PHASE 22 - GOD CORE REUNIONS
I’ve been in wars involving hordes of Gate Guardians and Cursed Guardians for two times. First is the Christmas Raid, and the second is after the Gate Guardian’s Tournament. And I’d say those two events that I got myself involved in seemed like skirmishes.
This is the Leng City Raid, which will turn out to become the Phoenix Incident; the most notorious war in Gate Guardian history. I have read that there are lots of casualties involved in this war. I’ve seen tens of thousands of lifeless bodies in my too, so I’m sure that I’ll be seeing shredded guts and minced human meat flying around once again. Good thing I only had a cup of coffee for breakfast or else I’d be throwing up.
“Charge!” Martha Fontaine von Noctis led the attack. She pointed her revolver towards the enemy base which is a few hundred meters away.
There, the enemy Cursed Guardians are waiting. I don’t know what’s their exact numbers, but I’m pretty sure we can have a one-is-to-one battle ratio in this fight. They all have silver hairs and crimson eyes, and they had their body covered with a dark cloak. At the back of their apparel is a sigil of a sword that has the hilt of a skull; the symbol of the Dark Legion.
“Haaaaah!!!” Gate Guardians roared as they scattered around the vast plains. Frontliners who are wielding swords, flails, ax, lances, gauntlets, and hammers made the initiative to jump into battle.
Countless metallic clanks echoed. Spell shouts surrounded the air. Fire, wind, water, and earth projectiles flew overhead. Every time a blade swings, blood will be splattered to the ground.
I’m pretty sure if Tiara is narrating this, she will be like Boom! Waaaah! Hiyaaaa! Kablam! Swooom! Bang bang bang! Washah! Pwaaah! Spud! Chachachachacha! Pewpewpewpewpew! Aaaaah! Darn, I miss her already.
I’m part of the Infiltration Team, so our objective is to pave way for ourselves and enter the facility as fast as possible. So my platoon, including Macho Steel, are focused on reaching the entrance of the nearest building. From afar, you could mistake us as quarterbacks running to the field goal.
“!!!”
Macho Steel flexed his thick biceps, and a metallic horn spawned on his shoulders. Then he crouched and raced like a judo-master, ready to take down two Cursed Guardians in front.

“Gahaaah!” The poor Cursed Guardians cried as they got their stomach pierced by Macho Steel’s shoulder-horns.
Two enemies might have been taken down, but there are three more Cursed Guardians who blocked our way. I don’t like intervening as much as possible, but I need to get inside the facility fast.
“!!!”
A blink of darkness and a silver streak was made. With one strike, I manage to defeat three enemies. But, there are about fifty of them who appeared as backup!
“This is endless!” One of the Gate Guardians said. “We will waste a lot of time defeating these hordes of Cursed Guardians!”
“Leave this to me!” Khal puffed his macho breasts as he held his hips like a superhero. Then, he moved his one foot backward, ready to charge with a powerful attack spell. “!!!”
With a speed of a sound, the macho man burst forward and spin like a drill, splitting the hordes of enemies into two groups. Those enemies who are unlucky enough to be in his way flew fifty meters above ground, just to crash mercilessly on the deserted soil.
“Go! Go! Macho Steel!” Gate Guardians cheered him up.
I don’t have time to be fangirling over my future teacher. I used the road that Macho Steel made to sprint towards the main research building. Cursed Guardians tried to intercept me, but I just answered them a swift slash to their neck with the flat part of my blade, making them only unconscious.
Fifty meters left. I’m near my destination. Once I entered the facility, I can have a better view to find Leon Frembell; the Cursed Guardian that possesses the God Core of Chronos. I’ll steal it from him and go back to my own time, and it will be all over.
But suddenly, one peculiar Cursed Guardian blocked my path. He’s a man with a killing glare and long silky silver hair. He held his chest which glowed with gray light.
“!!!”
An invisible shockwave exploded, making me fly and roll to the dusty soil. Smoke covered a small area as a black pillar of light emerged to the one who just activated a familiar power.
A silhouette walks out from the smoke. He revealed his arms that look like dragon claws, his skin full of rubbery black scales, his giant wings that look like a bat, and his long hair that transformed into swarms of tentacles. He’s Cthulhu, in a human-sized form.

