Beep, beep, beep, alerted her walker as it ceased to a halt.
It had detected something nearby.
Wolf darted upwards and quickly slid over to her gun which was hooked to a metal railing on the roof of her walker. Arming herself with her bolt-action sniper rifle she peered off into the horizon. Her abrupt movement spooked her raven, who flew upwards into the air.
Breep, announced the walker, bree, beep. The walker made distinct sounds, noises that Wolf could interpret and understand.
The walker extended his left arm which was a high-caliber machine gun, upwards and pointed Wolf in the direction of an enormous pile of trash and debris.
Wolf adjusted her scope on the top of her large rifle and aimed at the garbage heap.
The walker opened the palm of its right metal hand, breep, breep.
Wolf nodded her head and leaped off of the metal roof and onto the walker's open mechanical palm with her sniper rifle in hand.
The mechanical walker leaned over, cranking its arm back.
Wolf crouched down in the palm of its mechanical hand. The gears and oiled pistons of the mechanical arm covered her fingers in black oil and grime.
Wolf closed her eyes and wiped the black grime across her eyes, marking herself with good luck.
Wolf looked up to the beautiful clear sky to see her soaring raven up in the heavens.
Breep, the walker sounded off as it flung Wolf straight into the air like a baseball.
Wolf flew directly above the walker straight up into the air. It felt as if she was able to touch the clouds.
Her raven flew in, and around her, circling the mid-air girl.
Wolf peered through the scope of her rifle and surveyed the trash heap from up high in the air.

She could see something scavenging through the trash behind the fields of garbage and debris.
A Mannequin. A thin skeletal metal automaton scavenged through the trash. They were scavengers of valuables and ammunition. These automatons impersonated men by wearing thick garments and their outer shell was a made of a porcelain-like plating.
Wolf angled and adjusted her shot before pulling the rifle's trigger, firing in mid-air.
The heavy thunderous round darted towards the scavenging robot with a loud sounding crack.
The Mannequin turned its attention to the hovering sniper in the sky.
The bullet pierced and blew the Mannequin's head clean off of its thin metal body. Black grimy oils and clear lubricants squirted and poured from the detached tubing and frayed wiring.
The jolt of the fired rifle sent Wolf backwards in the air. The momentum of the walker's throw began to slow. Wolf glanced over the endless hills and fields of sand and debris.
She could see what seemed to be the shuttle, but it was far from her position.
Wolf began to plummet downwards at intense speeds. Her heart raced. She tried to catch a breath but couldn't. The cold force of air chilled her body and blew strongly against her face. She panicked as she fell from the sky squinting to see through the rushing air.
Her raven darted downwards, chasing her, as she crashed towards the soft sandy terrain.
Within a second from colliding with the sands below Wolf watched in slow-motion as the walker swept her up in mid-air and cradled her like an infant.
Bree, bree, breep, the walker sounded as it cradled her with a sense of humour.
"À la fin," she replied with a huge grin, "put me down already!"
Wolf dropped down onto the sand below. Grains of sand leaped into the air as her feet dug into the desert floor. Wolf zipped up her bodysuit and brushed the sand from her hair.
"Allez, allez!" she commanded, running towards the debris pit.
Mannequin's were well-known for carrying the best loot to offer in the wasteland.
She was excited to examine her first mid-air kill, even though it was only an automaton.

Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.

Chapters released Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:30 Warning: After Chapter 11, the MC undergoes a significant change of class and race. This is due to a couple of factors. The first is that when the MC was created, James didn't know what he was doing, so he picked what he thought would work. The second reason is that he had access to more information to game the system a little. The premise is like when you buy a new video game and decide to play it without RTFM. After creating a great character and making it to the end of the first act, you realize that, although your character may be kewl, it is gimped and will not survive until the end of the game. Going back to the start, you create a new character with the knowledge you gained from playing the game and perhaps, peeking at the manual.
