《Cursed Armor Reincarnation》Chapter 30: Infiltration Part II

Everyone was gathered together in the lowest floor. Even the “rebels” were listening in on this speech that Rune was about to give. However, he was mainly planning to have himself, Rena, and Rouna go to infiltrate the place.
The rest of Rune’s group would back them up around the capital building and the children rebels would provide support with the rifles that Rune had brought from the ship. They were to wait around on the roof of the Warehouse and, if they saw that the rest of the group was in trouble, they would shoot.
The guns that Rune had made with Jared and Kelly were simple with the hammer, trigger, and ammo clips. There were spirals in the muzzle, but it was directly connected to the gun frame. It was far from perfect, but they were more powerful than Earth’s weapons thanks to the force of the explosions in the chamber which allowed the bullet to travel at immense speeds without being affected by bullet drop for at least five times that of a regular gun of its type.
Rune was now wearing his usual set of clothes except the color scheme was all black and dark grey. Rena was wearing a mask like an oni and was wearing black kunoichi style clothes with detached sleeves. Rouna was wearing a set of a black long sleeve that was way too big for her and some black baggy pants.
They couldn’t bring the invisibility amulets because the capital building had a barrier which canceled out magic that could hide one’s presence. Thus eliminating the idea of invisibility or the use of presence elimination. Even so, one could use skills to cancel their presence, but they were limited to only presence. It would be over as soon as someone saw you.
The reason that Rena, Rune, and Rouna would go was because they were the most adept at stealthily moving. They were going to move in the cover of the night.
There were five days remaining until the Black Dragon came, but Rune wanted to get a copy of the keys beforehand so that they would be prepared to go in. They would also plant a surveillance device in the third, fourth, and fifth floor if possible.
If the plan went smoothly, they would spend the rest of the week in Nerys, the Sphinx village, and stay there until the Black Dragon came. His plan was to go back with Sophia, Nacht, Lacht, Hyht, Mynn, and Yula to Nerys and keeping Rouna, Elisa, Erin, Rena, Riika, and Hika in the Manticore village.
The children were to stay in the village and tell Riika the peculiar things they saw and what was going on. Then she would report them to the rest of the group wearing the other earpieces. The radio would stay with her and Rouna and Elisa would both protect her at the same time.
And so, the heist began. Rune placed the camera and transmitters in his storage and a material that could harden if mana was pushed through it, but was otherwise soft before that happened. He planned to push the key on it, then mold it, and copy it to create a key with the same structure as the other one.
Rune stepped out of the building with Rena and Rouna. All three had donned invisibility amulets to not be seen before the mission. To get to the trap door, Sophia described it in detail what it looked like and where it was.

It was a squarish door that was covered in the sand around the well. It was under the place one would put the bucket on the small table. The way to get in would be to uncover it and force it open as they didn’t know what they could do to open it.
The three of them jumped onto the hovering platform and moved to the center of the town where the capital building was placed. They moved off when they had reached the well and they looked under the table with the water bucket on it.
Indeed, there was a strange indent, more than the other part of the sand and Rune placed his hand over it. Rena and Rouna watched as he put it all in his storage and the door was found. However, he couldn’t place a door in his storage because the storage did not allow for him to place pieces of architecture in his storage unless it was completely broken off from the actual building. He could not store a house, but if he broke off a window or a door, he could store that piece that he broke off.
However, for this situation, he did not know if he should or should not break it and looked at the door. It was metal door that had a valve on it and it was locked tightly. Rune grabbed hold of the valve and turned it one way, but had to turn it the other as he messed up the first time.
When he couldn’t turn anymore, he pulled it upwards and it opened to reveal stairs moving downwards. All of them jumped down the hatch and Rune closed it on them and placed the sand above the hatch. It wouldn’t be precise, but it would likely cover the hatch enough to not be noticed.
Rune cast [Light] and started to move down the staircase. The other two followed as he soon reached a wall with a handle on it. It looked like a doorknob with a lock on it. He unlocked it and turned the knob as he opened the door.
