Finally being able to act out his unreasonable form of revenge, Lian felt that one of his burdens holding him back in life had vanished. Being able to do as he wished outside of the confines of “civilized human interaction” and without worrying for consequences truly felt liberating.

Lian’s felt like his spirit was briefly cleansed. Ignoring the notification, he looked back at Francisco while waiting for a response…

On Francisco’s end, he didn’t whether to laugh or cry. After a long day of stress and work in the fields, he just wanted some rest for the night. Somehow, a random person ended up beating him up in his own room! They even dared to question him!

“What the fuck! Who have I pissed off!?”

Francisco was truly lost for words. Looking back up, he finally saw the assailant’s face. This made him even more confused….

Lian: “I won’t repeat myself. What’s your problem?”

Francisco: “What do you mean? *Cough*…What did I do to you?”

Lian: “Heh…you think I’m some pushover? Why did you bump into my shoulders today?”

Francisco: “What!? That’s the only reason for this whole m-“

Lian: “You’re not answering my question.”

Francisco was still on the floor trying to catch his breath. Still muddle and confused, he finally surrendered.

Francisco: “Over the last few weeks, some rich guy from the city has been hanging out with my girlfriend. I think they’re just friends, but I couldn’t help but develop some jealousy and hatred towards you city guys. So, when I saw you come yesterday, I wanted to vent some stress.”

After hearing this piece of information, Lian finally received the notification that he was looking for.

System: *Side Task Created: Solve Francisco’s Love Problem!*

System: *Task: Help Francisco find a partner. More effort put towards this task along with a good resolution will lead to a greater amount of farming exp and other forms of rewards.*

This situation was exactly what Lian wanted. It allowed him to solve two birds with one stone. First, he managed to put Francisco in his place while nipping any future conflict in the bud. Second, he also managed to receive a side task that will allow for faster growth.

“Hehehe…Now we can get the ball rolling…”

Francisco stared blankly at the man in front of him while fearing for his life. This is because Lian had been staring at him for the past 30 seconds without a saying a word. If he could compare it to something, Lian closely resembled some serial killer from a scary movie.

Eventually, Lian zoned back into the conversation. He already knew that he couldn’t give Francisco a chance to view him as sane. This wasn’t the time to be his usual self. If he wanted to probe more information for the task, he had to assert his dominance in this exchange.

Lian: “I see…what’s this guy’s name that you’ve mentioned?”

Francisco: “His name… his name is Rafael… Rafael Ignacio.”

Lian: “Okay… and what’s your girlfriend’s name?”

After hearing this, Francisco tensed up and became defensive.

Francisco: “Why do you want to know my girlfriend’s name? I don’t care if you hurt me! I’ll never-“

Lian: “Calm down. I don’t have any bad intentions you weirdo. What’s her name?”

From seeing Francisco’s protective reaction, Lian actually felt a little bit of respect for him, but that’s all it was. On Francisco’s end, this confirmation allowed him to slightly calm down. Deciding that Lian probably wouldn’t go too far, he gave in.

Francisco: “Her name’s Isabel… Why do you want to know…?”

Lian: “If I told you that I can detect cheaters based on behavioural signs, would you believe me?”

Francisco murmuring: “Yeah he’s definitely some psycho…”

Francisco: “Oh…can you? That’s cool.”

Francisco: “Wait…why? You think my girlfriend might be cheating? There’s no way. She’d never do something like that…”

At this point, Lian was making up complete bullshit. He just wanted to dig up some more information for his quest.

Lian: “Listen. Introduce me to your girlfriend tomorrow. Meet me up at 8am in the main barn.”

Lian: “I’ll be able to tell if she’s acting suspicious. Consider it my gratitude for punching you. Don’t worry, I won’t bother you after that.”

Francisco really felt like crying now.

“No that’s fine. Why don’t you just leave me be…”

Then again, who knows? Francisco thought that there may be there some truth to what the guy was saying. Although he ignored Lian yesterday, the dude didn’t seem too strange then. Even now, at least Lian didn’t beat him up while he was down.

Regardless, as long as he could get rid of this violent weirdo, Francisco would agree to almost anything. Besides, no one would believe him if he complained that Lian was this crazy. Since it was a small request, he might as well concede.

Francisco: “Sure, no problem! I’ll meet you up there at 8am.”

Lian: “Good.”

Leaving to his room, Lian cracked his knuckles while commending himself for his shameless investigational tactics. Making sure that no was in his line of sight, he shook his wrists and swore.

Lian murmuring: “…Fuck! That punch actually hurt my hand a little bit.”

While preparing the bed, Lian once again set-up a mental alarm. Technically, he didn’t need to use his “stereo” ability this way. In fact, there were storage rooms in almost each house where cheap mini-alarm clocks were offered.

However, Lian was a deep sleeper and knew that he would easily snooze through these types of alarms; therefore coming up with his revolutionary idea. He even managed to discover a clock function. With this, he would never have to use watches or worry about not knowing the time in the future.

Yawning, Lian cleared his thoughts and passed out. With much left to discover, who knew what the future had in store...?
