《Beyond The Worlds[BTW]》Ch 17: Preparation for the 1st phase of the tournament

All major powers arrived on the island. The tournament starts today. Shin, Naomi, Ryuu and Mari went to the center of the island.
"Why do we need to go to the center of the island?" Mari didn't understand why all the participants needed to gather in the center of the island. "You'll know when the time comes." Shin replied.
When all the participants gathered in the center of the island, an artifact suddenly appeared in the air. Participants were amazed by the beauty of the artifact. The "Eye of Saturn" was a circle-shaped artifact. In the middle of the circle, a sphere of blood floated, sending out intimidating pressure.
"So this is the 'Eye of Saturn'." Mari commented. She would have to admit it was a beautiful artifact.
As the participants looked at the artifacts in awe, a giant scroll appeared in front of everyone. The parchment contained written messages.
First phase: Maze
Participants have one hour to leave the Labyrinth. Anyone inside the labyrinth after an hour will be disqualified;
Second stage: points battle.
Participants will form groups of 4 people. Each group will climb a tower with monsters guarding each floor. Maximum 15 floors. Each floor above will be worth +1 point. In the end, the 5 groups with the highest number of points will pass to the last phase;
Last stage: fight for crystals.
The 5 groups that have passed the second phase will enter a battlefield. Each team will have 1 purple crystal and 4 blue crystals. The objective is to steal the crystals from other groups. If a group's purple crystal is destroyed, that group will be disqualified. The group with the most crystals at the end wins.

"This tournament will be complicated." Tiana spoke.
"Don't worry mom, I'll win the tournament." a boy replied with a smile.

That boy was Alvin Homilion. The greatest genius of the Elf race in this world. Alvin was extremely proud, but unlike Toru, he didn't underestimate his opponents. Alvin knew there were a lot of geniuses in the other races, so he couldn't let his guard down.
"Just do your best." Tiana already knew it would be impossible to win this tournament. Tiana looked at her daughter who was standing beside Alvin with her head down.

Aka looked at the tournament participants. She could tell that some were strong. She looked at her group and said, "don't miss out on the first round."
The people in her group were not offended by the phrase, despite being geniuses of the dragon race, they are still far from the Princess.

The King of the Boryoku empire looked at Shin's group with a burning anger in his eyes. He wanted to kill the 4 right now, but he couldn't attack right now. When he learned that his son had died, he almost went mad. He heard from Boros about Shin's group and tried to look for them, but he couldn't find them on the island. The king thought Shin and his group would have fled, but here they were, participating in the tournament as if nothing had happened.
"Wait until the tournament is over." He would wait until the end of the tournament to finish them off.

"That King is pissing me off." Mari was about to kill that idiot King, but Shin stopped her.
"It was fun to see them looking for our whereabouts that day." Naomi said. She was a little surprised when Shin used the light to hide their location. Even if they weren't afraid of this King, it was better to avoid causing more trouble, after all, the tournament was about to begin. Tiana also spent time with them, so Shin decided to hide their location using the light element, he didn't want to get Tiana in trouble.

"Can we show our powers at the tournament?" Naomi asked Shin. She didn't want to lose to her "Juniors", but she also didn't want to spoil the mission.
"Just don't do something extremely exaggerated." He replied looking at Mari.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Mari felt a little offended.

A girl looked at the details of the first phase and clenched her fists. Unlike her brother, she wasn't strong. Elves are a race that have a natural affinity for mana, but they were only slightly above average. If she were a normal elf, that wouldn't be a problem, but she was the Queen's daughter. The girl wanted her mother to be proud of her.
"Sister, just try to get past the first stage. I'll take care of the rest." Alvin spoke looking at the girl.
"Yes…" she replied weakly.

The "Eye of Saturn" emitted a burst of mana, so a Labyrinth was created. The Labyrinth was extremely large. As big as the island itself. Participants were teleported into the Labyrinth by the "Eye of Saturn". The artifact also created a giant screen showing the participants in the Labyrinth to outsiders.
The first phase has started.

Note: Expect this story to contain grammatical errors and occasional random conjugations. I am learning English, and I have made a lot of progress, but I still have some gaps. So if you're allergic to it, don't read this story, you would inevitably be disappointed.