He say that he was directly behind a guard who was sitting on a chair. Somehow, it seemed like he hadn’t noticed Rune yet and he was relaxing in his seat. Rune carefully looked from behind the man to see three more guards around the floor with only a table and five chairs. The only light source was a single candle on the table however and Rune immediately turned off his light as soon as he reached the door.
Seeing as how nobody was looking in his direction or at the guard in front of him, Rune reached out his hand and froze the man’s vulnerable brain. His tail seemed to have a small spasm before becoming still, but the man was not dead and was instead just going to be in a coma. It was like cryo stasis except it kept him unconscious for a number of days and no one could tell. Rune left him there so that none would question it and he moved out from behind the man with a coma in the chair.
He hid in the shadows as he crept up to a pair of guards that were standing next to a set of double doors that had metal frames on them. They stood on either side of the door and were staring off into space. There was no space between them and the wall and Rune had to attack from the sides or the front.

He quickly cast [Quiet] around the guards and he rushed them from the front. They reacted for a little bit before they went into comas and Rune froze their legs and torso to keep them standing. He turned to the last guy.
Suddenly, a guard came out of another door and moved towards the man in the chair. Rune had to act quickly as the man got closer and he cast [Quiet] again around the man in the chair.
As soon as the walking guard got into range, Rune thrust out his hand to the person and froze his body mid step. Then Rune caught him and leaned his body against the wall and froze it.
He looked from the left to the right as he checked to see if there were any more guards around. As there were no more other than the last one who was standing next to the stairs, Rune quickly froze his entire body and his brain.
He wiped the non existent sweat on his forehead as he grabbed the person’s keys that were hanging from his belt. Rouna and Rena came out from the secret entrance and looked around the room. Rune had made sure to not let anyone die unless they needed to.
With the keys that had only three keys on a metal ring, he tried to open up all of the three doors in the room. One door, which the guard had come out from, was unlocked and was just a bathroom with a hole instead of a toilet.
The second room was opened with one of the keys and was a pantry. It contained a lot of stores of bread and cheese. There were even dried pieces of meat and crops on the shelves.
The large double doors which the two guards guarded was opened with a key and Rune pushed it open slightly to see what was inside. Rouna and Rena took a look as well as they couldn’t take the food of the building nor did they have to use the disgusting bathroom.
Inside was a large room with candles on the wall and three suits of armor with a set of stairs leading downwards. Rune couldn’t tell if there were people in the suits of armor. Each one had a tail like a Manticore’s and carried three different weapons.
The one on the left held a halberd. The one in the middle of the room was holding two long swords with bucklers on either arm. The last one on the right was hefting a large battle axe.
Each suit of armor was not moving and Rune eyes them suspiciously as he moved into the room. Suddenly, the suit of armor in the middle started to move and swing its swords. Rune expertly completed a combat roll to escape the swing of the swords. He reached into his storage and brought out his trench knife that he had wanted to use.
He quickly stabbed its head and it staggered back as the blade pierced the armor. Rune removed the knife and he could see a blue energy inside. They were Cursed Armor suits just like how he used to be.
Rune quickly followed up his previous attack with a slice to its left calf and it staggered to the left. The Cursed Armor began to swing at him once again and Rune moved his hand upwards to block the. However, instead of blocking them, the swords decided to break as soon as they came in contact with his gauntlets.
The sword blades embedded themselves in the roof and only the handle and the guards were what remained of the blade. The Armor seemed dumbfounded as it became weaponless. However, it started to try and punch Rune with its bare gauntlets.
Rune easily dodged the blows and jabbed at the being with his trench knife until it soon became scrap metal. Then the Armor on the left started to move with its halberd, but Rune decided that he would break it first and he stabbed with his knife and froze it over. Then he broke it into dust and jumped at the one on the right.
Rena and Rouna watched the scene in somewhat awe as Rune moved at speeds faster than they could calculate. He had easily annihilate the enemies and was now putting their scraps into his storage for later use.
