《Ex Machina (Hiatus)》Log 007

Running in a manner that produced the minimal amount of shock with each step, Derus made it back to the village mercenary outpost, stunning the guard at the gate at the speed at which the humanoid was running at. Once inside the mercenary outpost, Derus stopped running and walked towards the reception counter admist the shocked gazes and reported the incident involving the cyclops to the receptionist. Afterwards, the girl was placed in one of the beds in the sick bay and Derus ran out of the mercenary outpost, out of the village and back towards the cyclops to pick up the eye of the cyclops. When the humanoid arrived at the location, there was the cyclops which had more than likely grown smaller during the short time it took Derus to make the round trip. Despite its smaller size, the cyclop's eye retained it's size and for some reason, the cyclops was more brittle than before so Derus had no problem extracting the eye and returning to the village.
'That the cyclops decayed so rapidly is part of how this world works it seems.' thought Derus who had archived the event.
When Derus made it back to the outpost, the humanoid submitted the eye to an available receptionist and was told that the reward of two gold coins would be rewarded three days later when the duke could be notified of the completed request. Although the receptionist was a bit surprised when Derus brought in the eye of the cyclops, they still handled the submission properly to which Derus thought it was professional.
Objective Completed!
Task Archived.
Shortly after, Farris came out of the sick bay in a hurry, saw Derus and beckoned the humanoid over as they moved towards her office where they then discussed the cyclops subjugation.

"Putting aside the absurdity of taking down a Berserker Cyclops alone for now, how did you come across the girl?" asked Farris with a slightly disheveled appearance to which Derus could guess was related to the girl and responded, "Her companion had been taken down by the cyclops, I was only in time to save her."
"It's good that you were, she's the daughter of the requester. With this we can negotiate an increase in the reward, what do you say?"
"I won't mind having the extra currency to lug around."
"Good that's settled then. Now if you don't mind me asking, how did you subjugate the Berseker Cyclops alone?"
"Is it necessary for you to know?"
"Just a curiousity and really, with how child-like you appear to be, no one suspects you to be all that strong."
"I see. But to answer the question, all I did was what I was capable of doing."
After Derus said that, Farris looked over the humanoid, scrunched her brows, narrowed her eyes and asked Derus.
"So you punched it?"
"Among other things, yes."
"I... See... What is your goal Derus?"
Before Derus could respond, a knock came on the door. After Farris gave the ok, one of the receptionists came in and game a status report on the girl, Ms. Castle, Derus had brought in. It seems that she is in stable condition from the first aid that had been administered but she would need time to heal and as such, the Duke had been contacted. Seeing that the talk between the two would take a while, Derus left the office. Moving into the outpost foyer, Derus was met with looks of admiration and some nods rather than the usual curious glare.

'News travels fast it seems...' thought Derus who then went outside and took an afternoon stroll around the village before settling on top of the roof of one of the buildings and looking at the clear blue sky. It was a peaceful scene of observing the different clouds streak across the sky slowly whilst a gentle breeze hovered in the air. Taking the opportunity of the quiet time, the humanoid closed its eyes and Derus was once more in the code room that had been remodelled to appear as a forest rather than a dull void-filled space. Since Derus had left, there were adaptations made to the forest such as the executed codes which had run along the walls of void code room had now run across the forest floor and on the tree trunks instead. Molding the sky Derus had just seen into the sky of the void space and coding for a weather system passed the time for Derus until the evening.
Afterwards, Derus returned to the outpost sickbay and decided to enter a deep sleep state for the next three days, the time it would take for the reward to arrive at the village and also to quickly recharge some of the energy lost. Since this was a long sleep time, Derus coded for a proximity alarm which used the humanoid body's abilities in sound and energy detection to determine if any significant lifeform remained in proximity to Derus for a certain amount of time would forcefully cancel the sleep state. Before finally moving into the sleep state, Derus set an auto response in the event someone tried waking the humanoid which was to have the person tap the foreheard of the humanoid if waking up was necessary.
Like this, the three days passed with Derus dedicating all of the humanoid's body resources to recharging the lost mass of energy and the girl sleeping in one of the beds. No one bothered the girl but there were a few atempts to rouse Derus which were dealt with by the automatic response set up in advance. After waking from the sleep state at the end of the three days, Derus checked the status of the humanoid body before leaving the sick bay.
