummeled by spells that do nothing to slow her down.
Logan fights his way to the Citadel steps and is joined by a thunderous thud of a landing by Sephinroth who breaks up some of the stone as she lands.
“All of the Droknor are dead, and I think they died before we even got through half the city” Logan looked to Sephinroth
“I just don’t think Colossus wanted them around anymore that’s all,” she said and looking around she asked, “Where are all your vampire buddies”
“Most of them are dust, apparently they knew how to defend themselves from such an attack and the remainders are in the temple clearing it of guards,” replied Logan
“I guess they just don’t make them as they used to eh?” she said laughing a little while breathing a few fire cones to eliminate the oncoming crowd of monks “Go inside Logan I will barricade us inside to prevent any more interruptions, we need to find that tome”
Logan bolts inside as Sephinroth with her gigantic forearms tumbles down rocks and boulders to the entrance door sealing it up.
Already inside the library’s oldest section Logan and his vampires start skewering the shelves looking for the book. Minutes go by until Sephinroth join’s up with them
“How did you get inside the door it was sealed and magic is useless outside of the temple?” Logan asked
“Apparently not in the old drain system they had built,” she answered smiling and looking on the opposite shelf, Logan began to search as well.
“You know Sephinroth I’ve been wondering, I’m getting my revenge on old friends, Colossus is getting godhood, what are you getting for helping him in this endeavor?” Logan curiously asked
“A life’s pursuit and wish fulfilled” Sephinroth responds
“Care to elaborate on that one” Logan edged her on and while he and she looked for the book, she divulged
Telling about her past and how she was regarded as a rogue dragon for the obscure life blending she did with powers of different creatures. Just wanted to know how everything worked but that was not good enough for the dragon clan she was apart of. The other red dragons hated her for the massive attention she was giving herself and the clan, attempting to stop her for years and building up a rage of hate from their constant intersection she grew angry and annoyed.

One night, while a gathering came about in the bowls’ of an ancient volcanic crater, and in a blinding act of fury, she killed the clan while they slept and searching around for valuables in the remains. Unveiling a secret chamber hidden by the leader that carried inside a ruby tablet like stone with draconic ruins on it, telling of a draconic queen that carried the powers of all dragons and called itself the Ultimo-dragon, she also had the power to turn any dragon that merely looked upon her eyes under her power and complete control. Slowly but steadily this dragon queen created an army and being a neutral based being she was unchallenged by the fates for taking over the realm to herself but keeping the rules of the cosmic balance in tacked.
“So how did such power become extinguished?” asked Logan being a little intrigue about the whole thing
She went on that the Dragon’s name was Kahn and she fell in love with a young knight when she portrayed a mortal. Later on in the years to come this knight learned of his conquest and tried to sway her not to continue in the name of their love and upon refusing such an offer. He had no choice and rallied all the forces of the realm to rise up against her and untimely she was defeated and the power of the crown was lost and never found. Sephinroth intends to find the crown and lay claim to the power herself.
“You’re not afraid of the same fate, you know falling in love or is that only a good dragon trait,” said Logan
“You misunderstand evil disregards love and accept it only when it works on their side, dragons are neutral and as such we can love like mortals do, I just find it useless and will never come to such a fate with the constant reminder of power in my eyes” she boasts
“So than what was up with the bazaar experiment with the girl?” Logan asked
“There was one last line in the text engraved on the tablet saying that if a future dragon wished the power that they would have to face the ruined guardian, and needed a champion to do it for the guardian is immune to all dragon abilities.
”I just wanted to seal my chances by making a super champion so to speak,” she explained
“And how did you intend on finding the artifact hmm?” he questioned
“By using the dragon jeweled staff the first time I had it but when my champion went haywire I needed to banish her first and fix my mistake” Sephinroth explained
“So why didn’t you just go find it again right away?” Logan inquired
“It’s not that easy the jewels you see have to buried and forgotten for a millennium before text and lore would reveal their next location, kind of like a security measure so beings of the present time don’t abuse the power not to mention is takes that long for the jewels to rekindle their power themselves” she concluded

