《Stuck in a zombie world with an OP shop》Chapter 7
Advertisement
Ryan doesn't see any zombies close enough to be an immediate threat, but he still quickly takes his spear from under the van and holds it in his left hand while the sword is in his right. Carefully, Ryan climbs onto the hood of the van and then onto the roof. There, he opens the shop once more.
In the armor tab, Ryan purchases a pair of heavy gloves for 150 credits and a protective motorcycle jacket for 2000 credits. The jacket might have been very expensive, but it offered protection for Ryan's chest, back, arms, and neck.
From standing on top of the van, several zombies began to crowd around Ryan. Though the zombies could not reach him with their arms, the ones at the front of the van were almost managing to climb up. Ryan quickly ended their feeble attempts with his spear and cut the zombies that clawed at the sides of the van with his sword.
A few minutes later, most of the zombies on the street were cleared. Ryan wondered how the busy city streets had fewer zombies roaming than the sewer, but he didn't question it. Rather, Ryan descended from the van and began a slow run towards the direction of his parents' home in Garden City. The trip would take him almost 15 miles across Detroit, which he had no idea how long it would take during a zombie infestation.
As he needed it, Ryan bought glasses of water and drank them. He had almost five thousand credits, so a few glasses of water were just drops in the bucket and allowed him to perform marginally better than without it. After almost a mile, about ten minutes later, Ryan once again stood among a crowd of zombies. With his sword and spear, Ryan had managed to kill off any zombies in his path, but the numbers now were getting too much.

Ryan climbs between the truck and the cab of an 18-wheeler so he can climb onto the roof. The feat of dexterity is something he wouldn't have been able to do several days ago, but the climbing skill made it much easier. After throwing his sword and spear to the roof, Ryan ascends himself. During his break, Ryan buys a scabbard for his belt for 120 credits and places the sword in it. Then, with his spear, gets to work on the crowd of zombies below.
Several minutes pass while Ryan stabs the skulls of zombies, but he's interrupted when a car begins driving down the road. From the passenger window, an arm is hanging out and bashing zombie heads with a baseball bat.
"It's a living person!" Yells the person holding the bat.
"I wonder how many credits we get for killing a person!" Yells the other man in the car.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

Zarif's Story
Please note this is a 18+ so it will have descriptions and scenarios that only a grown up would tolerate and be capable of handling without feeling repulsed. Zarif, a demi-human slave of orcs and goblins is brutally murdered when he does not accomplish the impossible - awakens to find himself resting within the arms of an elderly woman with tears in her eyes. ____________________________________________________________________________ As I like to be a little creative in the way I write, there might be a few mistakes per chapter - so be sure to notify me in the comments if you think something seems wrong. You might be confused as you read on since I switch about constantly, but please continue reading and maybe leave a comment on why you did not like what you read and decided to drop the story.

Note: This story has been published before, up until chapter 19. I have taken the decision of re-writing it, which is why it will be posted from the start.
