City of Orario, Northwest Main Street

After being done taking her shower, Shalltear exited the guild building with some borrowed clothes. She was surprised at first to learn that the guild gave out free weapons and clothing to beginner adventurers. The clothes were cheap and had already been used before, but it was nonetheless still good.

They were apparently exclusive to adventurers, something that Shalltear was not. However, with her [Mystic Eyes of Charms] which allows to mind control any person of the same sex as her and who looks into her eyes, she was able to get the elf receptionist to hand over some clothes to her.

She went back to walking through the bustling streets of the city she hadn't learned the name of yet. The sun was setting down and gave the sky a slight shade of orange, indicating that this was most likely the end of the day. Shalltear had no destination to go to in mind. She simply wanted to take a small walk with her new clothes on.

The clothes she got were donated clothes, but they were still good enough and she wouldn't have to walk around in her flashy red armour anymore. She had carefully placed her beautiful armour back into her inventory.

Her outfit consisted of a pair of black pants and a short sleeve white t-shirt that had no doubt been used before due to its colour not really being white anymore. She covered her clothes by a dark red cloak like those some of the adventurers at the dungeon's entrance wore. The cloak had lost some of its colour along with having some spots of filth a bit everywhere on it.

Shalltear didn't like having to wear clothes that had already been used and dirtied by someone else before herself, but she would be willing to if that could play to her advantage. She knew that absolutely no noble girl would dare to wear such dirty rags and that meant that she wouln't get bothered by anyone because of her amazing piece of armour.

She really did not like the attention she was getting while wearing her beautiful piece of armour, even less when the potato sellers heard that she had no familia. A bit of calm was really what she needed. She was surprised of how relaxing walking could be in a busy city. Even if the sun was setting down and that most shops and potato carts closed, there were still many people outside. Her current clothing did not attract any attention at all. It felt strange since being ignored never happened to her before. As a floor guardian, she was quite of high standing and was recognized by all of Nazarick's denizens. Being left alone by the humans while in her situation of distress felt quite satisfying. She had managed to calm down in the showers and now felt a bit calmer, but still broken inside. Never had she felt more lonely than right now.

How could she have abandoned the supreme beings? Shalltear knew that she was a failure. She had failed to do her duties for Nazarick and now had nothing else to live for.

A few individuals she crossed on her walk noticed her grim expression but gave no comments about it and went on their way without looking back. Shalltear was surprised at the effectiveness of the bland dress she had stolen. It seemed as if no one was interested in a small teenage girl with no money on her. Though, she still remained pretty, as expected of a creation of one of the supreme beings. Shalltear knew that her features could eventually attract the wrong kind of attention, which will surely not happen in broad daylight as their are too many witnesses. At night, she was confident that she could get away with killing so it wasn't that big of a problem.

Lost in her thoughts, Shalltear bumped into a rather handsome looking man with dark blue hairs and blue eyes. He wore a black robe, a tan brown stole that reaches past his shoulders, and brown boots. The flasks he held in his pouch shattered onto the ground.

"I'm sorry~." Shalltear apologized quickly to the weakling. She knew that when she dressed up as a lower life-form, she also had to act like one hence why she did her best to look apologetic.

"Ah, it's alright, but I'd expect you to pay for the glasses you made me spill." The man said in a firm tone.

Shalltear tensed up. 'Damn it. I should've made the receptionist lady give me some money as well.'

"I don't have any money…" She answered, her head hanging low. Admitting the fact that she was broke to a weak human made Shalltear ashamed of herself.

"Can your parents repay the depth?" The robed man seemed to sympathize with the girl, but he couldn't simply let it go after the girl made that many potions fall on to the ground. It was too much lost money and he wasn't dumb.

"He's gone…" Those words were painful. It was difficult for her to not show her anguish. Thinking about her creator kept worsening her condition, both physically and mentally.

The man seemed taken aback by the girl's statement, but quickly put back a neutral face on. These sorts of things can sometimes happen when the children's parents are adventurers. There were many orphanages built in Orario as the result of the death of many fathers and mothers. That is the sad truth. He placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, bent down to her height and gave her a warm smile before continuing.

"If you don't have a home, then how about you work at our shop for a little while? We'll give you food and a roof to sleep under and you work for us in exchange." The man believed it to be a fair proposal to an orphan teenage girl. She seemed too old for going to an orphanage, but also too young to be left on her own.

He also really needed more employees. The man owned a shop selling medicinal products, mainly potions, and the business was very hard to handle because they were understaffed. If she accepted, it would help him out a lot for the small price of giving her a place to live in.

The girl seemed to ponder over it for a moment but answered with: "Mkay~." It didn't seem like she was very happy about that decision, but the man reasoned that any child wouldn't want to lose their parents and be stuck in the girl's current situation.

Shalltear did not expect this kind of proposal, but her masters were gone, so she had no place to stay. This was not a bad deal but having to work for someone below her still hurts inside.

"Ah, I forgot to introduce myself" The man said as he took his hand off the girl's shoulder and rose back up. "I am the god, Miach."
