A cheerful male voice started to speak into his mind "test 1, 2, test test, anyone hear me?"

Jason who was a bit freaked out (as anyone would be) replied "Um yes I can hear you."

The voice immediately replied "Great! Well, Mr archer. Congratulations, you have been chosen by us to be granted a system! Yes, that's right, the systems in the novels you have read, the golden finger, leveling system, cheat, hack we have many names."

"OHHH you mean those systems that make a normal person really op and stuff?"

"Yes exactly! Now I know you're excited, but continue packing up while I explain the uses of the system "

"Alright then." Jason started to put in more effort into his packing as the voice introduced himself

"The names Josh, Josh Boops call me Boops. I will be your guide, adviser, and helper in the course of your 20 years of stay at our company."

"Why are you here and h.."

"Sorry dude, I’ll have to interrupt you right there. Everything will be answered in time, but right now we need to get you to the camp pronto."

Jason with impeccable timing had just finished packing up everything and hurried outside. With a quick, final goodbye to his family, he went to where a pristine black limo was waiting for him and left just like that. He looked at the shabby house fading into the background when Boops cut in. "okay first things first we'll look at your status. I think you know the drill, just say it in your mind and it will appear."

"Ha I'm feeling kinda depressed my charm is only 3....." 

"Hey, don't worry. Isn't this a normal thing in novels? You'll be able to get it up in no time.” Boops tried to cheer him up. “Well anyways, this is your status. It depicts yourself and compares it to the world's standard. And with it are skills and innate talents. Skills can be awoken or taught, but talents can only be awoken," 

"Okay, so what are the types of skills out there?"

"it can be battle skills, artistic ones, literally anything, heck even magic"

Boops' mention of magic had him suppressing a grin that was slowly creeping onto his face. "So which is better, skills or talents?"

"I think you already know this, but talents. Since they have better synergy with the person and generally give more benefits," Boops replied.

Jason looked outside while confirming his status and noticed something. Or more like the lack of something, which was lights or any type of human influence besides the limos piercing, bright lights following a lonely dirt road.

"I know you have many questions and I'm not the best person to answer those, but I can promise you something… This is an opportunity that you will not get again for the rest of your life. Be sure to grab it with both hands." At that moment, the limo stopped in front of a small dirt trail that he could barely make out thanks to the vegetation growing around it, Boops said "This is our stop, lets go."

Jason got out and grabbed his stuff watching the limo take off, without him even seeing the driver once. He walked along the path as it descended into a valley, using the flashlight on his phone to help navigate as the Sun set. After a few minutes, the path underwent an amazing transformation.

Buildings appeared with a white exterior and dark blue windows. The path flattened out to reveal pavement lined with elegant street lights, and white buildings with their windows tinted a dark blue. They reminded him of the buildings seen in sci-fi movies, with how clean and orderly everything was, along with the clear reflective materials used. He noticed some greenery on top of some buildings. Budding flowers and trees that were full of pink petals that would float into the sky with the smallest breeze.

It was almost midnight, yet it seemed like daytime with the wonderful colors the mass of buildings was producing the buildings were lit in colored lights like the skyscrapers in big cities, except that everything was giving off a light from the windows to the exterior paint and walls outside. He was guided by Boops to one of the buildings. The interior was a garden, full of colorful plants and small streams of water traveling down some of the walls.

He spent a bit of time admiring the place before Boops directed him to his room, which somehow had his name on it. His name was projected in glowing blue letters on a cold metal plate. He placed his hand on the door and he heard a unlocking sound, he pushed it open and saw a room that looked like a place full of comfort and peace in contrast to the bright exterior it had a a large window surronded by elegant plants like bonsai trees or the occasional cherry blossom branch and a small fountain of water on the far left corner. The floor was wooden but had a soft touch to it much like carpet. There was queen size bed on one side, and the other a kitchen filled with shining utensils. A magnificent view on the outside the window was taller then he was, but sadly he could only see what he already saw as he went down the dirt road. Anything beyond the buildings and lamps was claimed by darkness.

Boops who had been silent said. "Jason, you have plenty of time to explore but now it's late and you should get some rest. Don't worry, nothing shady will happen."

Jason had started to like Boops, even though he could not see him started to trust him, just a tiny bit. "Alright then, goodnight."

"Goodnight."