Rune walked down the stairs as the two followed and they came to another door with a lock on it. It had golden engravings on the frame and three locks on it. He started to put every key in each slot, but only one key fit. He took out the key and moved back to the room with the five frozen guards. Rena went with him as Rouna decided to stay in the room where Rune fought the Cursed Armors.
He started to search the guards and found a key, but only one. He looked around and decided to travel up the stairs.
He saw a room with a map on a table and knives sticking out from it. There were three guards who were each holding spears at the ready with two standing beside one large door and the other standing next to a smaller door. There were magic lights around the room and everything was lit up.
It would be hard to knock them all unconscious as he had no tranquilizers or sedatives. But he did have his fists and [Blindness]. He cast it three times and they all started to fumble about as they dropped their spears and clutched their eyes.
Rune punched them all in the stomach quickly and then chopped them on the head with his hand. They all went unconscious and he propped them up against the wall and froze them. Then he started to look through their pockets and he found two keys.
He rushed back down to the locked door and tested the keys to find that the two keys worked unexpectedly and he pushed it open. Suddenly, he found himself as crossbow point.

Extermination Order
So it turns out that anime got something right: If you get hit by a truck, you're going to another world. Dennis became subject to that unknown quirk of reality when crossing a busy city street (despite having looked both ways). But that was quite some years ago. He's been around this new world 'Nassur' a time or two and knows how to live a good life. He also knows that adventuring friggin sucks. So, what is a man to do in a fantasy world with a shoddy leveling system that constantly suggests getting more XP, and a condition set by the gods that you must make the world a better place? Pest extermination. But reality is often fickle. Perhaps one day it is only rats, another, mechanical centipedes with lasers. Maybe the Dark Lord needs a shoulder to cry on because his dungeon simply can't be ready in time for the adventurers he likes to do battle against. Another poor soul from Earth could appear just as dazed and confused as the day you'd first arrived, requiring a good long talk about 'hey, what the hell is this, man'. And maybe... just maybe, that thick book of owed favors comes back to haunt you. For a man who desires a peaceful, productive life, Dennis can find it rather difficult for a week to go by where something doesn't go awry. This series originally started on r/HFY, [Link] but I decided to post it here since people are so positive about it! Posting rate is, and likely will continue to be, rather inconsistent. Layla isn't worried about that, though. She's just trying to pay the rent. Robinhood style, of course. Atom is the self-proclaimed Mantle of Procrastination and good times. He Ascended from Earth a thousand years ago. A millennial NEET shut-in at heart, he enjoys video games and holo tube while spending time with his female companion, who does all his deific duties for him. Join the crazy adventures of a lazy God and his unwilling follower's rise to power. The first few Arc's of the story is an Academy arc. I think you will know if you like the story by chapter 6 as the first chapter may be confusing (or sucks, idk I like it so whatever)._________ The story is a slow burn. If you are expecting quick progression, I suggest looking at some of the other great stories on RR. I personally enjoy and Patreon several, but that's not what I'm writing. That might hurt my chances of trending anytime soon (or ever lol), but that is fine with me. I'm sure some of you will appreciate the story as much as I do in writing it. FAQ: The story has elements of xianxia and wuxia along with some GameLit (at some point). The story takes place in an age where tech has advanced to a complete integration with magic. Imagine everything running on mana or qi instead of electricity, and you will get the idea. There will be crafting but not until later in the story. It's actually a core plot elemenet for Layla. I'm writing this story for my own enjoyment and as a way of relieving stress in my life. I'm not a pro author or a naturally gifted wordsmith. I don't have beta readers and every chapter posted is a first draft. I'm still learning and will strive to improve as I continue the story. If you don't speak up I can't work on improving as an author. I welcome any criticism and encouragement that would help me become a better writer. I can't believe you read this far down! ;) Enjoy the story. --Cover Credit-- Cover art (emblem) by: Oxana Che Cover Design by: Miblart
