3 days after the explosion - Magic university

" Can you believe that after fixing my face none recognise me?"(prince)

" Yes I can,since you have been avoiding everyone this last few years. But more importantly, why as soon as you got here you lay on a couch and start telling me your problems? and where did that couch come from!!!!!"(Rebbeca)

As soon as the prince reached the room, he searched for the couch,lay there and started to tell Rebbeca some of the problems that happened yesterday. She tried to ignore him for a while but since he wouldn't shut up,she had to revoke

" oh yeah,I asked the arch mage to put a comfortable couch here,there is also a magic freezer with snacks under it"(Prince)

"And why is it here!!!???"(Rebeca)

"Yesterday I got really tired talking to you while standing,and I got thirsty and hungry in the middle of it so I asked the arch mage to put this here so I have a place to rest when a pay a visit"(prince)

"I am going to destroy it you know"(Rebbeca)

"But it's really comfortable,it would be such a waste to break it,besides you can use it when taking a break"(Rebbeca)

Rebbeca started to think the pros and cons of the idea,she could use it since it wasn't a bad idea but making the prince happy.....

"Fine, but if you dirty the couch in any way of eat the snacks I like, I will kill you"(Rebbeca)

Yeah,I don't doubt it(prince)

"So were is my stuff? I know you are an idiot but don't tell me you also got the mental capacity of a fish"(Rebbeca)

" I will sent your cloth and books later to the university,but I wanted to do it discretely so it doesn't rise too many questions"(Prince)

"I don't care about that,I can buy it when ever I want, i only care about my research papers and log books"(Rebbeca)

"uh?"(prince)

"Don't tell me you can't even figure that out? i only want the stuff that i wrote, and magical items and materials i had in my room since they are hard to get, every thing else is pointless"(Rebbeca)

"What are you talking about? the only thing in your room was cloth furniture and some books, no papers, no magic items, no materials"(Prince)

"you sure?"(Rebbeca)

"Yeah, unless you hid it somewhere, there was nothing like that in your room"(prince)

"you are not lying to keep my research papers right?you know what would happen if you did?"(Rebbeca)

"And what would be the point? I can't use it myself and the only people who I know that could use it are here, and as soon as you find out that i did it, I am dead meat"(Prince)

"Yeah, you are not the type to put your life in danger for a minimal possibility of high reword, but that doesn't explain why my papers weren't in my room. Did you lend the key to someone and send then to get what was inside?"(Rebbeca)

"I did lent it to someone but only to open the door, i knew you would put a trap there just for fun"(prince)

Rebbeca clicked her tong at that, but the prince wasn't sure it was because her idea was wrong or because her trap didn't work, probably both...

"Well, if you didn't steal it and you didn't lend the key to someone else, giving them the chance to steal it, the only other option I can think of is that someone broke in to my room and stole them"(Rebbeca)

"Is it possible?knowing you, it should be more easy to rob a bank than enter your room"(Prince)

"I didn't make it easy but i am not an expert infiltrator, that's more Jorge department, or mom"(Rebbeca)

"Yeah, but Jorge is more like how to get into a lady's room"(prince)

"hey, I am a lady you know"(Rebbeca)

Right.....(Prince)

"My point is, that instead of an individual that got inside for fun, this looks like a professional"(prince)

"yeah, It's not like everyone can use my research, you need high level professional magicians researchers, and I know they aren't using this university researchers, so they must be private contractors or from other country's"(Rebbeca)

"How can you be so sure no one from here is working on them"(Prince)

"Oh, i have magic surveillance all over the place, some of the stuff they research here are really interesting so i keep tabs on them. Also, all the researchers are in important projects and none had a shift of staff, so it's not here"(Rebbeca)

The prince started to think who else could steal the research that had the resources to enter a highly secure room with great timing and without being notice.