“With that settled, what is with you wanting the eggs from Lalandra’s lair, I thought you couldn’t have a dragon as your champion” stated Logan
“I can’t, it’s just for a personal reward for something I haven’t had in a long time and miss,” she said starting to develop a disappointing look on her face “and you not being a mother, would never understand”
“Children…you wanted offspring, why not just find a mate and do it the normal way?”
“Well for one thing I can’t, kind of a hidden clause in my willing to rid the world of my background history, it required a sacrifice from me on a personal level and at the time it didn’t bother me, and two all dragons are female and reproduce asexually so again a most difficult obstacle to overcome”
“Wow! So when you told me before you had testosterone in you, you really weren’t kidding, I wish I knew I was running this raid with a she-male before I took this position, how uncomfortable I suddenly feel” Logan says backing away from her a bit
Shaking her head, she snaps, “Well I don’t expect you to know how I feel, you’re not a mother”
“Well that was a really good story” Logan says yawning a bit “but you still didn’t answer my question beings how you can accomplish your goal still on your own, why are you in league with Colossus?”
“He promised me a more powerful binding spell to trap the powers in a being more easily and concrete since he was half way to the dead already he has better understanding of the binding power spell than I ever could” Sephinroth said
“I see,” replied Logan suddenly finding the tome they needed “Well I just found the tome we need, so I wonder how much extra Colossus would give me with the added thought of you plan”
“Probably nothing because he won’t know about it”
“And what makes you so confident that I won’t tell him” Logan says as they move from the library to a much bigger room, and suddenly changing into a dragon again Sephinroth extends her claws and slams Logan to the wall stabbing a claw into each of his shoulder blades pinning him to the wall.
“Because I will eat you right here and now and just tell him that you fled,” Sephinroth thundered to his face breathing hot steam from her breath on him scolding his skin a bit
Laughing while trying to resist the burn he says to her “You can’t kill me, I’m immune to such acts, or does turning into a lizard lower your brain capacity to hold intelligence” and smiling a bit with her teeth showing she replies sinisterly
“Logan from my point of view you have two choices, you can either touch the orb I give you to erase what I have just told you from your mind. Living out your days on this realm as you see fit, or stewing for all eternity in my digestive track, it’s your choice” and getting a glimpse of fear running through his cold arteries of knowing that she doesn’t bluff he agrees to the first option
“So where is this orb?” says Logan and watching her regurgitate for a second she brings up from her stomach the crystal orb “Grrrroossssss, ewwww I’m not touching that thing, it’s got you all over it”
“TOUCH IT NOW!” she bolted and sliding it up to his pinned hand he does and with a flash of light, he does not recall the conversation or anything in the last half hour that transpired. She then takes it back into her stomach.
“What, what happened?” said Logan unpinned from the stone and turning back to mortal form Sephinroth grips the book and says to him
“You found the book but it had a protective spell around it and it blasted you into the wall knocking you out for a sec” she smiled and shaking his head, he scrambles to his feet and recalls his vampire to retreat for now to his guild. Sephinroth and Logan then in a wake of Sephinroth’s flame teleport to the Lazarus tower.
Reflecting on her face were the blazing fires set upon Crystal Crown, a figure over looking the waking flames bringing down what was left of the city held closed her eyes only to have them suddenly open at the sound of light armored Mithril formations.
“Did you find them Matriarch?” says a voice from a guard standing beside her,
“Yes but they vanished their presence away suddenly, probably a teleport of some kind, and a most difficult signal to follow, even with my mind power” she turns her half cloaked face toward her guards and tells them to fall back to the keep to wait for her return as she takes to a slow walking strut.
“What is your destination Matriarch?” says a guardsman
“To make a deal with a certain arch mage, and bring those who have strayed from us long ago back home,” she says smiling to them
“Now go, leave me” and watching them go she then says to herself “as I now bring about the end of the family blood feud” and in a flash of a bright light with an evil laughter echoing across the air she shimmers away from plain sight.

Shadow under Plato
King’s College has a reputation. To Leo, the sharp but cynical rebel, it is a place where the people he cares about are sentenced to a fate worse than death—to live the rest of their days on the surface of a dying Earth. To Morgan, the bright and strict overachiever, it is a vault in which she may find her dreams. And for the brightest six students of King’s College, even greater opportunities reside in the legendary Class Euripides; a class which she will fight for a seat at with all her wits and will. And to Lumia, the newly Ascended girl whose smile never fades, King’s College is a terrifying puzzle just like everything else in the floating city of Plato, the last bastion of humanity. As the class of 311 commences a grueling year of study and elaborately devious tests, none of the bright-eyed students could have anticipated the weight of expectation laid upon their shoulders. After all, a student’s hopes and dreams mean little in the fight against an ever-collapsing climate. For the Educators of King’s College offer only one lesson to their future students, to the future of a dying world: Burn bright.

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com

Dawn of the Epoch
Hunter called himself an archaeologist, but he was a modern day treasure hunter. Tiyana was a scientist devoted to her craft. They were passionate people, wholly devoted to their work. Neither of them had time for love. Neither of them could resist it when it happened. Neither of them knew that the world would need the two of them to save it from a tyrannical pre-historic overlord, his cyborg vampire paramour, and their army of mindless drudges.Dawn of the Epoch is an epic science fiction novel about dark matter, death rays, nuclear warfare, and the Large Hadron Collider, but it is also a fantasy novel about medieval warriors, alchemy, and ancient gods. Dawn of the Epoch blends fantasy with reality, bringing mythology to life today. It is also an apocalyptic thriller spanning the globe from the Pyramids of Egypt to the heart of Africa to the majesty of the Himalayas. It is an epic hybrid-genre story with intense action sequences, magic, mythology, suspenseful plot twists, countless obstacles for the protagonists to overcome, and an utterly Machiavellian supernatural villain.Testimonials:"Probably one of my favorite books I've read to date. Brilliantly complex, adoringly rendered and quizzically intense. A must read and one I plan to revisit, and share!"- Amgwatts, Wattpad Reader"This has to be one of the most original and well written novels I have had the pleasure to read, on Wattpad and in general. It was captivating, interesting, immersive and above all, fantastic. I was left in awe of the beings, history and world you created. It was never dull, dry or predicable and it was a nice change from what seems to be the ever popular teen romance with vampires or werewolves or 'bad boys that are actually romantic good boys.' In the end it was a very pleasant surprise."-IridescentLies, Wattpad Readerhttp://dawnoftheepoch.weebly.com
