Finally slaughtering the last of the residents of the Plutonian colony, Alan was rewarded with a notification.
Notification: Gained Title,
[Plutonian Sovereign]
It took a week to murder over 82,000 people, Sure he used an army of elemental abominations, but that still caused a sense of sickening pride to swell up inside Alan’s chest.
Alan looked across the destroyed Walmart, with boxes and different products strewn across the floor and saw the little vampire drinking away.
“Seras, how’s that blood taste?” He spoke as a cruel evil smile extended across his face.
While he was watching his vampire drink like an addict, he chuckled at the thought of how similar she was to an alcoholic… Was there such a thing as a bloodoholic?
There should be since there are vampires. Unless they are picky eaters. But looking at his little vampire princess that was definitely not the case.
Unless her insane hunger was unique…
It’s like she’s a bottomless pit… Alan contemplated quietly. Vampires, logically, should have at least a bit of time in between blood becoming mana… or whatever magical wibbly wobbly stuff it becomes.
As Alan half pondered half complained, he sat down on a pile of clothes next to one of his fire wolves who kept watch.
Why would Alan need something to keep watch when he had already killed everyone on this planet?
Not even he himself knew. He just had a bad feeling, like the cold dread from a hurricane slowly growing just beyond sight. Call it a predator’s instinct.
However ignoring that annoying fear, he contemplated the different methods vampires might have to gather power from blood, and as time passed he dozed off.
FINALLY!!! A familiar voice shouted.
“W-what?!? Where am I???” Alan shouted out in surprise as he sat bolt upright.
Surprisingly he wasn’t where he fell asleep earlier, now he was in a cold, dark and damp cell. Walls of dark and jagged stone with a floor of smooth, cold granite-like rocks was all he could see. Speaking of seeing, the only light coming in was from a yellow bulbous ball suspended, with what could only be guessed as magic, in the middle of the room.

And in the center of this ceilingless room, he saw a corpse-like body hanging from huge chains, chains almost three feet wide and stretching up beyond the dimly lit circular room. Well, kid, this is THE fucking prison for true immortals, obviously.
The strange thing was the voice of the corpse was seemingly inside Alan’s head, but at the moment that wasn’t his biggest or most necessary question.
“So this is a prison?...” Alan muttered softly, shocked by the cold aura of nothingness that seemed to emanate from this strange place.
Heheh, yep this is The Pit, the resting place for immortals who defy The Path. Hearing an answer to his question with such a cold chuckle, Alan involuntarily felt a cold shiver of fear.
“Are you the one who gave me my power?” Alan asked in almost a whisper.
Yes and no, I gave you the beginning, the rest is a lie those damned gods made, and once again you can call me Anomaly. The self-proclaimed Anomaly uttered irritably.
“What do you mean by that??” A Shocked Alan blurted out.
Well, I mean that as soon as they thought you were a threat, they started to mess with reality so as to make every single power you gained be nothing but a lie. A rug they could pull out from underneath you when their chess pieces were in place to annihilate you. Anomaly declared, wondering how Alan would take it.
Almost immediately, completely disregarding the fact that his powers were all a lie.“So you mean to say all those people I killed weren’t real?”
Well yes, they weren’t real. Anomaly almost whispered, hoping against all odds that Alan wouldn’t have a change of heart and try to reform his life, try to be a better person, he hoped that above all Alan would not become one of those self-righteous justice freaks.
“I AM SO PISSED, I WORKED SO DAMN HARD TO KILL ALL OF THOSE LITTLE SHITS!!!”
Heheheh this is why I decided on you. Anomaly elated pronounced. I need someone who has a hunger for mayhem and a thirst for death, someone who can destroy the old and shepherd in the new. Someone who is so hungry that he would eat himself to get where he wants to go, someone who would defy the limits of what the gods placed upon him, who would throw off the suffering they deemed his to bear.

An Ouroboros, The Snake of Eternity.
"Why do you need someone for what sounds like a rebellion?" Alan inquired.
Well obviously because I need someone to rebel against the gods so I can get the fuck out of here. Anomaly grumbled irritably.
"Well you don't have to ask twice, I think you understand how strong I, Alan Maverick's, hunger for mayhem and thirst for death is?"
Yes, that I do heheh. Anomaly chuckled coldly. Now, you, are you willing to start over in a new world, a new existence, so as to escape their watchful eye?
"I have to give up my strength?..." Alan was shocked, he had only had this power for a week but it was already something he would hate to let go off, he loved this awe-inspiring power, he loved the fear it instilled in people. He had also worked hard for it, he risked his life over and over to be here... But if it was all a lie...
"I accept! I give up everything for the chance to be out of their control!" Alan bellowed with conviction, no longer would he allow the ones who deemed him unworthy of a good life to be in control, he was going to kill the gods...
Good, good, good. Anomaly spoke three times almost as if it was subconscious. Now accept a sliver of my soul, it will bind with yours and become one, it will allow me to give guidance to you and one day when you become powerful enough it will bring you to me. Now let go of your power, you will know how once you've tried. Because that which is a lie will always be cast down eventually.
Then, in a whisper almost to himself rather than Alan, he spoke again. I wish I'd learned that sooner rather than later.
Not asking the corpse what it was talking about, and probably for the best, Alan started to try to mentally let go.
It was difficult. And painful. Think of letting go of one of your arms. Think of killing a pet dog that brought you a fortune in prize money and was your best friend. It was like that.
Alan grit his teeth and thought of the power as a parasitic monster, something that had to die, something that would be in his way, something that would hurt him. He gave it the faces of the people who had hurt him.
He then looked back at the power he had gained and was disgusted by it. He HATED it.
As he was changing the way he saw his powers, he found them easier and easier to let go of until they just fell away, all those gifts he had stolen:
GONE.
Notification: ALL POWERS LOST!!!
Notification: Information gained,
All previous powers were deceptions made by the god of time, Imet, and the goddess of dreams, Drea.
Notification: Second Scale of [The Ouroboros] unlocked!
Gained: [True Gamer System]
Hahaha! Right on schedule! Anomaly laughed as he looked at the [True Gamer System] on the pop-up window in front of Alan. Well, now I have to warn you, fusing with my soul will kill you, but luckily the Ouroboros curse didn't let me down and now you have a way out, the revive function. This will give you a choice on where to revive, tell it where Anomaly wants. Then just sit back, become a badass, slay some gods and rescue me. Have fun kid.
Before Alan could say anything, a tiny emerald green whisp shot out from the chest of the corpse, and at speeds faster than the eye could see (or Alan could yell wait) it hit the psychopathic teenager right in the chest.
As Alan's vision went black, he could have sworn he heard a laughing voice say. Good luck, Successor of the Ouroboros.