"You think it's the same group that made the temple explode?"(Prince)

"Probably, but its possible that a different group took the opportunity and stole them,it's not like we lack enemy's and since i am famous, my research could be really expensive in the black marked"(Rebbeca)

Actually searching the black marked isn't a bad idea(prince)

he had some extra official contacts thanks to some side business he did in secret(buy and sell stuff related to alchemy) so he may find out something if he ask around

"you know, if you give me a list of the stuff missing, If they are selling it in the black marked I may find something"(Prince)

"Really? i didn't know you had dealings with shady stuff, i would have thought that doing something even remotely dangerous was against your life policy"(Rebbeca)

well, you aren't wrong, but if it is really beneficial for me, then...(prince)

For some of his experiments, he needed rare, difficult to get and even some times illegal materials, and after asking around he did found a "special dealer". He also sold some of his experiments, like the sleeping powder, and got a lot of money in the side and build a small network of "special" contacts. Thanks to all this finding out if something was sold in the black marked wasn't impossible, but only if.

"It's a long and boring story,but yeah i know someone"(prince)

"Right... well, even if its annoying to write it down, i guess i can't let them get away with stealing my stuff so give me a second"(Rebbeca)

Rebbeca went to a table and after grabbing 2 papers and 2 pens, the pens started to write alone in the paper. The prince could guess she had done it in some way so he wasn't surprised, but he did find it impressive since it probably needed an impressive level of concentration.

she is even a monster in doing simple stuff(prince)

When she finish, she handed one to the prince and keep the other, probably to do her own investigation later. The prince took a look at the paper and found a list, probably of all the things stolen

"Is this all?"(prince)

"Yep, if my memory is right, and I am sure it is"(Rebbeca)

"Then why is only one of your researches in the list?"(Prince)

"Since I have done a lot of researches over the years, the paper work is enormous, so I leave most of it here so they can study, make and some times even improve it. I usually take one or two projects to my room"(Rebbeca)

"oh, so i only need to ask about stolen or "new" information about summoning, besides the artifacts and materials?"(Prince)

"Or summoning related stuff, it's mostly theoretical stuff and it can't be use yet, but with enough time and investment, it could accomplish interesting things. The other stuffs are rare, but not impossible to get, so even if it wouldn't be impossible to appear, if they suddenly came in the last few days, it should be mine,meaning the seller would be involved with the robbery some how"(Rebbeca)

"mmm, I guess my best bet right now would be to ask for the materials and artifacts and contact the seller if there is one. I could ask for the research also, but it's probably to hot to sell . Tomorrow I am going to ask around"(Prince)

"Tomorrow? why not today? the more you wait the harder it would be to get the stuff"(Rebbeca)

"I am under protection now, I cant disappear for a couple of hours without an alibi, I need to return to my room to get my disguise and i usually meet my contacts in the morning when there is at least some sun light but few people outside."(Prince)

"Fine, but tell me later if you find something"(Rebbeca)

"ok, and i expect the same thing from you"(Prince)

"Of cource"(Rebbeca smiled)

The prince thought of telling her about the priestess, but it was pointless since the information was too little and she probably didn't care

"Well, i am leaving before you teleport me to the palace yourself"(Prince)

"It wouldn't be the palace"(Rebecca smiled again)

He went outside of the university and found the usual carriage and lazy soldiers with the addition of a blond knight.

"I still don't get why I can't go inside with you, like it or not I am supposed to protect you"(Aria)

compared to yesterday, she was in a better mental state. The prince wasn't sure why but maybe having the support of his fiancé helped, or maybe something else.

"Look, I went to deal with important stuff that must be maintain in highly secret. The only way i could let you inside was by adding a restriction in your collar that would punish you if you ever talk about it to someone not related"(Prince)

"Fine, but I don't like it"(Alice)

"Well, if you finish complaining, lets return to the palace, I am exhausted"(prince)

In the way back, the prince tried to figure out the best way to be alone for a good while tomorrow without causing suspicion on himself
