I walk towards the woman intending to help i guess i can fail some other tasks

I tap on the shoulder of one of the larger women to get her attention. She turns around and is as tall as me at 1m70, She is very tall. Now that i have there attention i say :

" I don't know what is going on here but i am sure we can sort this out in a civilized manner. Tell me what the problem seems to be "

The woman look at each other and laugh

They say :

" you're right you don't know what is going on so why don't you get out of here.before you get hurt "

Such a cliché villain thing to say i think

" i'm afraid i can't do that my conscious wouldn't allow me"

more like Sam wouldn't let me but i wasn't about to say that. The other woman shouts at me to go away , ugh i really wish i could but what kind of person would that make me. The woman closest to me tries to grab my clothes but before she could Sam pulls me back and says :

" if you'se don't want to get hurt i suggest you leave the young lady alone "

Damm why can't i be that cool. The women exchange looks and by some miracle decide to stop, walking past one of them says :

" Better watch out , will be seeing you "

The smaller woman got up from the ground. She doesn't look to be in the best of health and looks like she hasn't eaten in a while. Her clothes are all ripped but that was probably from the fight. She came up to us looking frightened and says :

" Thank you, but you shouldn't have done that now they will come for you sooner "

"Sonner?! what do you mean sooner " i ask a bit afraid of the answer

" i shouldn't have said anything " she says while she tries to run past us but before she can Sam grabs her and says :

" Better answer the question we helped you now it is time you helped us "

The girl looked absolutely terrified. I almost felt bad for her until in the next second she pulls out a knife and tried to stab Sam. He pushed her to the ground and grabbed the knife out of her hand

" okay ,okay i will tell you but not here " she said

" try anything else and i will kill you " said Sam

We started following her around the town taking a lot of detours and doubling back on herself. I guess she was making sure she wasn't being followed or she hoped we would get annoyed and move on. She took us down a dark alley. At the end was a small hut that looked almost broken down. There were no windows and it looked like one solid kick and the door would come crashing down. We went in and it wasn't any better on the inside. The place had no furniture and the floors looked rotten.

"Take a seat" she said with a little giggle

" I want to know what you meant by they will be coming for us. We haven't done anything to possibly offend anyone so why are they coming for us ? " i said because i could not think of something we did that someone would want us dead for.

" It's not what you did but what you are "

Oh great so just a bunch of racists then all we will have to do is go to the local police and they will sort it out.

" You live here alone, no husband , boyfriend ? " said sam

Is he trying to flirt with her, I thought. Not the moment my friend, i gave him a disapproving look

" What husband , boyfriend there are no males of my species anymore "

" What no males so you have evolved to be able to reproduce on your own ? "

I said I was a bit shocked some species have been able to have only one or the other male or female and still be able to reproduce but it wasn't very common.

" No our species still need males to reproduce but any child born will be a female of our kind "

" So what happened to all of you're males ? "

" We ate them or should i say my ancestors did. See we are evolved from a carnivorous plant that would feast on any animal or insect that passed by "

That give me the chills no wonder all we have seen since coming here is females

" So what you are saying is that we are currently trapped on a planet with a whole species that wants to eat us ? Am i getting that right "

" pretty much yeah "

"Then why don't you want to eat us ?"

"I do but i refuse to eat a person we can survive off of any meat but most of my species prefer to eat the ones who can talk they say you're kind are very nice "

Oh great, I'm a delicacy. I look to Sam hoping he would have an answer. Surely it must be a joke my parents wouldn't drop me off on a planet full of people who want to eat us. The look on his face did not reassure me at all he noticed me staring , he turned and gave me his signature everything will be alright smile. But i know this is serieus

" Okay time to get off this rock we are going to the ship dock and getting the hell out of here now ! " i said turning to leave Sam following behind

" Good luck with that you won't make it"

" Yeah ! And how do you know ? Who are you anyway ? why are you even telling us this "

" My name is vion i am part of a sort of resistance movement we try to help the occasional traveler that come through not get eaten i was on my way to get you 2 when i was intercepted "

" If you are part of a resistance than you can help us get off this rock "

" I can but you have to take me with you"

"Fine we don't have time for this they probably already know of your hideout and are on there way "

"Follow me "

Sam steps in front of me and we follow her into a tunnel that was hidden at the back of the room half way down we hear what sounds like an explosion behind us and vion says:

"The games have begun "