“Wha-What the heck!?” I cried. “Why does he have the Fake God Core of Cthulhu!?”
“Hrraaagh!!!” Cthulhu smashed his dragon claws to me, but I immediately blocked it with my crimson katana. The divine force the fake god is unleashing to his arm is enormous that it made a small crater on my foot. I’ll be planted like a turnip if this goes on.
“!!!”
Macho Steel leaped forward, his biceps now covered with thick metal sleeves. He made a slam dunk straight to Cthulhu’s skull which popped like a tomato. Tentacles and limbs of the octopus god flew around us. Black blood showered upon me.
“Phew! That was close!” Macho Steel wiped his sweat.
“Watch out!” I immediately tackled my future high school teacher away from the scene. I saw it in my that Cthulhu will reform after five seconds, and it planned to wrap my teacher with his tentacles. I saved him because I don’t want to watch male-tentacle hentai.
The black blood and meat chunks all around crawled and stacked, then remolded the body of the Fake God anew. I have wielded the power of Cthulhu, so I know his properties. His massive regeneration capabilities know no end, and he’s exempted from the concept of death.
“What the heck is that guy?” Macho Steel grunted.
“So that is the Fake God Core they are talking about.”
Suddenly, a familiar divine aura landed beside us. She is a woman of pure beauty, with long golden hair, seductive bouncy breast, coke-shaped body, and perfect child-bearing hips. She’s wielding two revolvers with each of her hands. When she looked at me, she winked with her sparkling purple eyes. I was awed to see a familiar face that I have never seen a long time.
“Goddess Freya!” Macho Steel cheered.
Yes, it’s the Goddess Freya. She looks the same as back then, but I know she’s not the one I know. As far as I can remember, the person holding the God Core of Freya as of this time is Amy’s mother; Martha von Noctis.
“!!!” Freya burst forward towards Cthulhu’s direction, leaving sphere explosives on her way. The ground shakes as multiple clustered explosions bombarded the octopus god.
Her flashy attack worked, completely burning Cthulhu to crisps. But the charred pieces reformed again back to its former humanoid self, free from any injury. There is no end to this man.
“H-How are we supposed to kill that thing!?” Freya complained. Sweat started to run on her cheeks.
<>
“!!!”
Suddenly, a surge of blacklight fell on a distance. Another divine entity has made his appearance as if the situation can’t be a lot worse.
A tall man covered with golden cloak walks from behind Cthulhu. His arms are tentacles, his feet are rotten tendrils, and his face is full darkness. Behind that yellow hood, his crimson eyes glowed. There is a yellow sign of 666 on his forehead. I’m pretty sure this one is the Fake God Hastur, Cthulhu's brother.
Macho Steel, Freya, and the other Gate Guardians gritted their teeth. They don’t know how to deal with an immortal god, let alone be two of them. We may overpower them, but they will keep on regenerating until our time and energy runs out.
I do have an ace on my sleeve. spells are magic that defies logic. I can kill unkillable enemies. But, if I get the credit on defeating Cthulhu and Hastur, then the name “Aeternos” will truly be known as a hero in this war. It will be my debut, as the Outsider once told me.
I made a stabbing stance, ready to unleash any minute.
But then…
The surroundings became black and white. The war noises stopped. All motions halted. Time was frozen completely.
A man with a red scarf and black jacket appeared in front of my face.
“Those Fake God Cores are really interesting.” The Outsider chuckled. “Listen, I’ll give you a spell that only Demigoddess Tiara can cast. Steal the Fake God Cores, and I shall give you the location of the God Core of Chronos.”
I smirked as I realized one thing.
So this is where this jackass got all the bootleg God Cores he has been selling to us.

Journey of my Core
I have a hard time referring anything that I write to as 'Original'. The longer we as a species exist the harder it is to be truly original, I am certainly influenced by all that I read and watch Including but not limited to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, and all of the stories here on Royal Road. From the start the MC is only able to comprehend the most basic of what is impacting it with very little to no understanding of the MC's surroundings. There may be updates in the future, but I am in no way a consistant writer. I will never claim to be the best artist, but I drew a representation for my story. Procrastination... Procrastination...
